Week 32 – Night of Navy

Today, I have some very simple masculine cards for you to show how you can create three card bases from three pieces of different DSPs. I’m using the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper with a Night of Navy card base and Basic White matt layer (5mm smaller than the card base).

Take three different patterns of paper and cut down to 12.5cm x 9.5cm.  Place all 3 pieces together in your Trimmer at an angle. There are no right or wrong measurements here. Just as long as you cut twice holding the patterned papers together. Once they are cut you can place them down ensuring one piece of each pattern is on each card. Glue them to your white layer.

I am sharing a sneak peek of some new alphabet dies, Alphabet A La Mode, that are coming in the New Year and they are a must have item!

Craft with Kate Morgan tip for using Alphabet dies, Stampin Up Australia 2023I placed some Adhesive Sheet behind some Navy and White card scraps to allow the die cuts to become stickers without the mess of using glue. Using the H, B, 2 & U dies, place them in a row together – grab some washi tape to hold them in place. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s easier this way when cutting 3 times!

Peel the backings off the dies to reveal the sticky side and place them onto your cards.

Finally I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots. There were 3 colours, so I grouped them on each card. I think these are more masculine than many of the other embellishments.

On the inside, I placed a Basic White piece of card with a strip of the DSP across the bottom.

Week 18 – Early Espresso

Today is the final day of Sale•a•bration for 2022.

The largest die from the Aspen Trees dies is used to cut the Early Espresso card front. Behind this, I glued a piece of the 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper. I stamped the dots/speckles in the same colour ink around the edges of the card front.

The sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Bundle is stamped in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and heat set, before using the coordinating die to cut it out. This was added with Black Mini Dimensionals. I die cut two leaves in the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and one in Early Espresso card and these are adhered with glue. A small piece of Linen Thread is added behind the sentiment. To finish off I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

On the inside, I placed a Basic White card insert and repeated the dots/speckles around the edge, but I stamped off before onto the white card, so it toned it down. I placed two more of the leaves to the bottom corner.

Heart of Christmas Blog Header 2021

Each Monday evening until mid-December, I am taking part in the Heart of Christmas blog hop showcasing our amazing range of holiday products from the Annual and July-December Mini catalogues. Please hop along and enjoy some fabulous inspiration from our talented team!

Tonight I am using some of the products from the Painted Christmas Suite.

Painted Christmas DSP JD21

The Christmas Season Bundle will no doubt be a popular bundle this year. With its holly, berries and pinecones, it suits all crafters worldwide. Underneath the Designer Paper on this card, I am using the pre-printed Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Cards and Envelopes again for a quick and easy start to this card.

The Painted Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies for the bottom layer. The holly are stamped in Garden Green ink, the leaves are Pear Pizzazz ink and the berries are Real Red ink. The other leaves are stamped in Versamark ink, Heat & Stick Powder added and heat set with the Heat Tool, then Gilded Leafing added and gently rubbed with a sponge dauber to remove the excess. Doesn’t it add a gorgeous touch of elegance?!!

Some Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added to finish it off. The sentiment for this card is from the new Peaceful Deer stamp set.
