Week 16 – Coastal Cabana

This handmade card features the Beautiful Butterflies dies and some of the Kintsugi Inspirations Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I used the ink blending technique with Blending Brushes and the following inks; Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape and Strawberry Slush. I used Post It Notes to mask off each section of the Gold Foil lines on the DSP to add the inks. Yes, it took a while, but I was happy with the stained glass effect!

Once it was done, I sprayed some water over it using the Stampin’ Spritzer and placed a tissue over the top so it didn’t wet the paper too much. This gives it the extra texture.

The Coastal Cabana card base (21cm x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm) has a Gold Foil layer then the DSP added. This just gave it a real touch of glamour. Next the Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil butterflies were die cut and adhered under the centres so the wings could sit up a little. The sentiment is from the Greetings For All Memories & More Ephemera Pack.

This card fits into a DL Business size envelope for mailing.

Cherry Cobbler: Flowerpot Easel card

Week 15 – Cherry Cobbler

This handmade card features the Coneflower Celebrations Bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies) and the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP).

This is the card sitting for display.

Here you can see how the card sits flat to fit into an envelope. You can also see close up of the Damask Designs Embossing Folder on the flowerpot. The flower itself is Cherry Cobbler with a Basic White layer that has been gently inked using a Blending Brush. The top is Pecan Pie. Wink of Stella is added over the ink blending for sparkle.

The same piece of doubled sided patterned paper is used. The A side with the photographic rattan texture side and the ‘B’ side/reverse, is the more subdued linen texture. I added some stamped splatter to this in Pecan Pie ink with the same cardstock as matt layers. The strip across the centre is added on Dimensionals, so that the flowerpot sits behind it to display. The butterfly is stamped in Pecan Pie and coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers; Cherry Cobbler, Fresh Freesia and Pecan Pie.

Opening the above layer, is the hidden panel for writing your message. The same butterfly was stamped in the bottom corner with Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. Some light ink blending was then added and a sentiment stamped next to it in Cherry Cobbler ink.

Calypso Coral: Hexagon Twisted Card

Week 14 – Calypso Coral

This handmade fun fold card features the Mixed Florals stamp set and coordinating dies and the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers were used to colour the images that were stamped in Black Memento ink. Under the feature image is some Black Two Tone cardstock (lighter shade side), Lace Doilies and some Gold Twisted Thread.

As you start to open the card you get a glimpse of what is to come!

Under these featured images is some Black Two Tone cardstock (lighter shade side) and another of the Lace Doilies.

Here is the card fully open where you can see the large white diamond in the centre for writing your message to the recipient.

This is the left side showing the sentiment and a leaf in the lower section that pops up when closing the card

on the right side, a similiar situation with more feature images and a different sentiment

Cajun Craze: Masculine Fun Fold card for Dad!

Week 13 – Cajun Craze

This handmade card features the Trusty Tools stamp set and coordinating dies for a fun masculine card for, you guessed it, my DAD!

The panel on the left acts like a roller door to lock in under that right panel to display standing up. The Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) was perfect for this masculine card.

Here you can see the details I’ve used on each of the narrow panels. I masked off each panel and stamped the lines using the Stripes and Dots stamp set in Versamark ink, added Copper WOW Emboss Powder and melted it with my heat tool. The nuts & bolts were also copper embossed. To do this, I dragged the Versamark ink pad across some Basic White card, added Emboss Powder and melted it, then I could die cut as many nuts & bolts that I needed. Try die cutting first then embossing each one individually and not burning your fingers!!!

This is what it looks like when the card is closed (flat) to put into an envelope.

The hammer, paint brush and measuring tape were stamped and coloured using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to smooth out the colour. The handle of the hammer was stamped directly onto some more DSP and fussy cut to adhere, doesn’t it look cool? This is called paper piecing!

The DAD was copper embossed and fussy cut and added on dimensionals. This entire panel has dimensionals behind it, so the roller door can sit behine to display.

Bubble Bath: Multi Panel Pop up 80th Feminine Birthday card

Week 12 – Bubble Bath

This handmade fun fold card requires a belly band to hold it closed and wait until you look inside!

It features the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper, Pretty Florals Bundle and the Sweet Blooms Bundle (stamps and coordinating dies). The Everyday Arches dies feature on the Belly band.

Here are the lovely details attached to the belly band. Simply slide it off the card and the beautiful Florals in Bloom DSP is adhered to the front panel.

Ta-da! The multi panels in all their glory. A speical 80th birthday card featuring the Alphabet a la Mode dies to cut the Gold Foil. Some more stamped flowers and gorgeous patterned paper.

Blueberry Bushel: Father’s Day Joy Fold card

Week 11 – Blueberry Bushel

This handmade Father’s Day fun fold card features the Textured Notes stamp set, Pretty Florals dies and the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I started with a piece of the DSP and using Blending Brushes, added the ink from Blueberry Bushel, Lost Lagoon to Coastal Cabana (I think there was some Lemon Lime Twist ink on my brush, oopsies). Once done I splattered some Blueberry Bushel ink for extra texture. On the centre piece, I repeated the process, but I also stamped some of the images from the Textured Notes stamp set. After I die cut some leaves in Lost Lagoon card and blended some Blueberry Bushel ink to the tips, I used the die cut negative piece to use as a stencil and added some blended leaves behind the focal image.

I added the small triangle in the bottom corner to hold the card closed. Simply slide the centre piece out to open the card, rather than creating a belly band! The main image is stamped and fussy cut with some ink blending to soften the white cardstock. The sentiment is from the Ephemera pack. These are brilliant for adding quick sentiments to your cards.

Blackberry Bliss: Beautiful Butterflies Z Fold card with easy step-by-step measurements

Week 10 – Blackberry Bliss

This handmade Z Fold card features the Beautiful Butterflies dies and the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) and it fits into our C6 envelope.

How did I make this?

1. Crumb Cake cardstock 21cm x 21cm, score at 5.25cm & 10.5cm.
2. Fold in half then back on itself to create a Z Fold.
3. Open it out flat, place in the trimmer with scorelines horizontal, and cut at 15cm.
4. Take the smaller section and flip it to create the bottom panel. Before adhering it, add the DSP to each end of the card front and some Basic White on the inside panel to write a message.
5. Add DSP to each end of the panel and a small square if Blackberry Bliss card with a stamped and heat embossed sentiment.
6. Die cut butterflies and adhere to the card, along with another sentiment on the front.

Berry Burst: Pop Up Vase card

Week 9 – Berry Burst

This handmade card features the Pretty Florals Bundle and three different Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs!

The Beautiful Bokeh DSP is used to die cut the petals on the Berry Burst flowers seen in the image below. The leaves were die cut from the reverse side of some Thoughtful Journey DSP for instant varied colour.

Open the card and that is where the pop up vase appears, full of Pretty Florals. The mechanism is attached to the card front and slides to pull the vase into its glory and closing the card, slides it flat again.

The ‘vase’ is from the Perennial Lavender DSP. All the leaves here are die cut from the Thoughtful Journey DSP. All the flowers are stamped onto Beautiful Bokeh DSP and die cut then added to the card, some glued, and some on Mini Dimensionals.

Basic Gray: Thankful Garden Fun Fold card

Week 8 – Basic Gray

This handmade card features @stampinupofficial products; Thankful Garden Bundle, Layered Thoughts stamp set, Lovely Garden DSP and some Ephemera packs.

All the images are stamped in Basic Gray ink and coloured using Blending Brushes and the masks with inks; Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Granny Apple Green and the DSP is coloured with Basic Gray in and a Blender Pen!

When the card is open, you have this wonderful scene and gorgeous sentiment on the inside using the Ephemera packs; Foiled Frames & Labels and the Greetings for All Mix & Match. Those small leaves were stamped and coloured the same way as the Designer Paper.

You can see some extra die cut leaves that have some blending on them and some droplets of water slattered on them.

on the back is the writing panel with the large bold sentiment [Layered Thoughts stamp set].

Balmy Blue: Pretty Florals Celebrating You

Week 6 – Balmy Blue

This handmade card features @stampinupofficial products; Pretty Florals Bundle, Coneflower Celebrations stamp set, and the Everyday Arches dies.

On my Balmy Blue card base, is another layer dry embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. I ran my paper snips around the edges to rought it up and add texture. I used Blends Combo markers; Balmy Blue an Pretty Peacock to splatter ink, before adhering it to the card base. The arches are die cut, and the Balmy Blue one is dry embossed with teh Glass and Gardens Embossing Folder. The Basic White arch is stamped with the Pretty Florals stamp set in Balmy Blue and Pretty Peacock ink. The petals are die cut and adhered on a Mini Dimensional. A tiny Gold Twisted Thread bow is added with ome gems.
