Gorgeous Grunge meets Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

I have a wonderful card to share with you today, which is not a style that I am confident with, but I absolutely love the outcome. I got some inspiration from Pootles in the UK!

I changed up the colours and added some twine for a bit of extra interest.

Petite Petals

The card base in Rose Red, the next layer is Perfect Plum, then Whisper White. The Gorgeous Grunge splashes are in the coordinating inks, as are the sponged edges of the petals. The flowers were punched out of some Whisper White card stock that I had previously stamped with I Love Lace and embossed in Gold.

Petite Petals2

I then added the Baker’s Twine and the flowers with glue dots.

I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum ink.

Stippled Blossoms

Hello Crafters,

I have had a wonderful day at home today with the kids home on school holidays, and they sat with me and made some cards of their own. Yes, they did get a bit bored after a little while, so they headed out to watch the movie Frozen. Miss 8 made this card before she went. I was impressed and had to share it with you!!!

Anyway, back to what I decided to make and that was enter a challenge at Just Add Ink, which this week is a Sketch Challenge JAI#233.

I decided to try turning the sketch sideways and see what I could come up with. I chose one of my all time favourite SU stamp sets, Stippled Blossoms and wanted to make a card also using the new I Love Lace background stamp which I find absolutely stunning and I think these 2 sets go very well together!

Stippled Blossoms

I began with a Perfect Plum card base and added the banner. This was created by stamping I Love Lace with Versamark Ink onto Whisper White card stock, then heat embossed with gold. I then added the Baker’s Twine and tied in a bow.

I stamped the flowers in Perfect Plum with Elegant Eggplant, and the leaves in Pistachio Pudding with Wild Wasabi. Then fussy cut them all out!!!! I added each of the flowers with dimensionals and glued the leaves.

I stamped the sentiment in Elegant Eggplant onto the whisper white card and die cut with the framelits before adding with dimensionals.

Stippled Blossoms2

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Wondrous Wreath Shaker Card

Hello Crafters,

Are you ready for some more Christmas and Wondrous Wreath but with a little extra?

Shaker cards are all the rage and I thought “why not do it for Christmas too”. So I did and used the centre of the wreath as the shaker section.

Wondrous Wreath

These stamps are made from photopolymer, which means they are completely clear so you can see precisely where you are going to stamp. They are also two step stamp, which means you can use the next one to stamp directly over the top of the first stamp. I haven’t used this here, but I will bring you something next week using the set to its fullest potential.

The base card colour used is Garden Green and I felt the rest of the card needed to be fairly plain, focusing on the shaker section.

The wreath itself is coloured using the baby wipe technique with the colours: Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler.

See the little sequins and the snowflakes inside the wreath?

Wondrous Wreath

I just added the ‘joy’ from the coordinating framelits and some simple rhinestones to finish off.

Wondrous Wreath also has coordinating framelits, which makes it so much easier to cut the wreath out! Imagine doing that by hand?!!! It would be so time consuming.  And as an added bonus if you purchase them as a bundle you can save an extra 15%.

Don’t forget about the current Hostess Offer: A FREE Good Greetings Stamp Set with any order of $300+ in addition to your hostess dollars. Yes, you heard correctly, it is FREE! Festival of Trees

Hello Crafters,

Well guess what? Here I am making another card with the Festival of Trees Bundle! Yes, I have said many times that I do love this set; so versatile and simple.

In this card, I aimed to show some more layering, whilst still trying to use the traditional Christmas colours of reds and greens.

Festival of Trees

Colours used are Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler.  The trees are stamped with the same baby wipe technique and inks (Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green & Crushed Curry) from the previous post on Monday, Wondrous Wreath.

I stamped the trees and punched them with the coordinating Tree Punch before adding some baubles by using the Cupcake Builder Punch and some Glitter Paper.

Wondrous Wreath

Hello Crafters,

Well here we are on the first day of school holidays and I couldn’t wait to get into the craft room and make some cards!

This is the first time I have inked up the Hardwood Background Stamp and the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and I fell in love.

Wondrous Wreath

Not only are they marvellous stamps, but the Wondrous Wreath also has coordinating framelits which makes it so much easier to cut the wreath out! Imagine doing that by hand?!!! It would be so time consuming.  And as an added bonus if you purchase them as a bundle you can save an extra 15%.

The base card colour used is Crumb Cake and the Hardwood Stamp is inked in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White card stock, then sponged.

The wreath itself is coloured using the baby wipe technique with the colours: Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler.

Hello Crafters,

Well who would of thought that it is already the last day of Term 3 and we look forward to spending the next two weeks home with the kids on school holidays!

We don’t have any plans as yet, but I am sure amongst the necessary hair cuts and appointments, there will be some day trips to the zoo as well as some crafting days with the kids.

This card features the Bloom With Hope Stamp Set which is a hostess set for this year and perfect for colouring with our Blendabilities.

Bloom with Hope

Colours used are Rich Razzleberry and Wisteria Wonder. The flowers are coloured with the Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities.

The ribbon and layering are Wisteria Wonder.

Bloom with Hope

Here is a close up of my colouring. It doesn’t need to be perfect in any way, as long as you have some blended tone on tone, you get the results!

Festival of Trees

Hello Crafters,

Well who would of thought I would be making another card with the Festival of Trees Bundle! Yes, I do love this set, it is just so versatile and today is no exception with this card. I was extremely happy with the outcome and can’t wait to show you.

Festival of Trees

Colours used are Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss, my two favourite 2014-2016 In Colours. I just can’t get enough of them lol.

I sponged the stars using the Stars Decorative Mask and sponge daubers with Lost Lagoon ink. Then die cut the decorative labels and paper pieced the Blackberry Bliss one. The smaller one is from the In Colours Designer Series Paper Stack. The ribbon bow is from the current Holiday Catalogue.

I stamped the trees and punched them with the coordinating Tree Punch and added them to the card with dimensionals, before adding some Dazzling Details.

Festival of Trees

The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp Set. Can’t find this set in the Annual Catalogue, well it is a new set available for FREE with any order of $300+ as well as earning your hostess dollars. Yes, you heard correctly, it is FREE! You don’t need to host a party, but ask your family and friends to place an order along with your own (in the one transaction) and you too can simply earn this set for FREE!

Christmas

Bright & Beautiful Stars

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you a card that can be used for so many occasions, from Christmas to Birthdays, masculine or feminine!

Stars are amazing and look so good in nearly any colour. So here I made a card using the new Star Framelits and the coordinating Bright and Beautiful Stamp Set.

Bright & Beautiful Stars

I made the card base in white cardstock, but folding a piece in half and placing the die on top, but ensuring the point on the fold line sits off the card. This will ensure you get the fold of the card when you run it through the Big Shot machine.

Once you have your card base cut, die cut the same size framelit with gold foil sheet and adhere it to the white card.

I stamped the two large stars from the Bright & Beautiful Stamp set on Blackberry Bliss cardstock using Versamark ink, then embossing with gold embossing powder. Wow does it shine!

Die cut these two stars with the coordinating framelits, and cut a second gold foil star in the smaller size.

Adhere them with dimensionals as shown.

Bright & Beautiful Stars

I finished it off with some rhinestones, just to add a little bling!

Four Feathers Shaker Card

Hello Crafters,

I have been very busy today and I want to share another challenge at Pals Paper Arts. The challenge this week is a Colour Challenge PPA2219.

This is my first time entering a challenge at Pals Paper Arts, but these colours are some that I just don’t use. In fact, this is the first time I have actually opened my Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze inkpads and cardstock! Can you believe this? They are just not my style, so I felt the need to have a go and get out of my comfort zone.

Well enough of my chatter, let me share what I came up with.

Four Feathers

So I began with my cardstock in front of me and worked out which layers I was going to start with. I used the Crushed Curry as my base card and added the Cajun Craze then the Always Artichoke. Both of these being the Core’dinations cardstock. I embossed the green with the Pretty Print TIEF.

The next layer is Crushed Curry stamped with Always Artichoke ink using the image from the Bordering Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. Then I die cut the centre using the Labels Collection Framelits. A piece of acetate was glued to the back of this die cut to create a window for the shaker card.

The little stars were created using the Stars Border punch. The images are Four Feathers Stamp Set and coordinating dies, also a new photopolymer set.

Four Feathers

The flower was made using the Simply Pressed Clay and coloured with the inkpad. Once it was dry, I them covered it in Crystal Effects and left to dry. It gives it such a gorgeous shiny sheen! Some linen thread was added behind.

Four Feathers

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Pals Paper Arts page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Something for Baby

Hello Crafters,

I want to say a big sorry for missing in action over the past 2 weeks. I have been quite unwell, but now I am back and ready to share some wonderful ideas with you all!

I begin with a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is a Colour Combination Challenge JAI#231.

My dear younger sister had her third baby last week, a little boy to add to the two girls she already had! It was such wonderful news and Mitchell is just adorable.

Anyway, I saw these colours and immediately thought baby card, so here it is.

I began with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a layer of Crushed Curry cardstock.

Something for Baby W'eve Grown

The next layer is Whisper White, the best cardstock for stamping on by far. I sponged the stars at the top using a sponge dauber and the stars decorative mask, then punched the side of the cardstock with the new stars border punch. Isn’t it just gorgeous?!!!

I stamped the pram from the Something For Baby stamp set in crushed curry onto the white card and again on some spare white card twice. I also stamped the pram in Bermuda Bay ink onto white card and cut out just the bassinet of the pram and added it with dimensionals.

The two yellow images on the spare card, I cut out the hood of the pram from each and folded them and put them together with glue.

I added some ribbon, tied it in a bow towards the bottom, so the sentiment could be added above it.

Something for Baby We've Grown     Something for Baby W'eve Grown

The sentiment is from the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set inked in black and punched out with the decorative label punch. The little stars on the sentiment are bits out of the stars border punch, so cute hey?!!!

I glued the white card to the crushed curry card and then used dimensionals to add them to the base card.

I didn’t feel it looked quite finished and it needed something, so I added a little of the silver glimmer paper which was an off cut from another project.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.
