Azure Afternoon: Spotlight in Nature Watercolour & Baby Duckling card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 7 – Azure Afternoon

Card 1

Features the Spotlight on Nature stamp set with some beautiful watercolouring.

On a Thick White card base are 2 matt layers of Peach Pie & Azure Afternoon cardstock. The Fluid 100 Watercolour paper is stamped with the floral image with Black Stazon ink .

Watercoloured card with Spotlight on Nature for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I then masked around the edges with some washi tape, before applying a watercolour wash with Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock inks and a Water Painter. This is carefully applied around the floral image. Once this was dry (I used my Heat Tool to quicken the process), before adding some darker splatters and drops of water to carefully lift some of the colour. I carefully removed the washi tape.

The image is coloured with Peach Pie ink for the flowers, and the leaves and stems I used Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock by mixing them on a clear acrylic block. The sentiment is stamped and fussy cut and added on Mini Dimensionals and one of the Brushed Brass Butterflies added.

The inside of the card and the envelope were decorated the same, by adding a masked circle of Azure Afternoon ink applied with a Blending Brush and then the beautiful butterfly image was stamped.

Card 2

Features the Charming Duckpond Bundle for a sweet baby card. A piece of the Country Woods DSP was cut to the card front size and die cut with the largest die. Behind this I added 2 more patterns from the same DSP pack, but I used a Blending Brush to add Azure Afternoon ink to the bottom section to reflect water.

The mother duck & ducklings are stamped in Gray Granite and diecut before using my Wink of Stella to add a very light tone of Azure Afternoon ink & Peach Pie for the beak and feet. The duck in the water is just diecut and coloured. The reeds are cut from more of the same DSP and coloured the same way as the water.

The sentiment is stamped using the Unbounded Love stamp set and diecut using the Spotlight on Nature dies.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Balmy Blue.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Di Furniss.

Pretty in Pink: Faux Pinwheel card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 3 – Pretty in Pink

With the release of the new Annual catalogue, we begin our blog hops with the new In Color™ range, followed by the new Basic Beige, then all the other Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order. So today, we have the second new 2024-2026 In Color™, Pretty in Pink.

2024-2026 IN COLORS

Today I feature the Faux Pinwheel design with the gorgeous Unbounded Beauty DSP.  The patterns are so beautiful and I wanted to feature two of them here. The background Pretty in Pink layer is embossed with the Eyelet 3D Impressions Folder then splattered with some Petunia Pop Blends Marker, by placing the tip inside the lid and gently flicking it onto the card.

faux pinwheel card with Unbounded Beauty DSP for Pretty in Pink Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The pinwheel is created using two squares of 7cm x 7cm Summer Splash card and eight pieces of DSP 3cm x 3cm.  The ‘celebrate’ is Gold Foil and created using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. This is a folder and the die which sits inside the folder and cuts the sentiments at the same time when run through the Cut & Emboss Machine.

The colour of this image is not quite right, it’s looking more purple as the daylight was disappearing when I photographed it, but you can see the detail up close. The Paper Butterfly Accents are added behind the sentiment and adhered on dimensionals, so it gives a little height.  Some 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems are added too!

On the inside, some more DSP was placed behind a white panel and butterfly for the written message.

The inside is decorated the same as the envelope, so the design flows across all elements.

birthday card using Leaf Collection for Petunia Pop Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

This next card is part of a set of 3 using the One Sheet Wonder (OSW) Technique. By taking one piece of 6×6 In Color Designer Series Paper, cut it into 4 equal squares, the one of these cut it into 3 x 1″ strips. Place a square onto Basic White card (9 x 12cm) then leave a gap and place the 1″ strip (reverse side of pattern) with equal borders at the bottom. The 1.5cm wide sentiment strip covers the gap between the papers. I then added another matt layer of Petunia Pop card then onto a Thick Basic White card base.

6x6 In Color DSP OSW 3 quick cards using Attention Shoppers & Country Flowers for Petunia Pop Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The sentiment is from the Country Flowers stamp set and the image is from the Attention Shoppers stamp set. This is coloued using Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop & Soft Sky Blends Combo Markers and thed flowers have Wink of Stella on them. I finished off with a Linen Thread bow and some Shimmer Gems.

Sweet Sorbet Gift Bag & Matching Card

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 49 – Sweet Sorbet

Today I feature this cute gift bag and coordinating card using the Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper which is retiring soon. This gift bag is created using two sheets of DSP joined together and how cute is it?!! Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up! demonstrated this on her FB page last week and I loved the idea!

Bee Mine DSP Gift bag & card for Sweet Sorbet Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

On the card, I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut the squares and the banner. The sentiment, from a new stamp set coming on 1 May is the Unbounded Love. This is stamped with Versamark ink, white emboss powder added & melted with the Heat Tool. One of the Paper Butterfly Accents is added to the top corner. Some Adhesive-backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments were added and some Sweet Sorbet Bordered ribbon is added behind the sentiment (also retiring soon). On the inside, I added a white diecut using the Deckled Rectangle dies and some embellishments.

This is a great way to give a gift with a card and coordinating gift bag. I love how it coordinates and sits over the side of the gift bag between the ribbon, to display without hiding it in an envelope!

Cutest Cows card Pretty Peacock Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

My card base is 14.9cm x 18cm, scored on the long edge at 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm. A piece of the Glorious Gingham DSP 14.9cm x 10.5cm is attached behind the 2.5cm side to create the card front. This is such a great way to show both sides of the patterned papers, and I thought gingham was so fitting for my country theme!

The next two panels of the card front are glued together to create a tab on the inside to add an additional layer of stamping. I added a diecut piece of Basic White card cut with the Scalloped Contours dies. I also cut the smaller one for the front panel. My cows are stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Smoky Slate & Crumb Cake Blends Combo Markers. The little chick is coloured with Daffodil Delight and ther sunflowers with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Pecock Blends. The grass is stamped in Lost Lagoon and I added some light ink with the Blending Brushes. The ‘congrations’ is die cut using the Happy Little Things dies (Online Exclusive coming in March).

The cow on the front is stamped, coloured and punched out with the Cutest Cow Builder Punch and added on dimensionals. The clouds are created using Blending Brushes with Azure Afternoon ink and the cloud is from the Give it a Whirl dies. The Poppy Parade heart was sitting on my desk leftover from another project, but I thought it added to the country theme and added a double Linen Thread bow with a glue dot. Pool Party CCBH: Hot Air Balloon & Notes of Nature

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 40 – Pool Party

Today I hasve 2 cards for you!

Card 1
Features the Hot Air Balloon bundle and the coordiating Lighter Than Air DSP.  The colours in this DSP pack are just stunning from the Subtles and Brights collection.

Lighter Than Air 6x6 DSP

A piece of the DSP covers the front of the Thick Basic White card front. Two Scalloped Contours dies layer togther on Dimensionals and glued to the card front.

Hot Air Balloon card for Pool Party Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The hot air balloon is die cut from one of the pieces of DSP (I love that Stampin’ Up! do this). This is added on Dimensionals as are the clouds. The sentiments are stamped in Pool Party ink and some Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots added.

and on the inside

Card 2
The Notes of Nature Bundle is one that really appeals to me, but I’m not a confident crafter when it comes to this style. In saying that, I’m happy with the result. I watched Emma Goddard make a card recently so I have cased her design but used different colours and papers.

Notes of Nature card for Pool Party Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I started with stamping the larger leaf image a few times on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Versamark, added Silver Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. I also diecut other finer leaves so I could also watercolour them. I used Pool Party & Highland Heather inks with my Water Painters. Some of the finer diecut leaves, I dabbed them on my Versamark inkpad and added Silver Emboss Powder. I think they came out beautifully.

Notes of Nature card for Pool Party Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 feature

On the Highland Heather card base, is a piece of DSP from the Softly Stippled 12×12 DSP (free with a $90+ product order during Saleabration 2024). This has been brushed with Pool Party ink, then stamped with the dotty stamp and Silver Embossed. I also used a Sponge Dauber and added Highland Heather ink around the edges. The top layer is Pool Party cardstock, brushed with both colours of ink and stamped. I diecut the holes down the left side and roughed up the edges with open Paper Snips.

Now that I have all the layers glued together I added another strip of the DSP across the centre then started gluing the leaves. Some are added on Dimensionals, but mostly glued. The sentiment is fussy cut and added on doubled up dimensionals. A silver Simply Elegant Trim bow is added on a glue dot.

On the inside is a basic white layer, a sponge dauber added ink around the edges and then another of the watercoloured leaves added in the corner.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Poppy Parade.

Jungle Pals

Saleabration is now into the 2nd and final month for 2024, and many more items have been added as well as what is in the brochure.

More to Saleabrate

Today I feature the Jungle Pals stamp set (free with $90+ order) and the Jungle Pals dies (free with $180+ order) and lots of different colouring techniques.

Card 1:
My first card features the gorgeous tiger roaming through the trees. He is stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. I also used a Black and White pencil to add highlights and shadowing.

The trees are cut from the Aspen Tree dies and coloured using Blending Brushes with Crumb Cake and Pebbled Path inks. I die cut the Basic White frame using the Deckled Rectangle dies and then glued some foliage along the bottom on the back side. These were die cut from the reverse side of some Meandering Meadows DSP. Next I added the trees, gluing them at the top and bottom. The tiger is slipped between the trees. Once these were all secured, I added Adhesive Strips and various size Dimensionals where I could to add support.

The Thick Basic White card base has another piece of the DSP added to cover the front, then the frame is added. The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments stamp set and the Sentiment Silhouettes dies to cut it out. More foliage is added on the inside across the bottom of the card.

Card 2:
A Basic White layer is dry embossed with the Fern 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder then coloured with Blending Brushes from the centre out. These were the inks in order: Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Starry Sky. The tree is coloured with Crumb Cake and then Pebbled Path. The foliage is coloured with Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Granny Apple Green.

The animals are all stamped with Black Memento ink and die cut with the Jungle Pals dies then coloured using Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers (alcohol):
Toucan – Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight & Basic Black
Lemur – Smoky Slate, Gray Granite & Colour Lifter
Flowers – Daffodil Delight & Poppy Parade

All the elements are glued or on Mini Dimensionals and then this layer is adhered to a Thick White card base. The sentiment is from the Cutest Cows stamp set and Paper Snips used to create the banner.

On the inside, I have added some vines (lightly brushed Pretty Peacock ink) and a sloth hanging from it. The Sloth is coloured with Crumb Cake Blends Combo Markers and highlighted with Black & White pencils.

In the lower corner, I added another piece of foliage with a Poppy Parade flower. Some Poppy Parade Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs were added for a little shine to the flower centres and banner. Thanks to Marcie Besecker (USA) for the inspiration!

I have stamped all the images in this stamp set, but still have the crocodile to share, but that will be next week’s project. Thanks for dropping by.
