Scottie Christmas

Each Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Today’s card is a quick and easy Christmas card created with little fuss. The Scottie Dog Punch is so cute in Basic Black card and I thought he would look great on a piece of the Santa Express DSP. The 12″ x 12″ sheet has 6 of these scenes and I layered it onto a piece of Shaded Spruce card. The edge is die cut with the Blossoming Happiness dies.

The dog is popped up on black dimensionals and the bow is punch from some DSP from the same pack as the background papers. Two Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels are add for sparkle.

I have lots of patterned papers on this fancy fold card and I love all the metallic foil highlights on them; Boughs of Holly DSP, Lights Aglow SDSP, Metallic & Shimmer SDSP and the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. I’m not sure if you can tell that there is some Vellum behind the windows on the caravan?!

When you open the front panel you have this spanner effect. The sentiment and die cut circles (Stylish Shapes dies) are 1 size smaller than the ones of the front of the card; this is so they hide neatly behind the top layer.

Then open the centre panel to reveal the next layer for your message. I have used the Wink of Stella on the Holly leaves and added Pearlized Enamel Effects in red for the berries. Both sentiments (Very Best Occasion stamp set) are stamped in Evening Evergreen ink.

Christmas U Fold Window card

Today’s fancy fold card is a ‘U Fold Window’ style card using the Kindest Gnomes Bundle and Storybook Gnomes DSP.

I made this same design of fancy fold card last Friday which had the measurements.

I just love how the dies can cut out the images in the coordinating Designer Paper. The gnome and mushroom are both cut this way – it makes card making super easy so you can concentrate on designing a fancy fold card! The window is cut using the largest square from the Stylish Shapes dies.

Can you see the Pearlized Enamel Effects in White that I have added to the tree branches?! Make sure you add these last so you can sit the card aside to allow these to dry. They don’t take long, but it would be a shame to ruin them. The Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems on either side of the sentiment (stamped in Orchid Oasis ink) add extra interest.

The gnome is added on dimensionals to the front panel.

Christmas Holiday Travel card

Each Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Today’s card started with a Thick Basic White card base as well as the top layer. I embossed the layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder then die cut the circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies. The trees are part of the Sale•a•bration Tree Lot Dies (159938) which can be earned free with a $180+ order. These also coordinate with the Trees for Sale stamp set in the JD Mini catalogue!

The only stamping is the dog (Trees for Sale stamp set) and the sentiment (Brightest Glow stamp set) in Gray Granite ink. The clouds are from the Waves dies and the Mountains are cut by hand from Gray Granite card. The snow caps are cut by hand and then one of the Sentiment Silhouettes dies is used to cut the bottoms to look like snow! The caravan is die cut and glued together then added with Dimensionals. The grass is cut from 2022-24 In Color Glimmer paper for a little sparkle.

On the card base, some Balmy Blue card is adhered with Multipurpose glue, then the mountains are adhered so they appear behind the top layer. The top layer is added with Foam Adhesive Strips.

I was inspired by a card on Pinterest by Maureen Ruangchamneil, who created a similar card using Non-SU products.

Heart of Christmas begins for 2022!

Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

July is a great time to start making those Christmas cards before the year gets away from us, and it’s Christmas before we know it!

When I first saw the JD Mini catalogue, I fell in love with the Storybook Gnomes Suite (#159630) and they were the first items to drop into my shopping cart!

I love how the images on the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper can be cut out using the Gnomes dies. The trees are from a Saleabration product Tree Lot dies, that can be earned free with a qualifying order). The are cut from the Parakeet Party colour in 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer papers and the 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series paper. The gnomes hat and feet are die cut from the left over paper around the sheet I die cut the gnomes from. His nose is also the Glimmer paper (Tahitian Tide). The beard is Shimmery White cardstock. The Fabulous Frames dies was used to cut the oval in the centre of the DSP. The stamping inside the oval uses Pacific Point ink.

This next card uses some DSP and then I stamped/die cut the mushroom and gnome. These are coloured with alcohol Blends Combo markers. then added with dimensionals to the card. The sentiment is stamped in Balmy Blue ink.

Some red and white Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics are added and set aside to dry.

These next two cards can be made in multiples as they are created using the Storybook Designer Paper. No sign of stamps or ink, just the paper and Gnome dies! Some Simply Elegant Trim and 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots were added for some bling.

Metallic Deer for a Masculine Christmas card

Week 29 – Misty Moonlight

This would have to be my all time favourite blue in the history of Stampin’ Up! colours. It goes with everything and it happens to be my dad’s favourite colour, so this card will be for him!

The Deer Builder Punch is so easy to use with the Silver Foil. I added one of the Wonderful Snowflakes behind it on two strips of the Whimsy and Wonder Specialty DSP (unfortunately this has sold out, but you could use any patterned paper really).

The sentiment is stamped on an offcut piece of Basic White cardstock and and snip the ends to reflect a banner.

A Basic White card insert on the inside is decorated with some Misty Moonlight cardstock and a narrow strip of the holigraphic striped DSP.

Eden’s Garden Christmas Fancy Fold

Today’s card features some of the new exclusive early release Eden’s Garden Collection which is available to purchase now! In this collection there is the Eden’s Garden Cling stamp set and Eden dies (can be purchased as a bundle to save more), the Ever Eden Specialty DSP, Garden Gems and Ever Eden Cotton Paper. Today I am using the gorgeous Ever Eden Specialty DSP, in this fun Double Box Fancy Fold design.

Gold Metallic card was used with the Deer Builder Punch and some Red Foil for Rudolph’s nose!

The gorgeous Encircled in Beauty die was used to place the deer on top of with dimensionals. The layer behind that is run through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Stitched Greenery die. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Deer stamp set.

Week 28 – Mint Macaron

I just adore this gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Designer Paper with it’s shiny accents and I have used it in different ways on this card. A strip matted on some Polished Pink cardstock down the centre then a die cut piece behind the sentiment. Both of these are cut using the Tasteful Labels dies.

The word Joy was stamped multiple times and I just eyeballed it. You could probably use the Stamparatus to line them up properly if you wanted to.

Here are a few more designs using this same suite of products; the first few are the same design with various patterned papers from the same pack. Very easy for making multiples of and just add different embellisments.

Week 27 – Merry Merlot

Tonight we are featuring this gorgeous deep tone, which reminds me so much of a rich glass of red wine!!

My card base and poinsettia flowers are Merry Merlot with Evening Evergreen leaves (these are die cut with the same die). The twigy pieces are cut from the Snowy White Velvet Sheets and the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Papers. I used the White Chalk Marker to add dots to the petals.

The background layer is Shimmery White cardstock (for extra sparkle), dry embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D TIEF in the Cut & Emboss Machine. Two corners rounded with the Detailed Trio Punch.

The Tailor Made Tag dies cut out the sentiment (Christmas to Remember stamp set) and I curled it around a pen before adhering it to the card on dimensionals.

The inside is decorated in a similar way with two corners rounded, a simple sentiment stamped with a poinsettia in the bottom corner.

Each Monday evening since early July, I have taken part in the Heart of Christmas blog hop showcasing our amazing range of holiday products from the Annual and July-December Mini catalogues. Please hop along for the final time this year and enjoy some fabulous inspiration from our talented team. I cannot believe where these last 22 weeks have gone, but I have enjoyed every minute of creating Christmas projects for you.

Do you love gingerbread cookies at Christmas time? I do, and that is exactly what I have added to my card… well, not the real thing, but what looks like the cookies I make and ice with my children every year!!!

The Gingerbread dies and Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with some Heartwarming Hugs DSP create some cute cards for the festive season. The Kraft paper creates the perfect cookie with some Basic White and Real Red icing on top!

The sentiment (Peaceful Deer stamp set) is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink to coordinate with the card base.
