Tonight I have a Christmas card and ornament to share with you. I love this Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper and it makes the most gorgeous decorations to hang on your tree this festive season. This paper is part of the 15% off sale on right now!

01-10-20_DSP_SALE

Here is my card predominantly using the DSP with very little stamping; in fact the car and the wreath on the house are the only stamped images.

To go with my card is this Shaker Ornament using the same suite

Using 3 sizes of circle dies, you will need to cut the following pieces;
Largest die: Blue base (pictured with ribbon), the blue ring (top piece), Foam Sheet, DSP
Middle die: Foam sheet & Window Sheet
Smallest die: cut the centre of the top piece & cut the centre of the foam sheet

Glue the ribbon to the base piece (shown above) then glue the DSP circle over the top. I cut out some of the trees and house from another piece of the DSP and glued these on, along with a stamped sentiment.

Glue the window sheet onto the blue ring

Place the foam circle on top of the window sheet.

Add some tiny clear beads to the centre of the ornament and very carefully place the above piece on top.

Then tie a bow and add it to the top to finish it off.

Have I inspired you to make some decorations for your tree this Christmas?

Most Wonderful Time in the Pine Woods

The Most Wonderful Time Product Medley is fantastic value, especially if you are just starting out on your stamping journey or just need everything coordinating with one product code to order! You get the card, designer paper, Embellishments, stickers, dies and stamp set!

For my card today, I have used the pretty deer paper with the gold foil accents as my base.

The Pine Woods dies are so pretty too and I’ve used them today on this card, but you could just use the ones in the medley!

The banner I created myself with the Triple Banner Punch for the ends and I just score 2 lines either side of the sentiment, ¼” apart. I did stamp the sentiment first, then created the folds and added a dimensional behind the sentiment so it sat up. The gold stars are also part of the Medley!

Coming Home with Stamping in the Round (SITR)

Here I am back with another SITR card with a Christmas theme – the Coming Home stamp set and coordinating Trimming the Town Designer Paper is just beautiful. This Designer Paper pack is on sale for the month of October saving you 15%, so make sure you add it to your next order!

Using the Stamparatus, and a template I created myself, I placed the 4″ x 4″ piece of white card on top of the template. Starting with the house image, stamp it once, rotate the card 90o, stamp again and repeat the process. The I placed the tree and the stars in position and repeated the process.

Once all the stamping is done, I then coloured the images with Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Greetings stamp set and cut out with the 1½” circle punch and layered onto a Misty Moonlight die cut from the Tasteful Labels dies.

Christmas, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

Traditional Christmas card to Cherish the Season

Today’s Christmas card is an easy one to create and make multiples of during the silly season!

The card base is Thick Whisper White (although you cannot see it) as I have placed a piece of Gold Foil over the entire card front. The Plaid Tidings DSP is the next layer, a lovely piece for Christmas. This Designer Paper pack is on sale for the month of October saving you 15%, so make sure you add it to your next order!

I have stamped these bells in Versamark Ink onto Cherry Cobbler card, added Gold Emboss Powder and heat set it. The same process for the sentiment, although I fussy cut this one. I die cut the Cherry Cobbler card with the Nested Stitched Labels dies and cut one end off before adhering to the card.

The foliage is die cut from Just Jade card and glued above the bells. I tied some of the gold thread in a bow and added this at the very end with glue to allow it to dry. I find that the Multipurpose Glue is the strongest adhesive to hold this thread.

Christmas, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), Fancy Folds, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

Cherish the Season meets Trimming the Town

Today’s Christmas card is another Bridge Fold card that will fold flat to fit into a C6 envelope!

These bells are super pretty when cut in Silver Foil and hanging from the top of the card with some of the green foliage. These are actually glued to the front of the window sheet to show the Designer Paper behind.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and I used the Stamparatus so I could ink the image multiple times to achieve a nice dark colour. The Rectangle Stitched dies were used to cut it out.

I die cut the bells a second time in Old Olive card and replaced the holly inlaid in the bells. The red strip across the bells is Poppy Parade cardstock.

Measurements
Card base: 15cm x 14.8cm, score (landscape) at 2.5cm, 4.5cm, 10.5cm, 12.5cm
DSP: 2.2cm x 14.8cm (2 pieces), 6cm x 14.8cm
Window Sheet: 9cm x 14.8cm

Heart of Christmas image

Tonight I have a fun fancy fold card. It is a landscape bridge fold design but in the slimline style, which is all the rage right now. I love this Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper. You may remember it from last year, as it was part of the Brightly Gleaming Suite and it was super popular so it stayed, yay!!!

The only stamping is the two holly leaves which were fussy cut and coloured with the Wink of Stella to pick up a little of the wet Mossy Meadow ink.

The letters are die cut in Pretty Peacock card and added to the sheet of acetate which covers the front of the card with Stampin’ Seal. I then added Fine Tip Glue to the holly berries and each of the letters for that lustrous shine! A couple of Star Designer Elements are added either side of the Merry.

This card folds flat to fit into a standard DL Business Size envelope!

Measurements:
Card Base: 8¼” x 5½” score short edge at 1”, 1¾”, 3¾”, 4½”
DSP: 8¼” x ⅞” (2) and 8¼” x 1⅞”
Window Sheet: 8¼” x 3¾”

Christmas, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

Cherish the Season SITR

Christmas is definitely going to be a different Christmas this year. With the pandemic causing chaos, we are still not out of Stage 4 isolation here in Melbourne. Luckily the weather was rather cold, windy and raining for much of the weekend, so it kept us indoors. Thankfully I have lots of hobbies to keep me occupied 😉

This card uses the Stamparatus and the Cherish the Season stamp set in this lovely combination of colour.

I set up the largest of the bells in the Stamparatus, stamped it once in Gray Granite, before rotating the 4″ x 4″ card 90 degrees and stamping it again, continuing this process of stamping in the round (SITR). Then I added the smaller bell and repeated the process.

Once the stamping was complete, I used the Wink of Stella to colour all the bells (unfortunately the photos don’t show the amazing glimmer it gives). Then I added some colour with Gray Granite and Merry Merlot, picking up some colour from the inkpad using the Wink of Stella.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, white emboss powder added and then heat set. It was cut out using the Rectangle Stitched dies. The tiny bell is die cut in Silver Foil and added with a dimensionals and a little white twine bow added.

The mat layer of Merry Merlot card was embossed with the Scripty 3D embossing folder before being glued to the card base and the centre layer glued on top.

Christmas, Handmade Cards, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Most Wonderful Time for Beginner Stampers

Do you sometimes get a bit overwhelmed with product choice, especially when you are starting out?

Well fear no more, because this product medley, has most of the product included in the kit. Just add cardstock, adhesive and inks to complete your projects.

  • The Most Wonderful Time Product Medley includes these exclusive products:
  • Most Wonderful Time photopolymer stamp set – 11 stamps; suggested clear blocks (sold separately): b, d, g)
  • 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2cm) Designer Series Paper, 8 each of 6 double-sided designs
  • 12 gold foil card fronts, 4 each of 3 designs
  • 7 sticker sheets
  • Gold/white tinsel trim, 10 yards (9.1m)
  • 58 adhesive-backed gold faceted stars
  • 6-piece Most Wonderful Time Dies (use with a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, AC p. 170)

Product colours: Basic Black, Old Olive, Real Red, White, Gold foil

This card I have kept very simple, aimed at the beginner stamper. A Real Red card base folded in half with a strip of the patterned paper down the centre. This paper has a gold foil accent on the trees, which adds a classy look.

The banner and the deer are both stickers, so very easy to add. Stamp the tree onto a Stitched Oval in Old Olive ink then using the Wink of Stella pen, colour the image while the ink is still wet. This will pick up some of the colour and blend beautifully (I don’t think you can see the glittery look in the photos). Add one of the gold stars to the top of the tree to finish off.

Peace on Earth this Christmas

With everything that is going on in the world this year with Covid and in Melbourne we are still in lock-down, I thought this was a rather appropriate card for Christmas 2020.

Dove of Hope & World Map by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2020

The Old World Paper 3D embossing folder in the background on the Misty Moonlight card gives a beautiful soft texture and an almost water effect behind the globe.

The globe is die cut from the World of Good DSP which has gold foil accents on it which shine through the layer. I also used some Brushed Foil along the sides of the Seaside Spray panel.

Dove of Hope & World Map by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2020.

The dove is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on white card and die cut, then popped up on dimensionals, and check out those gorgeous Blue Gems!!!

On the inside I simply stamped the sentiment and a couple of the baubles for extra Christmas cheer!

Tonight I have a Christmas Angel for you using the Dove of Hope bundle and the Stitched Triangle dies. The card base is White with a layer of Misty Moonlight, then some of the In Good Taste DSP. Check out that texture – it really looks like a painted canvas background!!!!

The Peace, Joy, Love is White heat embossed on Misty Moonlight card, fussy cut and added with mini dimensionals.

Christmas Angel by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2020 Aug-Dec Mini catalogue Dove of Hope

To create the Angel – her head is cut out using the 1-1/4″ circle punch which I then put into the Gleaming Ornaments punch to take the top part off for her hair. I coloured this with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends Marker and then glued it back onto the head!

I am terrible at drawing faces, so I used some punches to add some detail. The eyes are punched using the Whale Builder Punch, and her halo is using the Vases Builder Punch in Gold Foil. I did need to draw her tiny mouth using the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker.

A simple sentiment stamped in Misty Moonlight and a strip of patterned paper and gold foil adhered to the bottom, finishes the card nicely.
