Crazy About You

Dear Crafters,

I am going to share a card with you today of a colour combination that I don’t usually put together, but in fact, I have fallen in love with!

I have used two Bundles from the Occasions Catalogue and with each bundle you can save 15%.

The 1st bundle is Crazy About You stamp set and the Hello You Thinlits, and the 2nd bundle is Petal Potpourri stamp set and the coordinating Flower Medallion punch.

Flowers make me happy and this card certainly is a bright and happy card.

Petal Potpourri Crazy About You Stampin' Up!

The base card is Hello Honey with a layer of Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper.

The flowers are stamped in Hello Honey ink on the coordinating card stock and punched out using the coordinating Flower Medallion Punch. I used dimensionals to add the flowers to the card, slightly overlapping them, after adding some Hello Honey ribbon and bow.

Petal Potpourri Crazy About You Stampin' Up!

I added the “happy” die cut from the Hello You Thinlits and added it with Tombo Glue. The “birthday” sentiment is stamped and punched with the Word Window punch.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope!

I would love you to comment below with your thoughts on this card.

Celebrate Today at JAI

Hello Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an inspiration challenge JAI#250.

My immediate reaction to this image was Valentine’s Day, but that was celebrated yesterday, so I changed to a birthday theme. There are so many birthday celebrations, so I know this card won’t last too long in my stash!

I have also had this idea of making an interactive moving card for so long now, that today was the day to give it a go. I didn’t know the mechanics of it, but gave it a shot of trial and error. Simply pull the flag tab and the balloons move across the card from left to right. Push it back in and the balloons drift back! I have no idea what the name of this technique is, but it was fun to make.

Celebrate Today

I have this Celebrate Today stamp set in photopolymer and it is the ideal type for 2-step stamping, as the stamp is completely clear and you can see exactly where to stamp the second image! Awesome!

The base card is Black with a layer of balloons stamped in Strawberry Slush ink and then stamped again with Blackberry Bliss ink. The hearts on the left balloon were sponged with a dauber using the Heart Mask. The banner is die cut from Glimmer paper as are the tassels.

The sentiment is inked with Versamark and silver embossing powder applied and heat set.

Celebrate Today

Be sure tho decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope helps tie it all together!

Please leave a comment below, if you think my card met this challenge.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Petal Potpourri

Dear Crafters,

Petal Potpourri Bundle & Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper

You may be thinking, why do I need another flower stamp set and coordinating punch? Well, I said the same thing when I first saw this in the catalogue, but once I saw what could be done with it, it was on my next order!

Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and Flower Medallion Punch saving you 15% when you purchase them together as a bundle!

I also really love these Something Borrowed DSP of Whisper White and Sahara Sand. At only $18.95 for 12 sheets; 4 each of 3 double sided designs, 30.5cm x 30.5cm. They can be found on pg 42 of the Occasions catalogue.

I initially saw this card on Pinterest by Mudmaven Designs, but I wanted a slightly more subtle look so I used lighter colours.

Petal Potporri

I stamped the flower image in Versamark onto Sahara Sand card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The second flower is stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Sahara Sand card stock and cut in half to create the lovely border across the centre of the card. I just love the delicateness of the doilies.

This is a close up showing the detail. A button with linen thread tied through it in a bow was added with a dimensional.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card!

Butterfly Beauty

Hello Crafters,

Oh wow, I couldn’t wait to get this stamp set from the minute I saw it in the Occasions catalogue, and it hasn’t disappointed!

Butterfly Basics with the coordinating Butterfly Framelits can be purchased as a Bundle saving you 15%. But you can buy them separately also.  The stamp set is available in Wood, Clear or Photopolymer and I bought it in the Photopolymer.

And here is my card that I have made using many of the items in this bundle.

Butterfly Basics

I have used Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz with some Crumb Cake as my colour palette and the sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

Here is a close up. I love the vellum look underneath the butterfly. I added this after I die cut the butterfly, by gluing the butterfly onto a piece of vellum and then cutting it out.

Butterfly Basics     Butterfly Basics

Be sure to decorate the inside on your card also!

Butterfly Basics

What do you think? I love these colours together, they are so soft and subtle.

Hot Air Balloon

Dear Crafters,

My last post was all about travel and today is no exception!

I have never been in a hot air balloon, but I can only imagine how it must be to fly up in the sky above everything and be so free. Who knows, one day I may get that chance!

Celebrate Today is such a versatile set and can be purchased as a Bundle (stamps & coordinating dies) saving you 15% off.

Celebrate Today

The background is embossed using the Decorative Dots TIEF. I used the Celebrate Today stamps for the sentiment.

The balloons are die cut using the Big Shot and I made 5 images all exactly the same. Fold each balloon in half and then glue to each other. Very simple but so effective!

Stamp the bottom part of the balloon using Stampin’ Write Markers.

I tied a piece of twine at the bottom of the balloon before using Tombo Glue to adhere to the card.

Celebrate Today

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card too!

The Occasions Catalogue & Sale-a-bration brochure sale begins on 6th January!

Celebrate Today

Dear Crafters,

I cannot believe this is the last day of 2014 and tomorrow is a New Year!!!!

I wish everyone a safe and happy time tonight as we enter into 2015 and see you on the other side.

It was a very close friends birthday last Sunday and I wanted to share the card I made for her. She loves purple, but I really wanted to try something different.

Celebrate Today

I have used Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Whisper White with the coordinating card stock.

I stamped the balloons, banner and tassels onto Whisper White card and used the coordinating dies (you can purchase the Celebrate Today stamp set and dies together to save and extra 15% off).

Celebrate Today

The designer paper is some of the Moonlight DSP. The Celebrate Today bundle will be available from 6th January.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card ~ it really does finish the project off nicely.

Who’s turning 94 today?

Dear Crafters,

I cannot believe that my Nanna is turning 94 today, but I wish her a very happy birthday and look forward to taking her out for lunch today!

I have made her a card using Painted Petals Stamp Set from the new Occasions catalogue, available to purchase from 6th January (yay, next week!!!)

Painted Petals

I have used Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White with the coordinating card stock.

I dry embossed the base card with the Spring Flowers TIEF, isn’t it gorgeous?!!!

The next 2 layers are die cut using the Banners Framelits and sponging the edges with coordinating inks and sponge daubers. Then the ribbon is added across the top.

Painted Petals

I stamped the flowers and leaves onto Whisper White card and used the large oval punch and a larger oval framelit to create the ovals. I pieced the dots around the larger oval of vellum with a piercer and piercing mat.

The designer paper is some of the Painted Petals DSP. Most of these items will be available from 6th January.

Painted Petals

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and even use a corner punch of alternating corners ~ it really does finish the project off nicely.

Flower Patch

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you a card I have made for the mum of a close friend of mine. I always remember her birthday because it is Halloween, but today it is a special birthday. I cannot believe that she is the age she is, so I will just call it a big ‘0’ birthday! Anyway, happy big ‘0’ birthday Mrs Nerra!!!!!

I know how much she loves her garden and her flowers, so I had to use the Flower Patch and coordinating Flower Fair Framelits.

Flower Patch

The base Bermuda Bay and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. The banners are framelits and I used them with the Strawberry Slush DSP Stack and some vellum.

I stamped the Flower Patch Stamps with Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride inks and the leaves are Pistachio Pudding and Bermuda Bay. These are all die cut using the Flower Fair Framelits.

I also added some gold sequins for a bit of bling and the Happy Blooming Birthday sentiment was just perfect for this occasion!

Flower Patch

I added some of the stamps to the bottom corner of the inside of the card. I always decorate the inside as it just ties the whole card together.

Bokeh Hearts

Hello Crafters,

With the gorgeous evenings with daylight savings, I love being outside in the evenings and looking up at the stars! The Bokeh technique sure reminds me of the stars, but in this card, I wanted to try it with hearts instead. I used Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum with the Hearts Decorative Mask and sponge daubers.

Hearts Decorative Mask     Hearts Decorative Mask

Then I wanted to try this same technique using circles! Instead of using the Circles Decorative Mask, I took a piece of acetate and punched holes into it with different size Stampin’ Up! circle punches. This card uses Crisp Canteloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party & Marina Mist.

Bokeh Technique

Then I wondered if I could make a Christmas card using this same technique, and guess what? It worked!

I used the Festival of Trees Stamp Set and coordinating punch. This card uses some of the 2014-2016 In Colours of Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey & Mossy Meadow.

Bokeh Festival of Trees

I think this is a stunning technique and I am loving the backgrounds. I know I will definitely be creating more of these!

This background is very cheap and easy to create, why don’t you give it a go too.

Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you a card that I made for a 60th Birthday for a lady who loves red and white! I think I have managed to maintain that brief and add some gorgeous flowers and a little bling!

Petite Petals

I stamped the Petite Petals flower image onto the envelope as well as the card! I just love to coordinate the envelopes, it’s a nice touch!

Petite Petals

I added some pearls and gold embossing to the Petite Petals flowers that I stamped on red card and used the coordinating punch.
