Floating Balloons

I shared this technique on Tuesday in the Terracotta Tile and Mosaic Mood DSP, and this one was a little easier that I taught at my last class.

We just used the Balloon Bouquet Punch in cardstock colours; Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point & Poppy Parade.

This was a lovely bright colour scheme to suite either feminine or masculine occasions. Wouldn’t any child love this one?!!

Once we had the balloons all stuck down, we covered them with the Wink of Stella for that gorgeous shimmer.

The sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set and inked in Pacific Point.

Celebrate Today at JAI

Hello Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an inspiration challenge JAI#250.

My immediate reaction to this image was Valentine’s Day, but that was celebrated yesterday, so I changed to a birthday theme. There are so many birthday celebrations, so I know this card won’t last too long in my stash!

I have also had this idea of making an interactive moving card for so long now, that today was the day to give it a go. I didn’t know the mechanics of it, but gave it a shot of trial and error. Simply pull the flag tab and the balloons move across the card from left to right. Push it back in and the balloons drift back! I have no idea what the name of this technique is, but it was fun to make.

Celebrate Today

I have this Celebrate Today stamp set in photopolymer and it is the ideal type for 2-step stamping, as the stamp is completely clear and you can see exactly where to stamp the second image! Awesome!

The base card is Black with a layer of balloons stamped in Strawberry Slush ink and then stamped again with Blackberry Bliss ink. The hearts on the left balloon were sponged with a dauber using the Heart Mask. The banner is die cut from Glimmer paper as are the tassels.

The sentiment is inked with Versamark and silver embossing powder applied and heat set.

Celebrate Today

Be sure tho decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope helps tie it all together!
