Balloons galore

Dear Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an Inspiration Challenge JAI#265.

What better way to celebrate the birth of a baby girl, than with balloons and hearts. Yes I know, everyone will probably do birthday cards with the balloon inspiration photo, but I wanted to mix it up!

And besides, my cousin had a baby girl last week and it inspired me to try this.

Balloon Framelits Stampin' Up!

I also wanted to share with you something else I have been practicing, and that is my little Sailor’s Knot in the thick baker’s twine. You can see it at the bottom of the card, cute hey!!!!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside panel along with a coordinating envelope!

Very Hungry Caterpillar

Dear Crafters,

Layered Letters Alphabet Stamp Set

Create your own messages, personalize cards, and more. Use the letters alone or stamp them over the rectangle and circle solid shapes. This is a set you’ll use over and over again. Our top-quality photopolymer stamps have just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time. They’re entirely transparent for perfect image placement, and they adhere well to our clear blocks. You’ll only need one set of blocks for all your photopolymer stamps (blocks sold separately). The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Layered Letters Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp (138692) Price: $47.00 Suggested clear block b (sold separately)

But guess what? I’m not using the letters today, well actually just not as they are intended!

Check out this little fella ~ does he remind you of anyone in particular? Yes, the Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Layered Letters Hungry Caterpillar

I have used our new In Colours to create this card.

The base card is Cucumber Crush with a layer of Watermelon Wonder.

Layered Letters Hungry Caterpillar

The stamped images (solid circle) are using the same colours with Tip Top Taupe on Whisper White cardstock.

His eyes are punched out with the circle punch and the dot from the ! is used to create the eyeballs and the nose!

His legs are the ends of the I and the antennae is the letter V!!!!

Layered Letters Hungry Caterpillar

On the inside of the card, I stamped 3 plums in Perfect Plum ink (of course) and the stems are top half of the letter L.

Let me know what you think of this card!

This is not my original idea, but CASED from Carolina Evans of Studio Evans!

Sorry they have a bit of reflection, but I seal them into plastic bags so they stay nice and clean and don’t get ruined in my bag travelling.

Stampin' Up! Owl Balloon  Stampin' Up! Owl Balloon  Stampin' Up! Owl Balloon

I have embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock with the Large Polka Dot TIEF. The balloons are die cut from the Balloon Framelits which are still available in the Occasions Catalogue. These are embossed with the Lucky Stars TIEF or Decorative Dots TIEF. The sentiments are stamped from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.

The owl is made using the Owl Builder Punch and Sahara Sand card stock and coordinating Designer Series Paper. His wings are made using the wings from the Bird Builder Punch. It’s a Girl!

Dear Crafters,

With loads of my friends and work colleagues who are pregnant at the moment, I thought I had better stock up on some baby cards. Not knowing if they are having a boy or a girl, I thought I had better do a few of each!!!!

I just love this cute Happy Heart embossing folder, so needed to include some on my baby cards. I have used the colours Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Real Red along with some of the Stacked With Love DSP.

Baby Girl

I stamped the jumpsuit with one of the images from Something For Baby, and die cut it with the coordinating Baby’s First Framelits. These two products can be purchased as a bundle saving you 15%.

Baby Girl

I added a heart punched from some Real Red Core’dinations card stock using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope!

Something for Baby

Hello Crafters,

I want to say a big sorry for missing in action over the past 2 weeks. I have been quite unwell, but now I am back and ready to share some wonderful ideas with you all!

I begin with a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is a Colour Combination Challenge JAI#231.

My dear younger sister had her third baby last week, a little boy to add to the two girls she already had! It was such wonderful news and Mitchell is just adorable.

Anyway, I saw these colours and immediately thought baby card, so here it is.

I began with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a layer of Crushed Curry cardstock.

Something for Baby W'eve Grown

The next layer is Whisper White, the best cardstock for stamping on by far. I sponged the stars at the top using a sponge dauber and the stars decorative mask, then punched the side of the cardstock with the new stars border punch. Isn’t it just gorgeous?!!!

I stamped the pram from the Something For Baby stamp set in crushed curry onto the white card and again on some spare white card twice. I also stamped the pram in Bermuda Bay ink onto white card and cut out just the bassinet of the pram and added it with dimensionals.

The two yellow images on the spare card, I cut out the hood of the pram from each and folded them and put them together with glue.

I added some ribbon, tied it in a bow towards the bottom, so the sentiment could be added above it.

Something for Baby We've Grown     Something for Baby W'eve Grown

The sentiment is from the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set inked in black and punched out with the decorative label punch. The little stars on the sentiment are bits out of the stars border punch, so cute hey?!!!

I glued the white card to the crushed curry card and then used dimensionals to add them to the base card.

I didn’t feel it looked quite finished and it needed something, so I added a little of the silver glimmer paper which was an off cut from another project.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Baby Cards (boy & girl)

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you some quick and easy baby cards using the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set.

I am just loving this set of stamps with 6 images, only 4 I have used!

The colour scheme is: Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake!

IMG_4813

The card base is Crumb Cake.  I stamped each of the images onto Very Vanilla cardstock using a Soft Suede inkpad. I coloured parts of the images with the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker and sponged all the edges.

IMG_4814     IMG_4809

The background was created by inking the inside of Petals a Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and placing the cardstock over the top being careful not to move it. Rub it gently then remove it slowly, so you don’t smudge the image. It is another fantastic technique for using your TIEFs!!!

I added some Vintage ribbon and some pearls to finish it off.

I then decided to make one for a baby boy using the same colours but exchanging the Pink Pirouette for Soft Sky and here it is!

Baby Cards

Hello Crafters,

I have a few people who are close to me who are enjoying this time in their lives, expecting another baby, so today I want to share with you a couple of cards for both a boy and a girl!

The colours used here are Soft Sky & Pink Pirouette with White. To me, these colours just scream baby!

I have used some of the images from the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set and the Woodgrain background Stamp.

Baby We've Grown

Five Way Flower

Hello Crafters,

Following on from yesterdays card, I thought it would be nice to make a card for the first time Grandparents, whose daughter had a baby girl this week!

Naturally it had to be pinks and as I hadn’t used my Five Way Flower (#131088) stamp yet, I thought it was time to ink it up!

Five Way Flower

I stamped the image onto white, twice in Melon Mambo and twice in Blushing Bride. Using the scallop circle punches, I punched a layer from each of the images, alternating the colours.

The background is die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits (#126999) in Blushing Bride card.

I didn’t have any coordinating ribbon, but I did have some very vanilla taffeta, so I took to it with the Melon Mambo ink pad!

The sentiment I typed on the computer and punched out with Large Oval (#119855) and layered onto the Scallop Oval (#119856).

To finish it off, I coloured a pearl using the blushing bride stampin’ write marker and placed it into the centre of the flower.

This is a very simple, but effective card and I am sure the new grandparents will love it, just as much as their new bundle of joy!
