Grassy Grove with Torn paper technique

2022-23 CCBH Logo

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 22 – Garden Green

Today I am using the Grassy Grove Bundle. The torn paper technique, recently shared with a member of The Crafty Carrot team, is super effective. I’ve used it in the background with Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape & Soft Succulent.

The dies were used to cut out the tree layer in Garden Green cardstock, before dry embossing it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The I took a Blending Brush and added colour to the top half to give it a little more depth. The tree layer is added to the card with Mini Dimensionals/Adhesive Strips.

The deer are die cut from some Brushed Metallic cardstock and added with Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

On the inside I added some stamped tree images and a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. onto a Basic White insert.

Here is a surprise card to share with you, as I have extra time this week while on school holidays. The Stitched Greenery die creates the beautiful background with the Hues of Happiness DSP doesn’t need anything extra, as it is stunning on its own!

The Very Vanilla card is 10.5cm x 24.9cm, score at 8.3cm & 16.6cm. The sentiment is from the Blessings of Home stamp set. This is a very easy card to create with a few basic products.

  1. What a blessing to have some extra crafting time, and we reap the benefits with some lovely cards to admire. So much wonderful detail on the first, and then the delight of that gorgeous DSP on the second.

  2. Oh wow Kate – 2 delightful cards. Both so gorgeous and so different. I love your embossed die cut Forrest trees with the torn cardstock background giving a sense of dimension. The Fancy Fold 2nd card is simply gorgeous too. The front panel sits so well on the Stitched Greenery Garden Green panel. Xxx

  3. Two beautiful cards, Kate! I love the additional sponged colour on the Garden Green die-cut and embossed panel, on your first card. Great choice of dies! Your second card is a delightful fancy fold, featuring that gorgeous DSP. Nice choice of sentiment and Stitched Greenery Die (I used the same! LOL).

  4. Oh how wonderful to have not one but two gorgeous cards from you this week, Kate. Your torn technique card is stunning, especially with the blended colour on the top half of the large die cut. I love added surprise of the fancy fold on the Hues of Happiness DSP too.
