Each Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.
My card designs today are very simple, but with Vanilla and Gold, they have loads of shine!
Card 1
The Lights Aglow Specialty Designer paper in the background has the gold accents. Then I also swiped my Versamark ink pad around all edges, sat it in some Gold Emboss Powder, removed any excess before heat setting it. Doesn’t it look great without adding bulk of an extra layer of card.
I repeated this same process on the centre panel. The Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set was used with the Stamparatus to line up the sentiment, although being photopolymer, the images are clear so you can line them up easily. The outline is Gold embossed and then I used my Soft Succulent ink for the solid image.
Here you can see the gold embossing better in the sentiment and around the edges, also the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the hat and the Fine Tip Glue on the lights!
Card 2
This card features more of the Lights Aglow Specialty DSP, with the panel down the left and the Christmas tree is cut from my favourite design. I thought it was perfect as I didn’t need to decorate the tree!
The card base is dry embossed with the Wintry 3D folder. Some Gold Shimmer Ribbon is wrapped around the Vanilla DSP, then a bow tied on the front. This panel is adhered with Stampin’ Seal. The tree is added on Dimensionals as is the star on top. The base is die cut from the gold Brushed Metallic cardstock and glued to the card – just look at that detail?!!! It is so gorgeous in metallics!
The sentiment from the Trees for Sale stamp set are stamped in Versamark ink, gold emboss powder added and then melted with my Heat Tool. I used my Paper Snips to cut around the words, then glued to the tree.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me next week for more Christmas inspiration!

Your cards are fabulous Kate. I really like them both, especially the way that you diecut the tree from the garland paper. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh I love both of your cards Kate! I especially love the effect of the gold embossed edges on the first card and really love the Christmas Tree basket in the Brushed gold

How gorgeous does that Lights Aglow Specialty Designer paper look after you’ve used your Versamark and Gold Emboss Powder to add the extra shimmer! Wow, Kate, not one but two amazing cards and they are both so different but equally beautiful. The very vanilla on the second card just adds instant elegance too.

Loving both of your cards Kate to showcase the Lights Aglow DSP. So many different elements and embellishments on each card too. I especially love the puff paint and bauble gems.

Oh, how beautiful both of your cards are! I haven’t played with Jingle Jingle Jingle for a while, and now you’ve inspired me to dust it off.

Two lovely cards, Kate. You’re right – gold-embossing the edges of your paper/card panels adds a really elegant touch, without adding bulk. Your use of puff paint and fine-tip glue is super-cute.
On your second card, the embossed background, the DSP tree and the gorgeous pot/base of the tree are all lovely details.
