Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.
Week 8 – Bermuda Bay
Tonight’s fancy fold card features the Count on Me stamp set, Perfectly Penciled DSP and the Butterfly Kisses DSP. The Perfectly Penciled DSP has Black & White images that can be coloured. I have used Bermuda Bay and Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers.
First step is to stamp the outline of the bear onto Basic White card using the Stamparatus and Crumb Cake ink. Re-ink and stamp a second time to get a darker colour, then take the rectangle stamp from the Watercolour Shapes stamp set, ink it up with Crumb Cake ink and stamp over the entire image. This gives the bear a wonderful colour. Using Paper Snips, fussy cut close to the outline stamping. The circle is stamped with the round shape from the Watercolour Shapes stamp set with Bermuda Bay ink, then cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies. The heart is cut using the Give it a Whirl dies in the same Butterfly Kisses DSP. Linen Thread and the In Color Gems are added for extra texture and sparkle!
Here is the card opening up – the right hand side cardstock is adhered under the White insert.
and fully open – as you can see, I’ve added a white insert with another strip of the DSP that is coloured with the Blends Markers and a couple more smaller heart die cuts.
Measurements:
Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 14.5cm x 18.5cm score landscape side @ 8cm
Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 10.5cm x 10.5cm score @ 2cm
Perfectly Penciled DSP: 14cm x 7.5cm & 14cm x 3cm
Butterfly Kisses DSP: 10cm x 8cm
Basic White card insert: 14cm x 10cm

Such a great fancy fold card Kate and Fresh Freesia goes beautifully with Bermuda Bay. Love the colouring of your bear too and the explanation of how you achieved that look.

Such a magical colour combination Kate, I do love this card. In fact, I’ve had to make a version of my own using papers and the flower and sentiment from Lovely & Lasting.

Oh how funny is that, that we both did the same fancy fold Kate. Yet our cards are so different. Love it.

You are so clever to stamp the colour for the bear. The texture the stamp has looks fabulous as bear fur. Your colour combo is gorgeous – I never would have put Fresh Freesia with Bermuda Bay, but it works so well!

Kate, this is a stunning card. I love your special trick of inking up the rectangle stamp from the Watercolour Shapes stamp set to stamp over the bear – it gives such a realistic effect. Fresh Freesia looks amazing with Bermuda bay and your colouring is superb! So much to love about this card!
