HOC Week 8 – Whimsy and Wonder Christmas

Heart of Christmas Blog Header 2021

Each Monday evening until mid-December, I am taking part in the Heart of Christmas blog hop showcasing our amazing range of holiday products from the Annual and July-December Mini catalogues. Please hop along and enjoy some fabulous inspiration from our talented team!

Tonight I have made cards using the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper. This is just stunning with the holographic accents and the non-traditional colours for Christmas.

These colours really appeal to me and I couldn’t wait to add them to my order.

Using the Stitched So Sweetly dies with Misty Moonlight card, I die cut the background label, then added a piece of Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon with some Stampin’ Seal, then one of the Wonderful Snowflakes on a dimensional, then a stamped Mint Macaron tree.

The sentiment on the inside is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set.

Card 2 – For this card, I covered the front of the card with Stampin’ Seal around the edges and a big X through the centre, before I cut 5/8″ x 6″ strips of the patterned paper. I added them from the top of the card and worked my way down using the extra length on either side to help place them and line them up perfectly. Don’t worry that they overhang, as once all the strips are adhered, cut off the excess using the Trimmer or Paper Snips. This is a great way to show all the patterns in a pack of Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper!

The trees are die cut in Basic White, Mossy Meadow & Mint Macaron. The stars are Blushing Bride and the tinsel is some of the new 12″x12″ Silver Foil. This comes in 3 shades snd this is the middle one, that has a slightly pinkish/purple shade to it.

Decorate the inside of your card as well.

  1. Kate your cards are a great way to showcase this stunning DSP. I just can’t stop looking at your second card – love, love, love those tiny those pink stars sparking on the tree!

  2. Great cards Kate. I love this suite (I’m waiting for mine to arrive in my coming BBB). You have used this gorgeous DSP beautifully. So love your laying behind the sentiment on your first card. The strips of DSP do make a delightful background. Both so lovely.

  3. Love both your cards Kate and how this beautiful DSP is highlighted with the strips in your second card. I love the first card with the bauble panel and the little layered group. The group of Chrissy trees in your second card are a real focal point for the strippy background.

  4. Such pretty cards, Kate! I especially like the second card, showing off lots of different paper designs … and I love how the tiny stars have dots in the centre, when die cut. I really like how differently you adorned each of the three trees. Lovely job!
