Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.
Week 21 – Highland Heather
Have you placed your order for the 15% off patterned papers on sale this month? Tonight’s card is made with the Snowflake Splendor DSP which is on sale and guess who bought it? ME!!! And it is so pretty in real life, you have to see it to believe it.
I am a big fan of these colours together, so even though I don’t have any of the other products in the suite, I think it can still be used with many of our other products available, including this cute stamp set that popped into my order last month during the one day Mega stamp sale!
Here I have used the Sunburst Technique which I shared recently in our Monthly Creative Showcase with the Whale of a Time DSP, but wanted to use this paper, as every sheet is gorgeous on both sides and I needed to show it all. This uses only one piece of 6″ x 6″.
How did I create the Sunburst? Take a piece of 12cm x 12cm card and using a pencil draw these lines; corner to corner and in half both sides.
Cut a piece of 6″ x 6″ patterned paper in half and each of these in half again to be 3″ x 3″ squares. Measure two sides and mark the centre with a pencil. Cut from each of these marks to the far corner (as shown below). Repeat on other squares.
Now you will have this. Turn over every second piece to show the opposite side of the paper (you may need to move pieces around to fit. It’s best to do this before you stick them down to the card base.
Add Stampin’ Seal over each of the pencil lines on your backing card and around the edges. Start placing the pieces, lining up the straight lines of each quarter.
Once you finished, it may not look perfect, but flip it over and trim off the edges with scissors or your Trimmer.
Now you can glue this piece to your card front and add your embellishments, sentiment and stamped image.
This stamp set, Warm & Toasty has super cute images and they are perfect for colouring with our Stampin’ Blends Markers.
I enjoyed making this so much, I made a second one with the polar bear!
