Celebrate Today ~ Travel

Dear Crafters,

Happy New Year!!!!

Seeing as it is holiday time here in Australia, although we are not going anywhere, I wanted to make some cards for those who may be heading off for their annual break.

I have a new product from the Occasions catalogue (on sale from 6th January) called Celebrate Today, and I wanted to incorporate the balloons into this card. Not only can these balloons be used for birthday celebrations, but I also imagined them as hot air balloons!

Celebrate Today

I used the World Map stamp as the background and sponged it with Soft sky ink.

The balloons are inked with soft sky, but before stamping, I kissed it against the World Map stamp, then onto the paper! What a great effect!!!! Next use the Big Shot to die cut the images.

Celebrate Today

I tied a piece of twine at the bottom of each balloon and stamped the sentiment from our Project Life range, Remember This stamp set. I added these with dimensionals.

Celebrate Today

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card too!

Yoda

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you a card I made for a birthday party my daughter went to on Saturday. I had no idea what to make for this 8 year old boy, so I went searching for ideas on Pinterest (my favourite place for brilliant ideas)!

I saw a card similar to this on ‘s blog in the UK.

This is a great card for any Star Wars fan!

Hope you are all enjoying the Melbourne Cup Carnival as I know I certainly am, as we have the Monday and Tuesday off work!!!

Work of Art

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you some cards created using the Work of Art Stamp Set. You may be like me and think “what on earth would I use that for?”. Well, let me show you what you can create! Now all of these cards I did in one afternoon and yes, I did have some inspiration from Jenny van Dijk a fellow SU demo.

First of all, I wanted to share a couple of cards that can be used for those who may be struggling with the terrible illnesses of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Breast Cancer.

Now for some quick Christmas cards!

Flower Patch Farewell

Hello Crafters,

Flower Patch would have to be one of my top 3 favourite stamp sets in the current annual catalogue and here is another card I have made for a work colleague who is sadly leaving us this week 😦

Flower Patch

I used Strawberry Slush card stock to create the base of the card. The next layer is white card stock and I stamped the leaves directly onto it in the top left corner.

I stamped the flowers onto white card using strawberry slush and pink pirouette inkpads before die cutting them out! I layered the blooms with dimensionals and added the sequin trim to the back before using more dimensionals to add it to the card front. I also added a single gold sequin to the centre of the flower!

Flower Patch

Flower Patch stamp set comes with 19 stamps in photopolymer (completely clear) to use on clear blocks and also has matching framelits called Flower Fair. These can be purchased in a bundle saving you 15%. Awesome value for a such a versatile set!

Here is another similar card I made using Marina Mist and Calypso Coral for the flower.

Traveler (part 3)

Hello Crafters,

Here is part 3 using the Traveler Stamp Set and World Map.

This cardstock colour is Lost Lagoon, one of the new 2014-2016 In Colours and I think it is just beautiful.

Traveler

The World Map image is coloured using sponge daubers and ink pads, in Pacific Point, Lost Lagoon and Wild Wasabi.

Traveler

This little anchor I found in a box stashed away for many years. I am not sure where I got them from, but I thought they just went with this card so well!

Traveler (part 2)

Hello Crafters,

Here is part 2 using the Traveler Stamp Set and another great background stamp, World Map.

I began by stamping the images onto white cardstock with Stazon Black Ink.

Traveler

The colours are Real Red & Pacific Point. I coloured the World Map image using the Aquapainter and ink pads.

Traveler

I love the mini Silver Brads around the ship image to give it a port hole look!

Traveler (part 1)

Hello Crafters,

Another new stamp set in the Annual Catalogue which I am excited to share with you, is the Traveler Stamp Set. Over the next few weeks, I will share with you some of my creations using this set.

I began with the ship image, as my in-laws are currently cruising the Mediterranean for 44 days on something probably similar. Yes I am rather jealous, so I thought I would be creative and make a card instead.

Traveler

This is a very simple card, as I think the Chevron embossing and the image say it all really.

I only wanted to colour part of the image to create a focal point with the coordinating ribbons.

Traveler

Be sure to check back next week to see more images from this wonderful Traveler Stamp set!

JAI#220 Sketch Challenge

Hello Crafters,

Today I finally get back into some crafting after a week or two on the sidelines so to speak!

I thought the best way to start, was with a challenge at Just Add Ink. So, the challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge JAI#220.

I am also using 2 of the new 2014-2015 In Colours; Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey & Tangelo Twist.

My dear sister is pregnant with her 3rd child and already has two girls, so when they found out she was having a boy, I almost went in to melt down! This will be the 5th grandchild, but the first boy, on my side of the family.

Baby We've Grown

So I need loads of practice with masculine/boy cards and what better way than to start with a Oh Baby Boy card.

I have left the very top of the card above the ribbon with a bit of space, so once the baby is born (and I get my new alphabet framelits from the new annual catalogue, available 1 July!), I will be able to add his name!

Baby We've Grown

I stamped the Oh Baby image from the Baby We’ve Grown Stamp set in the new In Colour, Lost Lagoon. The base card is also Lost Lagoon and the Designer Series paper is from the new stack, Moonlight.

The scallop circle is die cut from Hello Honey cardstock… do you think it looks a bit like a bib?!!! I hope so, because that was the intention!

I find that these two colours coordinate so well and the ribbon is to die for! Below is another picture showing this divine ribbon!

IMG_4875

You may also notice the punched stars, part of a new punch pack of 3 (which also includes a flower and a heart), all of which I couldn’t wait to get my hands on.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

The new 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue goes live on 1 July, so make sure you return to my blog to view it online. This catalogue is full of amazing new products and wonderful coloured pictures for ideas. It is a must have for anyone interested in Ink, Paper and Stamps!

Handmade Piano Card

Hello Crafters,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend here in Australia to celebrate Australia Day, as I know I sure am!
Who loves a little music? I know I sure do and love crafting while listening to my favourite radio station.
Well, it gave me an idea, why not create a card with some piano keys. I also remember seeing something similar on Pinterest some time back and knew I had to have a go. Here’s what I came up with!
Piano Handmade Card
Don’t you think it looks just like the keys on a piano?
I used the Stampin’ Up! Word Window Punch to create the keys and then glue them onto the black card before mounting onto white card. I added the Bitty Butterfly Punch to add a little colour.
Be sure to return to my blog tomorrow for a very exciting post and the beginning of Sale-a-bration 2014!!!!
