Stars in their multitudes

Hello Crafters,

Melbourne has turned on a gorgeous sunny day today, so I will quickly share a card I have made for the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge before heading outside to enjoy the sunshine with my girls!

The challenge this week is a Colour Challenge JAI#235.

I love this colour combination and needed to make a card for my daughter’s friends birthday next weekend, and these colours screamed cupcake to me!

Birthday Cupcake Card

I started with a card base of Pink Pirouette. I then got out the Stars decorative mask and using my sponge daubers and the above colours, I began sponging from lightest to darkest randomly around some Whisper White card stock. This almost gives the effect of Bokeh!

Birthday Cupcake Card

I used the Cupcake Builder punch with the 2014-2016 In Colours Backgrounds DSP, then Strawberry Slush card for the cherry and sprinkles.

I added some chevron ribbon before adding the embellishment with dimensionals.

Birthday Cupcake Card

I added the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss.

Birthday Cupcake Card

I think this is a very sweet little card and I am loving the stars background. I know I will definitely be creating more of these!

This background is very cheap and easy to create, why don’t you give it a go too.

Please leave a comment below, what you think of my card.

PS I was the winner at JAI for this card!!!

World Card Making Day

Hello Crafters,

Today being World Card Making Day, I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in our Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team and our focus is GIVING.

There is nothing better than checking the mailbox and there is some happy mail from the postie!!! I hesitate and almost cringe wondering what bills are going to face me from the mailbox, but to find some happy mail instead is an absolute bonus, and better still, when it has been handmade by someone who is thinking about you, makes it even more special!

So, let’s share some happy mail cards that I am going to send out to some wonderful people this week ~ get ready to stalk that postie in case you are the lucky recipient!!!!

I also just want to add that I have a great time sharing what I love, and Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart is To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference! I just love that and I think it sends a message to all of us who love to be creative.

Now let’s get started and see what you can make with some of Stampin’ Up!s amazing products from the Holiday and Annual catalogues.

A6 Card Box Chevron Petite Purse

The envelopes are stamped in Crumb Cake ink with I Love Lace down the left hand side.

Now for the card:

I Love Lace

I started with Island Indigo card stock, layered with a strip of Rich Razzleberry Core’dininations card stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it to the same length of the card and used the Chevron Border punch along one edge. I trimmed it so it has a 1/8″ border on each edge. I repeated this so I have two strips. I then turned one around and intertwined them (as shown).

Chevron Punch     Chevron Punch

I took a piece of Whisper White card and stamped it with the I Love Lace stamp using Versamark and then applied gold embossing powder and heat set it. Once touch dry, I punched the flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flower punches. I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink pads.

I Love Lace     I Love Lace

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fair Framelits!

I added the flowers, leaves , sequins and twine with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp set, a FREE Hostess item with any order (workshop or party) to the value of $300 as well as the Hostess dollars earned.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card also. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but see how I added a little of the I Love Lace along the bottom? It just ties all the elements together!!!!!

I Love Lace

Would you like to see more? Yes?

Petite Purse     Petite Purse

I used the Petite Purse die to cut out an Island Indigo purse, then used Versamark ink and the I Love Lace stamp, before covering with gold embossing powder and heat setting. I attached the handle with gold brads and the petal in the same way.

Well here is another small project, an A6 card box!

IMG_5305

although this time, I made a box for the cards to go in to. This would make a quick and easy gift, along with a few cards to give to someone.

A6 Card Box

I started with an A4 piece of card and trimmed it to 29.7 x 20cm. I scored the short side at 2cm, then rotate to the long edge and score at 2, 14, 16, 28cm. Along the bottom edge (shown above), cut up each of the scorelines to the 2cm line.  I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to create the 1/2 circle at the top.

Here is a close up of the decorating (same techniques as the card)!

I cannot tell you just how much I love these colours together!!!!

Gorgeous Grunge meets Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

I have a wonderful card to share with you today, which is not a style that I am confident with, but I absolutely love the outcome. I got some inspiration from Pootles in the UK!

I changed up the colours and added some twine for a bit of extra interest.

Petite Petals

The card base in Rose Red, the next layer is Perfect Plum, then Whisper White. The Gorgeous Grunge splashes are in the coordinating inks, as are the sponged edges of the petals. The flowers were punched out of some Whisper White card stock that I had previously stamped with I Love Lace and embossed in Gold.

Petite Petals2

I then added the Baker’s Twine and the flowers with glue dots.

I stamped the sentiment in Perfect Plum ink.

Petite Petals3

Thanks again to Pootles for the inspiration!

Stippled Blossoms

Hello Crafters,

I have had a wonderful day at home today with the kids home on school holidays, and they sat with me and made some cards of their own. Yes, they did get a bit bored after a little while, so they headed out to watch the movie Frozen. Miss 8 made this card before she went. I was impressed and had to share it with you!!!

Anyway, back to what I decided to make and that was enter a challenge at Just Add Ink, which this week is a Sketch Challenge JAI#233.

I decided to try turning the sketch sideways and see what I could come up with. I chose one of my all time favourite SU stamp sets, Stippled Blossoms and wanted to make a card also using the new I Love Lace background stamp which I find absolutely stunning and I think these 2 sets go very well together!

Stippled Blossoms

I began with a Perfect Plum card base and added the banner. This was created by stamping I Love Lace with Versamark Ink onto Whisper White card stock, then heat embossed with gold. I then added the Baker’s Twine and tied in a bow.

I stamped the flowers in Perfect Plum with Elegant Eggplant, and the leaves in Pistachio Pudding with Wild Wasabi. Then fussy cut them all out!!!! I added each of the flowers with dimensionals and glued the leaves.

I stamped the sentiment in Elegant Eggplant onto the whisper white card and die cut with the framelits before adding with dimensionals.

Stippled Blossoms2

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Bloom with Hope & Blendabilities

Hello Crafters,

Bloom with Hope is bound to be a stamp set any Hostess will want to purchase with their Hostess Dollars when they gather some friends together for a Stampin’ party! Here is one example of how easy it is to use, colouring with the Blendabilities markers. This takes us all back to our childhood, colouring in!!!!

Bloom with Hope

I used Wisteria Wonder card stock to create the base of the card. The next layer is white card stock embossed with the decorative dots embossing folder. The DSP is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.

I love the little banner of silver glimmer paper to just add the right amount of sparkle and the pearls for a touch of class!

Flower Patch

Hello Crafters,

I think you are going to like this one using the new Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits Dies!

Flower Patch

Photopolymer stamps are completely clear, so when you mount them onto your clear block, you can see exactly where you are stamping!

The Flower Fair Framelits dies coordinate so you can cut out each of the many blooms available in this set.

The Designer Series Paper is part of the Brights Collection.

Flower Patch

The inkpad colours I used were Pistachio Pudding & Wild Wasabi for the leaves, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry & Tangelo Twist.

I used dimensionals to raise each layer of the flowers to give them a real life look!

Flower Patch

I finished it off with some of the new Daffodil Delight Cotton ribbon.

This 19 piece stamp set and coordinating framelits can be purchased as a bundle saving you 15% for only $74.75.

I Love Lace

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you a new stamp in the annual catalogue and it is a background stamp called I Love Lace.

I love that is gives a really girly, old worldy feel to the card, and it can be used for so many things. Check it out!

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I have stamped the I Love Lace using Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and it is mounted onto Crumb Cake card and then Soft Suede card.

The blooms are from a stamp set called Everything Eleanor, and it has been around for a little while now, but I have only just got my hands on it. I really can’t answer why I have got it now, as it is just stunning!

The flourish and blooms are stamped in Soft Suede ink and the flowers are fussy cut and adhered with a dimensional.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

I also sponged some ink of the same tones to the centre of each bloom.

I Love Lace & Everything Eleanor

The sentiment is from Petite Pairs Stamp Set.

But look at that background lace stamp, I just love it!!!

Bloom with Hope

Hello Crafters,

Today I have found myself needing to craft after two weeks off work and it being school holidays, where I have spent loads of time with my gorgeous girls!

But now they are back to school, I needed a kick start, so I begin with a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge JAI#223.

I am also using 2 of the new 2014-2016 In Colours; Blackberry Bliss & Tangelo Twist. I wasn’t sure if they would work together, but I was surprised and I think they actually work well.

Loads of new product is used in this card, from the ribbon, stamp set, DSP and cardstock. I think the only things that are not new are the circle framelits and the Honeycomb Embossing Folder!

Bloom with Hope

The Bloom with Hope Stamp Set is one of the many Hostess Sets available in this new annual catalogue and it is just beautiful.

I used the Shaving Cream technique to create the background colours of the flowers, then stamped the images and fussy cut.

Bloom with Hope

If you have realised by now, I love dimension on my cards, so I used dimensionals to add the blooms to my card!

Bloom with Hope

Never Ending Card

Hello Crafters,

I have made my first ever 30 second video and it is terrible but thought I would share it anyway, as I found it very hard to show you in pictures how this card works!

It is the never ending folding card, so as you open it, it just keeps on opening. Watch the video and you will see it in action.

I have used the gorgeous, but now retired, Sweet Sorbet DSP with Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock. I haven’t yet finished decorating and embellishing it yet, but you get the gist of what is going on here!

Here is the front of the card

then the last time you open, you end up at the front of the card again!

Don’t you agree that kids (and adults alike) would find this fascinating?!!!! My girls loved it!
