Papillon Potpourri Pop-up Card

Dear Crafters,

While I wait for my order to arrive with some new goodies from the Occasions catalogue and FREE Sale-a-bration products, I thought I would go back to a favourite of mine, the Papillon Potpourri Stamp set and coordinating Elegant & Bitty Butterfly punches.

I love butterflies and I think you may find that shows in this card! lol

I watched a documentary the other day which showed masses of monarch butterflies and it was just so unbelievable, that I wanted to recreate that image in my head.

The base layers were embossed with the new Spring Flowers TIEF. The centre pieces are die cut using the Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits then pierced with the piercing tool, mat & Festive Paper Piercing Pack.

Now are you ready to see inside? This is my favourite part!!!!

I used the Papillon Potpourri stamps with Memento Black ink then punched each one out.

I added them to the centre piece with Tombo Glue and dimensionals!

What do you think? Isn’t it stunning?

I also added a couple of leaf stems from the Owl Builder Punch and some gold glitter butterflies.

Notice that I haven’t even added a sentiment! It simply doesn’t need one, or maybe it is just too busy with butterflies!

Lotus Blossom in Purples

Dear Crafters,

This set is so versatile and can be claimed for FREE with any $90 order placed during Sale-a-bration 2015.

I love that you can stamp multiples of the images or just a single stem. No matter how much you do, it still looks amazing!

I used the Lotus Blossom stamp with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant inks. The stem is Wild Wasabi ink.

I added some Wisteria Wonder ribbon to the bottom of the card on a strip of sticky strip, and bunched it as I placed it along from one end the other. It is such an effective way of adding some texture to your card!

I also added a button with some linen thread.

Notice that I haven’t even added a sentiment! It simply doesn’t need one, meaning that this card can be used for any occasion required. You could make multiples of these cards in many colours and have them sitting there for any event that comes your way!

I am loving this set as it can be used for so many types of cards but also on your scrapbook pages!

I used the Lotus Blossom stamp with Pacific Point and Soft Sky inks. The stem is Old Olive ink.

The base card is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) as the background. The next layer is Pacific Point card sponged with coordinating ink. The Whisper White layer that the Lotus Blossom is stamped on also has the small image from the Holiday Home stamp set, which reminds me of the dandelions that the kids blow for fairies!

Celebrate Today

Dear Crafters,

I cannot believe this is the last day of 2014 and tomorrow is a New Year!!!!

I wish everyone a safe and happy time tonight as we enter into 2015 and see you on the other side.

It was a very close friends birthday last Sunday and I wanted to share the card I made for her. She loves purple, but I really wanted to try something different.

I have used Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Whisper White with the coordinating card stock.

I stamped the balloons, banner and tassels onto Whisper White card and used the coordinating dies (you can purchase the Celebrate Today stamp set and dies together to save and extra 15% off).

The designer paper is some of the Moonlight DSP. The Celebrate Today bundle will be available from 6th January.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card ~ it really does finish the project off nicely.

Who’s turning 94 today?

Dear Crafters,

I cannot believe that my Nanna is turning 94 today, but I wish her a very happy birthday and look forward to taking her out for lunch today!

I have made her a card using Painted Petals Stamp Set from the new Occasions catalogue, available to purchase from 6th January (yay, next week!!!)

I have used Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White with the coordinating card stock.

I dry embossed the base card with the Spring Flowers TIEF, isn’t it gorgeous?!!!

The next 2 layers are die cut using the Banners Framelits and sponging the edges with coordinating inks and sponge daubers. Then the ribbon is added across the top.

I stamped the flowers and leaves onto Whisper White card and used the large oval punch and a larger oval framelit to create the ovals. I pieced the dots around the larger oval of vellum with a piercer and piercing mat.

The designer paper is some of the Painted Petals DSP. Most of these items will be available from 6th January.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and even use a corner punch of alternating corners ~ it really does finish the project off nicely.

Happy Boxing Day!!!!

I can tell you, there is no way I am leaving the house or heading to the Boxing Day sales for this little black duck!!!

Dear Crafters,

Well, my in-laws arrived yesterday (and no it’s not a bad thing, lol, I get along very well with them. She is also a SU demo!). But I had to wait until now to share this little creation with you, as my Mother-in-law has retired after many, many years being a Business Manager in a school in her country Victorian town. I needed something different and saw something similar but there were no instructions, so it took ages to cut and score and put together!!!!

Anyway, here it is!

Can you tell it is a teapot? I sure hope so. My Mother-in-law loves her cups of tea, so what better type of card to make for her.

I am not entirely happy with the spout, as it was a bit tricky!

I have used Primrose Petals (retired) card stock and stamped Everything Eleanor with Soft Suede ink.

I used the Ovals Framelits to create the handle!

Then for the big reveal, when you open it up, you see this!

The Whisper White card is embossed the new Spring Flowers TIEF which will be available during Sale-a-bration, starting 6th January 2015. I have left one side blank, as that is where I will attach the written message (that you don’t really need to see).

I used the Spiral Flower Original die in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple (r) card stock. The leaves are die cut using the Flower Frenzy Bigz L die with Garden Green card stock.

What do you think of this interesting creation? Something different, but I certainly wouldn’t be making loads of these, just for very special occasions and I think Retirement is certainly one of those!

Here is the Lotus Blossom stamp set. Now don’t be afraid when you see that it is two-step stamping, because this set is photopolymer and it is so easy to line up the stamps when they are completely clear, without using your stampamajig!!!

I have used Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry & Strawberry Slush inks with the coordinating card stock.

I stamped the flowers onto scrap whisper white card and then cut each one out. You don’t have to do this if you don’t like to fussy cut, but I wanted some added dimension. I also sponged the edges of each layer of card stock to soften the edges.

Hello Crafters,

My love for this stamp set, Stippled Blossoms continues and I find it so feminine.

I showed you a Scallop Tag Topper Punch Bookmark Card last week, and I have made another one but a 4″ x 4″.

I have used Raspberry Ripple, Blushing Bride and Whisper White for my colours, but you could choose so many from the Stampin’ Up! range!

Here it is open so you can see the inside of the card and the “tear off” bookmark on the right hand side!

Love, love, love this stamp set…. have I already mentioned that?!!!!

Hexagon Flower Frenzy

Hello Crafters,

What a glorious Melbourne Cup Weekend we have had and so today I share something that is just as colourful and floral!

This is my first time using the Hexagon Hive Thinlit and I wanted it to be a darker, dull shade so that the colour of the DSP behind really pops!

The DSP is from the pack called Confetti Celebration. It has such bright and beautiful colours in it, including Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Tangelo Twist and Whisper White.

As you can see I have used Pistachio Pudding card for the leaves and the flowers are Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush and the Silver Glitter paper!

I sponged the edges of each of the die cut images with the coordinating inks.

This background puts a smile on my face, it is just so bright and cheery and brings loads of dimension to this card.
