Christmas

Merry Christmas

Dear Crafters,

I hope you were all good little boys and girls and the man in the big red fat suit paid a visit!!!!

He certainly did find our home and left loads of goodies for us all.

Anyway, while the Turkey is cooking away, I thought I would drop by with the cute little cards I made for my daughter’s prep class mates. I needed something that was reasonably quick and not too time consuming, as I had to make 20 of them, so I came up with this.

Rudolf Reindeer #stampinup

It is a simple white card base and using the Dots & Stripes Decorative Mask, I sponged 8 circles in Soft Suede ink for each of Santa’s reindeer and then 1 in Real Red ink (no guessing who this is for!!!)

The antlers are the top part of a branch from the No Bones About It stamp set (you know, the one with all those dinosaurs!)

Rudolf Reindeer #stampinup

I stamped the sentiment from the Jingle All the Way stamp set at the bottom.

Aren’t they cute?!!!

I hope you all enjoy your Christmas Day and eat as much delightful food and yummy drinks as you like, I know we sure will!

Christmas, Techniques & Tutorials

Holly Jolly Greetings

Dear Crafters,

Today I share some more gorgeousness for Christmas with the masking technique!

I love this stamp set, Holly Jolly Greetings. I think it is so versatile and you can create so many different designs with it.

I am not usually a snowflake girl for Christmas, but I do particularly love these wooden snowflake embellishments and the Iced Rhinestone Embellishments are stunning and sparkly!

Holly Jolly Greetings #stampinup    Holly Jolly Greetings #stampinup

The card base is Marina Mist.

I have used Marina Mist and Soft Sky ink in the sponging, with a Night of Navy snowflake stamped over the top. I used two large post it notes to mask the card leaving space between for the sponging.

Super duper pretty if you ask me!

A Rudolf Christmas

Rudolf Christmas #stampinup

Dear Crafters,

Well, it is the last day of November and I have nearly finished creating my Christmas cards. Here is one final card for a very special friend who is going through a lot of challenges in her life and I know this will cheer her up immensely.

Rudolf Christmas #stampinup

Rudolf is made using the following punches:

  • 1/2″ circle punch (nose & feet)
  • 3/4″ circle punch (nose)
  • 2″ x 1-3/8″ oval punch (body)
  • Pansy punch (chest)
  • Owl builder punch (head & eyes)
  • Tree builder punch (antlers & ears)

I used smoky slate, sahara sand, whisper white, cherry cobbler and basic black cardstock.

The Merry Moments DSP Stack banner is cut with the Banner Triple punch, as is the silver glimmer card.

The sentiment is from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set.

Isn’t it just the cutest?!!!!

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

Dear Crafters,

Today I used the Sleigh Ride Edgelits & Delicate Ornament Thinlits dies to create a non-traditional coloured Christmas card!

The base card is Blushing Bride with a piece of Very Vanilla embossed with the Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the top.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

I die cut the Sleigh Ride Edgelits in Pool Party and Blushing Bride, layered them onto some Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut the Delicate Ornament Thinlits to create the Bauble.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

I added some retired Pool Party ribbon and tied a bow in a piece of Pool Party Twine to add to the top of the bauble.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

Don’t forget to decorate the envelope and the inside of your card to coordinate.

Perfect Angel

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a simple card with this gorgeous angel from the stamp set, Christmas Cuties.

#stampinup Christmas Cuties Angel

I used the brand new Black Archival ink to stamp the image on whisper white cardstock and fussy cut her out. Then I coloured her with Stampin’ Write Markers.

I layered the DSP on the Mint Macaron card base, and added a silver doilie. Then the silver banner was added, before the white banner with the scallop tag topper punch at the top.

Don’t you just love how that doilie shines in the light? Cute hey!

Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

Dear Crafters,AWHT Logo-001

Today some of the Art with Heart Stampin’ Up! team girls are sharing some fun and fabulous ideas to inspire you from our brand new Holiday Catalogue available now until 4th January 2016. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today!

You have come to my blog from the very talented, Ros Davidson.  Blogs are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

For my first project today I am using the Delicate Ornament Thinlits dies.

I love the simplicity of this card and how effective a little bit of glitter can add to the design!

Embellished Ornaments #stampinup

I have used Mint Macaron cardstock and dry embossed it with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bauble is die cut and the decorative layer is also die cut in Transfer Adhesive Sheet, then Gold Stampin’ Glitter added. It adds such a beautiful shine to the bauble.

Embellished Ornaments #stampinup

My second card is a style I don’t usually use for Christmas, but I had this little guy in the Christmas Cuties stamp set, and hadn’t inked him up yet. He had to be in a snow scene seeing as he is all rugged up in his scarf, mittens and beanie.

First I embossed the whisper white cardstock with the Woodlands TIEF, before sponging with Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe, Tempting Turquoise and Marina Mist inkpads. I just kept sponging the different colours until I was happy with it.

Christmas Cuties #stampinup

Then I added the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to the bottom to create the snow and added the ‘merry’ sentiment from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits dies. The white satin ribbon was tied in a knot and added to the glimmer paper before gluing to the base card. The little guy is coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers and fussy cut before adding to the card with dimensionals.

Christmas Cuties #stampinup

I am really happy with how this card turned out!

Thanks for visiting today.

Elf time

Dear Crafters,

Today I share another card using that cute little elf from the stamp set, Christmas Cuties. This is one of my favourites in the new Holiday Catalogue and you will see plenty more in the months ahead using this stamp set!!!

My base is Mossy Meadow card stock with a layer of Real Red card stock.

The Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack is so cute with it’s polka dot pattern. The Home for Christmas Enamel Dots are adhesive backed, which make them super quick to add.

The image is stamped with the new black archival ink pad onto Whisper White card stock and coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Christmas Cuties #stampinup

I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to die cut the image and another, one size larger to frame it. The amazing Triple Banner punch was used once again with the gold foil card layered behind the framelits. To finish off, I added some Gold Dazzling Details to the 4 bells and left to dry. Cute hey?!!!!

Did you notice I don’t have a sentiment? I actually didn’t think I needed one. This jolly little fellow screams Christmas to me!!!!

The Season of Cheer Designer Washi Tape is so quick and easy to use and helps to create cards in no time. The Home for Christmas Enamel Dots are adhesive backed, which make them super quick to add.

The image is stamped with the new black archival ink pad which is perfect for use with watercolouring techniques.

Christmas Cuties #stampinup
