HOC Week 1 – Evergreen Christmas

Heart of Christmas Blog Header 2021

Welcome to Week 1 of the 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop!

I had a tough week trying to work out what to create for this first week as I do not have any current Christmas products and I’m still waiting on my order to arrive, eeek. So, back to the drawing board and thinking outside the box, I first went to my Evergreen Forest Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This card is very simple but sometimes this is what we want when creating our Christmas cards, right?!

My card base is Evening Evergreen, with a layer of Soft Succulent and the Soft Sea Foam layer is embossed with the Evergreen Forest TIEF. Glue the top two layers together, wrap around some In Color Ribbon and tie in a bow. This can now be glued to the card base. The sentiment (Many Messages) is stamped in Soft Succulent ink and die cut (Messages die) and added with dimensionals.

My second card I used the Stitched Triangles dies to create my retro trees. This card also uses the five new 2021-2023 In Colors; the non-traditional Christmas colours to make the faux resin dots for the garland! Again I used a sentiment (Many Messages) stamped in Soft Succulent ink and die cut (Messages die) and added with mini dimensionals. The largest tree is also popped up on dimensionals. The Pansy Petals designer series paper used in this card is on sale this month (find all the details below)!

I haven’t added a sentiment to the inside yet, but did add a couple more stitched triangle trees.

  1. Wow! Kate your cards are amazing! The embossing folder creates a quick card which is sometimes what we need for the busy times ahead. Your second card is gorgeous with Evening Evergreen background to show off the Stitched Triangles using DSP.

  2. Very clever and creative thinking Kate. Your cards are a triumph. I particularly like the use of the Many Messages sentiments and dies.

  3. Well considering you didnt have much Christmas product to play with you’ve done a fab job. My favourite is the second one especially the faux dots to create the garland

  4. Kate you are so clever and creative to have made not one but two cards without a Christmas stamp set – amazing. And they are so different – the first card is so elegant and triangle card is so graphic. Amazing!

  5. What gorgeous cards Kate, I love the first one for it’s soft subtle colours and simple elegance and the second one for it’s fun and playfulness. Love them both. Thank you for participating in this first week of HOC!

  6. Your first card, with the mix of greens and some simple but impactful embossing, is beautifully elegant, Kate! I love the whimsical look of the triangle trees on your second card. Both cards are lovely.
