Heart of Christmas 13: Quick & Easy last minute Christmas cards

Welcome to our final Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 13

These handmade cards feature the Traditional Labels Bundle and the stunning Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. As you may have noticed, it has been my most favourite paper this year!

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARD
As the Christmas season fast approaches, these cards are quick to make with little fuss. Honing in on the beauty of the Traditions of Christmas Specialty Paper add a sentiment, and you can make lots of these in minutes!

A piece of Designer Series paper covers the entire card front with two labels adhered. The sentiment is stamped onto the Basic White die cut label in the coordinating colour; Secret Sea. A Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon bow is added on a Glue Dot.

This card has some Pool Party ink blending applied with a Blending Brush directly on the card base.  I used some leftover strips of the patterned paper. It is the same piece of paper, I just flipped over every second one to reveal the reverse pattern. The label on this one is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and is adhered on Dimensionals. Some Traditional Sparkling Sequins are added.

This final card is a 15cm x 15cm card. The front is dry embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Folder. The DSP is cut using the Stylish Shapes dies and the Gold Foil ribbon is from the Christmas Greenery dies with a small piece of Gold Thread. The sentiment is one of the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and is added on Dimensionals.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Catherine Proctor.

The full list of participants for this week can be viewed on Sharon Davern’s blog.

Flirty Flamingo: Extraordinary Flora Birthday card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 21 – Flirty Flamingo

This handmade card features the ever so pretty Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and the Traditional Labels dies, found in the Sept-Dec Mini catalogue.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
A few years back, we had a technique for a floating frame where the die cut pieces sat up on Dimensionals. I took this similar approach to add the die cut pieces around the sentiment labels and it worked out rather well don’t you think?!! This would also make the most beautiful Mother’s Day card with all those flowers.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Layering – Die cut two labels [Traditional Labels dies] in Flirty Flamingo card and Basic White card. Both are added on Dimenionals to the centre of the card base.

4. Add the sentiment – Stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink onto the white label using the Charming Day stamp set.

6. Finishing touches – the washi tape is added to some Thick Basic White card and die cut. Place Dimensionals onto each piece then add them to the card around thr sentiment. A Baker’s Twine double bow completes the card.

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Fresh Freesia inspiration.
