Dancing Gnomes

2022 Heart of Christmas LogoEach Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

My Slimline card today has a fun trio of dancing Gnomes!

I layered some Mint Macaron card on the Thick White card base, then a layer of the snowflake design from the Storybook Gnomes DSP.

The mechanism for the feet to swing, is simply a piece of 2cm x 3cm white card with a hole in the centre. See the nose of the Gnome, well that same die was used to cut the hole (keep these die cut pieces to use for the nose by colouring with the Dark Petal Pink Blends Marker). Glue the mechanism to the back of the feet. Place the feet onto the card and hold the gnome above to work out where you need the feet to be. Add a Mini Dimensional in the centre. Remove the backing paper.

Put together the rest of the Gnomes. Flip them over and add 4 x Mini Dimensionals to the back of the Gnome’s hat (as shown), allowing plenty of room for the mechanism to swing behind the beard. Remove the paper backings and add the Gnome over the mechanism and feet. Ta-da, dancing Gnomes!!! I added some arms to each Gnome later, as I felt they were missing. To create those I used the small mushroom die for the sleeves with the nose for the hands.

Decorate the inside to match the front.

Sweetest Christmas Candy Canes

2022 Heart of Christmas LogoEach Monday, join me for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop brought to you by the Art With Heart team. We will be showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Today’s card I’ve gone with the more traditional Christmas colours; Real Red, Garden Green and White with a touch of Gold!

The Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper features heavily in this card. I fussy cut the candy canes from the paper with Paper Snips.  Another piece of the DSP is added across the centre of the Real Red card base.

A Basic White square is die cut (Stylish Shapes dies) and embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. This is glued to the card with Tombo Multipurpose Glue. Some Specialty Gold Trim is added with a glue dot placed in the centre of the square. A 2cm strip of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper is added across the bottom of the DSP before the candy canes are added on dimensionals

To finish off, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink onto Garden Green card, White Emboss Powder added and melted with the Heal Tool. This was cut using the banner from the Stylish Shapes dies and added with dimensionals. A strip of DSP is added to the inside panel insert.
