Heart of Christmas 13: Quick & Easy last minute Christmas cards

Welcome to our final Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 13

These handmade cards feature the Traditional Labels Bundle and the stunning Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. As you may have noticed, it has been my most favourite paper this year!

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARD
As the Christmas season fast approaches, these cards are quick to make with little fuss. Honing in on the beauty of the Traditions of Christmas Specialty Paper add a sentiment, and you can make lots of these in minutes!

A piece of Designer Series paper covers the entire card front with two labels adhered. The sentiment is stamped onto the Basic White die cut label in the coordinating colour; Secret Sea. A Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon bow is added on a Glue Dot.

This card has some Pool Party ink blending applied with a Blending Brush directly on the card base.  I used some leftover strips of the patterned paper. It is the same piece of paper, I just flipped over every second one to reveal the reverse pattern. The label on this one is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and is adhered on Dimensionals. Some Traditional Sparkling Sequins are added.

This final card is a 15cm x 15cm card. The front is dry embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Folder. The DSP is cut using the Stylish Shapes dies and the Gold Foil ribbon is from the Christmas Greenery dies with a small piece of Gold Thread. The sentiment is one of the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and is added on Dimensionals.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Catherine Proctor.

The full list of participants for this week can be viewed on Sharon Davern’s blog.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you have enjoyed our blog hops this year and you have been inspired with our Chrismas projects. Wishing you all a merry Christmas and safe New Year!

Heart of Christmas 12: Pinwheel Patchwork Christmas card

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 12

This handmade card features the Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper in this Pinwheel Patchwork style design. To me it looks a bit like the ribbon on a wrapped gift!

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Die cut & Layer – a piece of DSP [14.8cm x 10.5cm] is added to cover the card base, then some Gold Foil [14.3cm x 10cm] is added. Take a piece of Two-Tone Secret Sea cardstock [13.8cm x 9.5cm] and score at 1½”, rotate clockwise and score again at 1½”.

Embossed this with the new Beautiful Patterns Embossing Folder and lightly sand to reveal the white core.

A 1″ x 12″ strip of the Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper is cut down into the following pieces: 4″, 2½”, 1¾” (2) and (2) 1″ squares. These 2 x 1″ squares are cut in half on the diagonal and flipped to reveal the reverse pattern which creates the pinwheel effect.

Take the longest piece and adhere it to the upper right section against the scorelines. It will hang over the edge, but that is fine as they will be trimmed later. The next biggest strip, place in the upper left section, lining it up against the scorelines. The two smaller pieces fit into the lower two sections. Trim away the excess hanging off the edges with scissors.

The four triangles are adhered on top of the strips (as shown) at right angles and the points meet in the centre to create the pinwheel.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack is adhered to a die cut label that has some Wink of Stella around the edges.

5. Finishing touches – some Traditional Sparkling Sequins are added for extra glitter.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Monday for more Chrismas inspiration for our final blog hop in 2025 .

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

These projects features the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE PROJECTS
I recently attended the online Traditions of Christmas Craft Class led by Stampin’ Up!s designers. Being online via a live stream in the comfort of your own home, makes attending so easy. It is recorded and available straight after via an exclusive Facebook page. You can rewatch it as often as you wish. So many amazing techniques, tips and tricks were shared and variations in using alternative products if you are not keen on the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection.

Here are the projects:

Card 1 uses some ink blending with a homemade mask, ink splatters and die cuts with a lovely sentiment.

Card 2 is so pretty in Secret Sea and Old Olive with a stamped background

Card 3 is a fun fold using the DSP

as you open this card from under the right side of the feature element

to fully open – check out that gold foil embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder!

Project 4 is a 8″ x 8″ home decor piece and here it is hanging on my front door!

I would encourage you to purchase this Craft Class available in the online store. Click here to purchase and view all the details.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Heart of Christmas 10: Easy Christmas cards featuring the Peaceful Garden papers

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 10

These handmade cards are very easy to replicate and the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) is so beautiful, we want them to be the focus!

Card 1 – is a top folding card that measures 21cm x 11cm, scored at 10.5cm. Add the card & Designer Paper layers and the circle feature attaches at the top. This is a Cloud Cover Spotlight on Nature die with a Stylish Shapes die circle of the Designer Paper inside. The Traditional Labels die banner is stamped and added on Dimensionals with a Glimmer leaf diecut behind on the right. Some Hues of Blue Flowers are added to finish.

Card 2 – is a side folding card that measures 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 10.5cm. Add the Secret sea layer [14.6cm x 9cm], the Designer Paper [14.4cm x 5.8cm] and a strip of Glimmer [14.4cm x 2.5cm]. Stamp the sentiment onto Mistry Moonlight card in Versamark ink, add White Emboss Powder and melt with a Heat Tool. Add some White Craft ink refill to an Acrylic Block and add some drops of water using a Water Painter. Make sure the tip isn’t too wet, and gently tap it against a Bone Folder to gently add the splatters. Once dry, diecut the two circles and adhere them together then onto the card. Add a white dove to one side and some embellishments to the other.

Heart of Christmas 9: Branching Out Shaker card

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 9

This handmade shaker card features the Branching Out dies and the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP).

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
I was inspired by a card Tami Hewlett created and I had these Gold Shaker Stars in anticipation of making some shaker cards. Seeing Tami’s card gave me great inspiration to make one similar.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Crumb Cake card base, 29.7cm x 10.5cm, scored @ 14.8cm.

2. Layering – Some DSP 14.3cm x 10cm has Pecan Pie ink blended around the edges then adhered to the card base. Die cut die #2 (#1 being the smallest) in Basic White card then using a Blending Brush, gently blend Old Olive ink on the lower section. Adhere this to the centre of the card (sits behind the shaker element). To cut the Secret Sea card, place dies #1 and #3 with the smaller inside, and equal distance between them and run through your die cutting machine. Adhere a piece of Window Sheet behind the Secret Sea element. Add Foam Adhesive Strips on the back ensuring it is fully enclosed so no shaker bits will fall out once attached. Carefully place some of the shaker stars onto the white card, remove the backing from the foam strips and carefully place the window element on top.

3. Die Cut Embellishments – die cut some pinecones in Crumb Cake card, pine needles fom the green piece of Seasons of Elegance SDSP and the berries from Basic White card. The stems of the berries are coloured using the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker. The pinecones have some Pecan Pie ink gently blended. Adhere these pieces, starting with the pine needles, to the top corner of the shaker element. Next the pinecones then the berries.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack sentiments is added with a Dimensional behind the right side.

5. Finishing touches – some Traditional Sparkling Sequins and a Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon bow are added.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Monday for more Chrismas inspiration.

Heart of Christmas 7: Peaceful Garden fun fold and easy design cards

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 7: A fun fold card and a simple Peace on Earth card

These handmade cards features the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Peace on Earth Bundle.

Card 1 is a fun fold design using the Everyday Arches dies to create the card base. The white mechanism is formed the same way but adhered in reverse. It’s best to stamp and colour the pieces before adhering them together.

I used the largest Everyday Arches die #1 for the card base, #3 for the two DSP pieces and the white piece for the back of the card, and #5 for the white section on the front.

I used the negative cardstock from the leaf diecut to use as a mask to create the patterns on the white layer, then used a blending brush and Cloud Cover ink to blend the edges and lightly into the centre.

on the back is the space for your handwritten message. These sentiments are from the Traditional Labels stamp set. I followed this tutorial to create this fun fold card.

Card 2 is a more simplified design, but equally as beautiful.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
A very quick card to put together when you are time poor, using some beautiful patterned paper, some Glimmer, a sentiment and die cuts. You could very easily mass produce this card!

How you can re-create card 2

1. Create the base – a Cloud Cover card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp – the sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

3. Layering – A wide DSP panel, a small strip of Cloud Cover Glimmer paper then some die cut pieces .

4. Finishing touches – the white dove is added on Dimensionals with a small piece of foliage die cut from more Cloud Cover Glimmer, because you can never have enough sparkle!

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Heart of Christmas 6: Three easy cards with no stamping in sight!

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!

Here are my cards

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARDS
Sharing the beauty of this spectacular paper with the gold foil accents with a predominant white card base.  Which one is your favourite?

How you can re-create these cards

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Texture – Dry emboss using embossing folders – Card 1 is Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder and Card 3 uses the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.

3. Layering – Card 1 has a Party Banners die cut on top of the embossed layer. Card 2 has Old Olive cardstock, then a diecut of Basic White Textured Notes die, then some DSP. Card 3 – Basic White then a rectangle frame in Bubble Bath.

4. Fussy cut/die cut – The images on cards 1 & 3 are die cut using the coordinating Christmas Greenery dies. It’s so cool that these work with the stamp set, but also patterns in the DSP! Both of these cards also have extra pieces above that are fussy cut from the partrial images on the edges of the DSP. Don’t waste these, you can also add these to the inside of your card or on the envelope.

5. Add the sentiment – each of the cards has a sentiment from the Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.

6. Finishing touchesTraditional Sparkling Sequins are added to each card for extra sparkle!

Heart of Christmas 5: Peaceful Garden Craft♦A♦Long

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Craft♦A♦Long with Peaceful Garden DSP extra 3 cards

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARDS
I recently took part in an online Craft♦A♦Long run by Stampin’ Up!  They showed how to create 6 cards using 1 sheet of Designer Series Paper and the card templates on page 42 of the Sept-Dec Mini catalogue. Today I am showing you cards 4-6! You can see cards 1-3 in a previous post here.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – Crumb Cake card bases, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp and colour – The sentiments on cards 1 & 2 are stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. Inking tone on tone with Sponge Daubers on the DSP pieces and the card base of card 3.

3. Layering & Texture – Card 1 has the patterned paper and two strips of the reverse pattern. The circle and banner are added on Dimensionals.

Card 2 has two pieces of patterned paper and two strips of Secret Sea Glimmer and a circle of Two-Tone cardstock dry embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder. I then used a sanding block to reveal the white inner core for texture.

Card 3 I cut the front so that only a 1″ panel is left. After embossing it with the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder, I adhered the patterned paper to the panl. A layer of Misty Moonlight is adhered behind the patterned paper and to the back if the panel. When you open the card a piece of Basic White the same size as the patterned paper, is adhered to the centre of the card.

4. Finishing touches – some doves on the first 2 cards are added and card 3 has the Metallic Rub-Ons and the sentiment from the Greetings For You Ephemera Pack. All three cards have some Hues of Blue Flowers.
