Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 23 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is using the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set and the brand new Stampin’ Blends Markers which are released today for you to purchase!!!

You can purchase these markers singularly or in a combo pack of two. Or if you are like me and need the entire set, you can also purchase all of them (see below)!!!

Here is my Christmas card using these amazing new blending markers.

My card base is Fresh Fig and I used the Thick Whisper White for the centre panel.

To use the Stampin’ Blend Markers, you need to stamp your images with the Black Memento ink pad, allowing it to dry for a few minutes before you begin colouring. I add the darker shade first and then blend with the lighter shade.

I used some of the Red Ribbon across the top and bottom of the white card and added a bow, just to add a little red to make it extra Christmassy!!!

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 22 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. #cutitnothoardit

Carols of Christmas card using Stampin Ups Merry Little Christmas DSP & Layered Leaves DTIEF by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia

Don’t you just love the layers and texture of this card? I love how the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured impressions embossing folder gives such a deep impression as the background and then coordinates so well with the black and white leaf layer of dsp!

The Triple banner punch makes creating banners so quick and easy and perfect. I certainly cannot get them so perfect without this punch!

Adding the layer of silver glimmer adds a touch of class, as does the two little black rhinestones!

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

The Heart of Christmas, Week 21: Beachy Little Christmas

Hello Friends,

My project today uses the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set and the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Beachy Little Christmas card using Stampin Ups Merry Little Christmas DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

I began by stamping the shell images on the base card with the coordinating Crumb Cake ink. Next I added a small strip of the Merry Little Christmas Designer series paper and a piece of burlap ribbon.

I stamped the tree image in crumb cake ink and coloured it with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush before die cutting it with the oval and sponging the edge.

The sentiment is also stamped in Crumb Cake ink and sponged the edges before adding it with dimensionals. I think using predominantly crumb cake on this card, resonates with me as being the sand at the beach.

Hello Friends,

My project today uses the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the Merry little Christmas Designer Series Paper. #cutitnothoardit

Carols of Christmas card using Stampin Ups Merry Little Christmas DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia

When I opened the pack of Designer papers and saw this piece (that I’ve used as the back layer with the leaves), it was so “in your face” stark, black and white. I needed to soften it to use and so I got out my sponge brayer and added some Old Olive ink to take away that bright white! Sometimes we get so put off by the contrast of black and white and wonder how we will use it, but if you colour the white areas softly, it can totally change the look!

The Heart of Christmas, week 19 – Christmas Pines & Painted Harvest

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 19 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Painted Harvest & Christmas Pines stamp sets to create this Christmas card!

Heart of Christmas - Color Builder - Artichoke, olive, vanilla, cherry cobbler.jpg

Look at me using Always Artichoke, a colour I very rarely use…. in fact, I think it is the 2nd time ever, that it’s been opened and you know what, I actually don’t mind it for a Christmas colour!

Christmas card using Stampin Up Painted Harvest & Christmas Pines, by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. Fancy #makeacardsendacard

I have stamped the sunflower image in Always Artichoke, and twice with Old Olive. The berries are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. How pretty is that coordinating double stitched ribbon bow?!!! So pretty!

The Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder just finishes this card off perfectly. I just love that added texture.

I love how versatile our stamp sets can be. Who would have thought to use a sunflower image for a Christmas wreath?!!! Not me…. but there are plenty of amazingly creative people out there on Pinterest who inspired me.

The Heart of Christmas Inspiration, Week 17: Bridge Fold card with FREE tutorial

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 17 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the At Home with You stamp set, the coordinating At Home Framelit dies and the Detailed Gate Thinlits die to create this Bridge Fold Christmas card!

Heart of Christmas Inspiration Bridge Fold card with TUTORIAL using Stampin Up At Home with You & Detailed Gate thinlits die by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. #cutitnothoardit #stampinup.JPG

I started by die cutting the gate in the new Champagne Foil sheet and I was surprised how gorgeous it was. Then I had to come up with a card to use it on… and because it is quite wide, I thought it was perfect for using on a bridge fold card, but I had to come up with a solution to make it sturdy and solid, so I added some Window Sheet behind the detailed gate and because it is clear, you don’t see it! Winner!!!

I love the red front door with the Christmas wreath on it, I think it really pops behind the front gate! I’ve really tried to set the theme here with the gorgeous front gate and looking through to the front door of the house!

The Heart of Christmas, Week 15

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 15 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Musical Season the stamp set and the coordinating dies, Musical Instruments Framelits and the Emboss Resist Technique.

Christmas Card using Stampin Ups Musical Season by Craft with Kate Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017 flat.jpg

I used Versamark ink to stamp the foliage onto white card, then added white embossing powder and heat set it. I used a sponge brayer with Pear Pizzazz ink over the top to give this gorgeous, subtle look. The little drummer boy was inked in black and die cut and added with dimensionals. The sentiment was added using a black Stampin’ Write Marker directly to each of the words, cleaned and repeated to allow each one amongst the foliage! I used a sponge dauber and Smoky Slate ink to edge this layer before adding the strip of mini sequin trim and adhering this layer to the Pear Pizzazz card.

I love this little drummer boy… I think of the carol every time I see this image and start singing… par rum pa pa pum!!!

The inside of the card was stamped in the coordinating colours!

The Heart of Christmas Inspiration, Week 12 – a Beachy Little Christmas!

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 12 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Beachy Little Christmas stamp set, a great one for the Aussie summer at Christmas time. I love how Stampin’ Up! have thought about creating a set for us in the South Pacific, and this is just perfect!

Aussie Christmas Card using Stampin Up Beachy Little Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.JPG

I’m not sure that the palm trees are so Australian, but they sure do remind me of our holiday last year in Hawaii, so I’m loving them!

Aussie Christmas Card using Stampin Up Beachy Little Christmas by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. DIY

These little beach boxes were stamped closely together with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (yes, I’m not that good at lining up the stamps, hehe)! Then I cut them out with paper snips, thank goodness for lots of straight lines, and coloured them with watercolour pencils and AquaPainter. The palm trees were coloured the same way, however the lights were coloured with the Brights Collection Markers and a small dot of the Fine Tip Glue pen added for the shine!

The inside of the card says it all to me for our Christmas at summer time. The beach boxes were added last with dimensionals to pop them up off the sand (not sure if you can see the sand which was a little yellow watercolour wash).

The full product list is provided at the end of the post (except for the stamp set, as it is not available for sale until 1st September, unless you are a demonstrator, or if you join my team today!)

Heart of Christmas, Week 11 – Bundle of Love

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 11 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the Bloomin’ Love stamp set, Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, Large Number Framelits, Layering Oval Thinlits and the Card Front Builder Thinlits dies!

Heart of Christmas card using Stampin Ups Bundle of Love, Bloomin Love, Large Numbers Framelits, Card Front Builder Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Craft with Kate #cutitnothoardit side.JPG

I love gold and vanilla together, I find it such a warm colour combination.

A funny story – I started this card but had not finished it, so came back to it the next day to find the vellum trees I had die cut and not glued down, were chewed and on the floor and the bottom corner of the card under those trees, was dirty and smudged from where he tried to chew it. Luckily I was able to save it, and that will trust me for not finishing a card and putting it away before going to bed!

That gold foil is just so shiny, perfect detail for these large number dies, which I don’t use enough and I should! They are adhered to the card with the new mini dimensionals, the perfect size to fit beneath them.

And the inside of the card is also decorated with some more vellum trees and a strip of the DSP.
