Dear Crafters,

Sorry I’m a little slow today in getting my blog post out, but I have fractured my ankle following a fall a couple of week ago. I had no idea it was fractured until I had an x-ray late last week and found out the results on the weekend and now I am in a moon boot 😦 Apparently they don’t plaster any more (that is old school), so at least I can remove the moon boot to shower!

But it certainly isn’t the most comfortable thing to get used to, although I guess I have plenty of time to learn, as I have to wear it for the next few weeks and no driving, so the only good news is, there is now plenty of time to craft!

Anyway, let’s get on with the card shall we? Over the next few weeks we have birthdays galore, so today I share a card that I have made for a birthday this weekend, using the Hey Girl stamp set.

This is a very simple card using only a couple of colours; Real Red, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White and Silver.

I have used the Triple Banner Punch and the Little Numbers Thinlits. I fussy cut the image and coloured her using Copic markers.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card to make it personal!

Hey, Girl #Stampin' Up!

Have you lost your mojo?

Well why not try a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an Sketch Challenge JAI#271.

I stamped and coloured the image of the girl with Copic markers. The image was again stamped onto DSP and I cut out the dress and glued it onto the girls body.

Colours used: Basic Black, Real Red, Silver and Whisper White.

Birthday Candles

Dear Crafters,

Today I share another card made using the Build a Birthday stamp set, but this time not to make a cake!!!

I have used my favourite colour, Watermelon Wonder with the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack as my colour scheme.

Each sheet is double-sided for double the creative options. Smaller size works beautifully on card fronts. * 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided designs * 6″ x 6″ * Acid free * Lignin free Coordinating colors: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Hello Honey, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White Price: $14.00 (#138443)

I stamped the candles in the 5 new In Colours and then cut around them in a rectangle shape. I mounted this onto some Cucumber Crush card stock.

The banners behind were made with the Cherry on Top DSP and using the new Triple Banner Punch (a must have item!!!). I used the Word Window punch to cut out the sentiment and added it with dimensionals.

This was another very quick and easy card to create using the Build a Birthday stamp set!

Turtle time

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card made using the Happy Patterns Decorative Masks, not only to create my background, but also it reminded me of the shell of a turtle. So that is what I did!

I have used Lost Lagoon and Mint Macaron as my colour scheme. I inked over the mask in the lighter colour first, then slightly moved the mask and inked with the darker shade.

My turtle shell is the Tree Builder punch, his legs and head are the Word Window punch.

Isn’t he just the cutest?!!!!!

The Lion King

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a punch art project in memory of our visit to see The Lion King on Wednesday. It felt like a long time coming, as I purchased the tickets at the beginning of the year, but the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the show, even us big kids!! hehe

Okay, now let’s get started on showing you my card.

I embossed a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock with the Chevron TIEF and then used my sponge daubers to colour the raised chevrons with the coordinating ink.

The lion is created using many different punches including circles, scallop circles, ovals and flowers. I added some googly eyes to make him come alive!!! His mane and tip of his tail are chocolate chip card stock. I sponged all the edges of each piece before putting him together for added depth.

Dinosaur Roar

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a new stamp set from the annual catalogue that I fell in love with the minute I saw it.

I don’t have any other stamp sets like this one and although I have two girls of my own, they adore dinosaurs!!!

Let’s get started!

My base card is Old Olive, then a layer of Whisper White. I stamped the leaves around the edge in Old Olive and Wild Wasabi ink. The dinosaur is stamped in Real Red ink and then I stamped the skeleton with Craft White ink onto Basic Black card before adding it with dimensionals.

Don’t you think it looks like an x-ray machine with the skeleton?!!! I love it!!!

I stamped the sentiment with Jet Black Stazon ink. The little heart was punched from the Heart Border Punch in Real Red card stock.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of your card too.

Boho bakes a cake!

Dear Crafters,

Following on from yesterday’s post with the Build a Birthday stamp set, I wanted to share some more cards with you, also using the Bohemian Borders stamp set!

So what do you think? Just a whole lot of lines and patterns? Yes, well that is what I thought too when I first saw this stamp set and wondered why on earth I needed to have it! Well, as I share this next card with you, you too, may just be adding this stamp set to your next order!!!

I am also using the Build A Birthday stamp set for the cake stand, sentiment and the banner at the top, but my cake layers are stamped using the Bohemian Borders stamp set.

Create it the same way that we placed the layers yesterday, but you may have noticed that the layers are shorter than the stamps themselves. Well here’s a handy little tip: take 2 large post it notes and put them along the side of the card lining them up with the edges of the cake stand, then stamp. Peel away the post it notes and you have a perfectly baked cake! lol

Don’t you just love baking cakes? Well this is mess free baking, unless of course you get ink everywhere!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and the envelope!

I have used our new In Colours to create this card.

The base card is Cucumber Crush with a layer of Watermelon Wonder.

The stamped images (solid circle) are using the same colours with Tip Top Taupe on Whisper White cardstock.

His eyes are punched out with the circle punch and the dot from the ! is used to create the eyeballs and the nose!

His legs are the ends of the I and the antennae is the letter V!!!!

On the inside of the card, I stamped 3 plums in Perfect Plum ink (of course) and the stems are top half of the letter L.

Welcome to another card made with retiring products!

Today I use the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and coordinating Word Bubble framelits. Aren’t they cool?

I just love the sayings and this set is ideal for those males in our lives, especially those with attitude!!! lol
