Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.
Week 6 – Azure Afternoon
Today brings us to a new core colour to the Brights Collection, Azure Afternoon. This is a lovely bright blue and reminds me of the ocean, so that was my inspiration for this card.

I began by stamping the lady image on Basic White card in Memento Black ink and colouring it with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I used Paper Snips to cut around the image before running my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker around the cut edges so you don’t see the white of the card. I wanted her sitting on a timber seat/bench, so I cut a piece of Pecan Pie card with a square from the Stylish Shapes die and ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine in the Timber 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The White layer is coloured using inkpads and my blending brushes; Pecan Pie at the bottom, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Azure Afternoon at the top. The top section used the cloud die from the Basic Border Dies and the one below is a die in the Seaside Bay dies. I stamped the birds and the speckles of the sand in Pecan Pie ink. The bird I wanted a lot lighter, so to ink the stamp I used my blending brushes to apply the ink. I also added a little bit of Azure Afternoon to the top of the bird before stamping and cutting it out with the die. The grasses were cut from some white card that I had blended with some Parakeet Party & Azure Afternoon inkpads.
The lady and bird are addedwith Mini Dimensionals. I adhered this layer to a Pecan Pie layer with a nice thin border.
The inside is decorated in the same way, but just the bottom section, leaving plenty of room for a handwritten message.

I just love how this lady is sitting there enjoying her coffee, contemplating life… my idea of bliss!

Gorgeous scene you have created Kate. My favourite touches are the wooden bench and the clouds.

Sigh… Kate this is just beautifully depicted. It’s so peaceful looking. I love the soft colour blending that has created such a gorgeous seascape that your lady is looking out over. Make mine a lactose free cappuccino, and save a spot for me on your bench. xx

Love this card Kate! I second on the idea of bliss (just a little bit chilly at the seaside right now, haha).
