Sheltering Tree

Hello Crafters,

Today I share another card using a stamp set from the Occasions catalogue, called Sheltering Tree!

Isn’t it just gorgeous? It is another of my favourite photopolymer stamp sets and this one requires two-step stamping. But because it is photopolymer, being completely clear, you can see easily where to stamp without using your stampamajig!!!!

I have used Blushing Bride & Melon Mambo (Blossom), Pistachio Pudding & Pear Pizzazz (grass), Daffodil Delight (flowers), Island Indigo (swing, bike & sentiment) with some Crumb Cake for the tree.

Here is a close up. I love the look of the blossoms on the tree; it almost gives a painted canvas look!

Handy Tip to save cardstock

Today’s Tip:

I have a cool tip for you this week!

Imagine this….. You plan on making a card and you take out a certain colour from your scrap pile. You have a perfectly sized piece of card stock…….but oh no, it has a circle shape already punched out of it.

Tuesday Tip

See the photo above…..I have a perfectly sized layer I would like to use on my card front, but it has a Circle punched out of it. Why wouldn’t you be able to use this? Keep scrolling….

I layered my Designer paper over a Primrose Petals card front and then….

I covered it with another larger scallop circle punch. Hang on, where did the circle punch hole go? It is hidden under the top punch layer! Would anyone ever know?………No. This is a great way to save some card stock.

Another tip….before you glue all your layers together when setting up your card, if you decide you are going to use a sentiment and a punch, punch that sentiment layer out of one of your layers so it’s hidden and then glue your layers in place!

Handy Tip

I ended up using this card as a birthday card and not a get well card which I had stamped sentiment for, so I flipped it over and stamped again. Another example of never wasting any card!

And this is what I came up with!

Challenges, feminine, JAI, Markers for Colouring

Love Is Kindness at JAI

Hello Crafters,

Today I am getting back into some challenges, so I begin with a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is a Colour Combination Challenge JAI#248.

I saw this colour combination and fell in love straight away. I reckon these colours go so well together and I just received my Love Is Kindness stamp this week, so couldn’t wait to ink it up!

Love Is Kindness

The base card is Pool Party with a layer of Sahara Sand stamped with the Dictionary Background stamp in the coordinating ink. Then a piece of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim wrapped around this layer, before gluing it to the card base.

The flowers are stamped on Whisper White card stock using the Night of Navy ink and coloured with the set of Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities. The leaves are coloured using the Pool Party ink and the Aqua Painter. This layer is mounted onto Rich Razzleberry card stock and added to the card with dimensionals.

Love Is Kindness

I stamped the image a second time onto Sahara Sand cardstock and fussy cut the newspaper wrapping and added it with dimensionals, before adding a linen thread bow.

I added some candy dots to the bottom corner.

Be sure tho decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope helps tie it all together!

Oh yay! I got an Honorable Mention for my card for this challenge!!!!

All Abloom with Flower Shop

Dear Crafters,

Well my summer holidays are over but I want to share one more card with you using the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack.

I have bundled it up with the Flower Shop stamps and coordinating punch.

Flowers make me happy and this card certainly is a happy card.

Flower Patch

The base card is Mossy Meadow with layers of All Abloom Designer Paper.

The flowers are stamped using the Flower Shop stamp set in Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride inks and punched out using the coordinating Pansy Punch.

I used dimensionals to add the flowers to the card, slightly overlapping them.

I added the sentiment from the Flower Patch stamp set and added some pearls to finish it off.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope helps tie it all together as seen in the first photo.

All Abloom

Hello Crafters,

Today I am going back to the Annual Catalogue and selecting one of the Hostess Sets, Bloom with Hope to create some cards.

I thought they would go nicely with the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack.

I just love the colours and patterns in these papers, plus they are some of my favourite SU Colours; Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Whisper White.

This card features the Bloom With Hope Stamp Set which is perfect for colouring with our Blendabilities.

The ribbons and layering give added texture and dimension.

Here is a close up of my colouring. It doesn’t need to be perfect in any way, as long as you have some blended tone on tone, you get the results!

Guy Greetings

Dear Crafters,

First of all Happy Australia Day to all my Aussie friends out there!

Today is my dad’s birthday, lucky him always celebrating on a public holiday, and we are getting together for a special celebratory lunch.

I made this card for him using the Guy Greetings stamp set in the Occasions catalogue. I got this in photopolymer for only $44.95 for all of the 22 stamps below:

Anyway, this is what I created with the stamp set, using the classic car as my main image. I stamped it in Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake card stock and sponged the edges of all pieces of card stock.

Guy Greetings

The used the circle framelits to cut the circles. I embossed the middle darker circle for a bit of texture, as it was too plain beforehand and I wasn’t happy with it lol.

I also added some ribbon which helped finish it off.

The DAD sentiment I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The circle with the car image I added with dimensionals.

Punch Art for boys

Hello Crafters,

Today I am going back to some punch art to create a card for my nephew who turns 6 today! Happy Birthday buddy!!!!

The punches used are mostly circles and word window. Once all the pieces are glued together, I added the plane to the card with dimensionals so it actually looks like it is flying!

Summer Butterflies

Hello Crafters,

Here I am again with the Butterfly Basics Bundle. Today I have tried some colours that I don’t usually go for and is a little out of my comfort zone, but I think they work okay together.

I have used Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz.

I used the Stampin’ Write Markers to in the flower image so I could get the stems green and the flower a different colour. The flower is actually coloured So Saffron, but then I used the Thumping Technique to add some of the Calypso Coral before stamping the image onto the card.

Crazy About You

Dear Crafters,

Crazy About You & Hello You Thinlits Bundle

I received this bundle with my order on Tuesday and couldn’t wait to have a play. I love that this stamp set is available in wood, clear and photopolymer and has wonderful sentiments for all occasions. I got this in photopolymer for only $72.95 for all of these items below:

Anyway, this is what I created with the stamp set, using the leaves and one of the flowers. I also used a stamped flower from the Flower Shop stamp set and Petite Petals stamp set with the coordinating punches to add some dimension to my card.

Crazy About You

The first layer of card stock is Rose Red and I embossed it with the Spring Flowers TIEF.

I also added some Pear Pizzazz ribbon and a pearl and sponged the edges of the layers of card stock to give a softer feel.

Make sure you finish by stamping one of the flowers on the inside to the tie the card together!
