Week 16 – Coastal Cabana

This handmade card features the Beautiful Butterflies dies and some of the Kintsugi Inspirations Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I used the ink blending technique with Blending Brushes and the following inks; Azure Afternoon, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape and Strawberry Slush. I used Post It Notes to mask off each section of the Gold Foil lines on the DSP to add the inks. Yes, it took a while, but I was happy with the stained glass effect!

Once it was done, I sprayed some water over it using the Stampin’ Spritzer and placed a tissue over the top so it didn’t wet the paper too much. This gives it the extra texture.

The Coastal Cabana card base (21cm x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm) has a Gold Foil layer then the DSP added. This just gave it a real touch of glamour. Next the Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil butterflies were die cut and adhered under the centres so the wings could sit up a little. The sentiment is from the Greetings For All Memories & More Ephemera Pack.

This card fits into a DL Business size envelope for mailing.

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 2

Today I feature the Forever Forest stamp set & coordinating Forever Forest dies in this fun slimline design.

A Thick Basic White cardbase 20cm x 21cm scored at 10cm. A Basic White layer dry embossed with the So Swirly 3D embossing folder is adhered. A strip of Shy Shamrock card is adhered to a slightly wider strip of Basic Black card, then dry embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder and adhered across the centre.

The label is cut using a die from the Something Fancy dies. After cutting it and before I removed it from the metal die, I placed it on my silicone mat and used the stylus to run around the inside edges to give it the raised border. The snow was stamped in Pool Party ink, before adhering the gorgeous tree die cut in some Shy Shamrock Glimmer paper. This is adhered to the card on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Trucking Along stamp set is die cut (Something Fancy dies) and adhered on dimensionals. The ribbon is coloured with the Light Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends Marker, tied in a bow and added on a Glue Dot.

The inside has 3 smaller Glimmer trees to carry over the design.

Today, I have a cute card with gondola’s in a warmer setting as it can be quite hot here in Australia at Christmas time. This scene reminds me of when we were in Switzerland in 2001 and we took a gondola down the mountain side to the sound of swiss cow bells. It was extraordinary and a moment in time I will never forget. Anyway, you just want to see my card, so here it is!

I cased this design from a card on page 40 of the catalogue.

My Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis gondola’s are so pretty against the background. That was coloured using the Blending Brushes in Boho Blue towards the bottom and Misty Moonlight at the top. The mountains are cut in Crumb Cake cardstock & the trees are stamped in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock & Old Olive. Some Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs were added for a bit of shine! A simple sentiment is stamped and glued in place. Just having ‘wishing you’ keeps it open to be a Christmas card or birthday or anything really!
