Today, I have a cute card with gondola’s in a warmer setting as it can be quite hot here in Australia at Christmas time. This scene reminds me of when we were in Switzerland in 2001 and we took a gondola down the mountain side to the sound of swiss cow bells. It was extraordinary and a moment in time I will never forget. Anyway, you just want to see my card, so here it is!

I cased this design from a card on page 40 of the catalogue.

My Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis gondola’s are so pretty against the background. That was coloured using the Blending Brushes in Boho Blue towards the bottom and Misty Moonlight at the top. The mountains are cut in Crumb Cake cardstock & the trees are stamped in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock & Old Olive. Some Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs were added for a bit of shine! A simple sentiment is stamped and glued in place. Just having ‘wishing you’ keeps it open to be a Christmas card or birthday or anything really!

Heart of Christmas Week 4

Today I am using product from our upcoming Mini catalogue, available from 6 September!

My card today is cased from the cover of the new Mini catalogue. My card base is Thick Basic White. The next layer is Basic White which has been die cut a few times with a die (Christmas Classics dies). This is adhered to the card base on dimensionals. I took my light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Marker and flicked some ink using the thick end against the lid.

I stamped the image 6 times in Black Memento ink so I could use the Blends Markers to colour them once they were die cut. I arranged 5 of them in wreath before gluing them down.

The sentiment (Christmas Classics) was fussy cut with Paper Snips and a small piece of the Gold Satin Edged Ribbon (my last bit on the roll) was placed behind and adhered on dimensionals. Some Be Dazzled Specialty paper was used to die cut ome small foliage and I placed them around the sentiment, along with some larger fronds which were coloured using a Blending Brush and Granny Apple Green ink.

To finish, I added some Gold Sequins and added Wink of Stella to the berries.

Heart of Christmas Week 3

Today I am using product from our upcoming Mini catalogue, available from 6 September!

The Christmas Classics bundle is my focus for today’s card. I love the dies that are in this bundle, they are fairly big, so it makes a quick feature on my card. With some different DSPs in the background, I felt it needed something else, so scored the reverse side to give 2 borders above and below. This is a really neat idea without adding extra layers.

I already have a few layers behind my sentiment, with some diecuts and ribbon. I cut the large die in Shaded Spruce card and cut out the bits for the Holly and glued them over the top, leaving the berries red!

On the white insert, I added another sentiment and a strip of DSP to coordinate.

The Pecan Pie card base is something different for Christmas this year. It kind of reminds me of cinnamon which is definitely a Christmas frangrance!

Heart of Christmas, Joy of Noel

Today I am using product from our upcoming Mini catalogue, available from 6 September!

The Joy of Noel bundle was my focus for today’s card. I knew I wanted to use Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock for my Christmas combination. I think this will be a go to for me this year!

On a Pretty Peacock cardbase, I added a piece of Pebbled Path Lustre Specialty Paper and then a layer of designer paper from the Inked Botanicals DSP. Now to create the wreath, I started by cutting 8-10 of the wreath pieces in Pretty Peacock and some of the smaller pieces in the Lost Lagoon Soft Shimmer Paper. You know me, I love some sparkle!

I took some Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and wet it with the widest brush of the Water Painters, and carefully picked up some ink from the Pebbled Path inkpad and applied it across the paper. Once I was happy with the result, I set it aside to dry, while I adhered the wreath to the card. The ‘Noel’ letters are die cut in Berry Burst Soft Shimmer Paper and Mini Dimensionals added behind them. Now that the Pebbled Path watercolour is dry, A stamped the sentiment along with some holly leaves which were die cut. The sentiment was added first with the holly leaves, then I could add the Noel in place. To finish off, I added some Pebbled Path In Color Dots to the wreath.

On the inside I stamped the border in Lost Lagoon ink and the sentiment from the Christmas Classics stamp set, in Pretty Peacock. Did you notice the same stamp I used for the border, is also around the edges of the wreath?!!!

Heart of Christmas Week 1: Trucking Along

Welcome to Week 1 of the Heart of Christmas for 2023!
Now is a great time to make a start on those Christmas cards, especially as a demonsrator, as we get to see the new Mini catalogue now. We also get to preorder product during August before it’s release to the public in September! Just wait until you see this new catalogue, so many amazing new products, it’s hard to choose which to buy first. I cannot show you inside the catalogue just yet, but here’s the cover!

In the meantime while we wait for our preorders to arrive, I thought I would start with the Trucking Along (punch) Bundle from the Online Exclusives!

I stamped the truck (Trucking Along stamp set) in Black Memento ink and the body in Real Red, I mean it has to be red for Christmas, right?!! As kids, we always bought a real tree for Christmas and although we didn’t have a red truck, it still reminds me of the adventure to get our tree. The stamp set has the tree and some presents/gifts, and I had to use both, so created the trailor. I stamped a second truck and punched them both out with the coordinating Trucking Along Builder Punch.

The tree & presents were stamped in Black Memento ink, coloured using Blends markers and inkpads, then fussy cut with paper snips to sit in the truck and trailor. I stamped the row of trees in the background, but the first step was to stamp one onto some Masking Paper, cut it out, and then use this to create the row of trees. I used Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon for these. The clouds and gravel were stamped in Smoky Slate ink.

Dry emboss the left panel with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, then drag the Smoky Plate inkpad across it for a more grungy look.

On the inside, I’ve added some Pretty Peacock striped design from the 2023 Regals 6″x6″ DSP. The centre has some Pretty Peacock card with Basic White on top, another strip of the DSP and the Sentiment is from the Perched in a Tree stamp set. The envelope has a truck with the tree too!

I have lots of patterned papers on this fancy fold card and I love all the metallic foil highlights on them; Boughs of Holly DSP, Lights Aglow SDSP, Metallic & Shimmer SDSP and the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. I’m not sure if you can tell that there is some Vellum behind the windows on the caravan?!

When you open the front panel you have this spanner effect. The sentiment and die cut circles (Stylish Shapes dies) are 1 size smaller than the ones of the front of the card; this is so they hide neatly behind the top layer.

Then open the centre panel to reveal the next layer for your message. I have used the Wink of Stella on the Holly leaves and added Pearlized Enamel Effects in red for the berries. Both sentiments (Very Best Occasion stamp set) are stamped in Evening Evergreen ink.

Christmas U Fold Window card

Today’s fancy fold card is a ‘U Fold Window’ style card using the Kindest Gnomes Bundle and Storybook Gnomes DSP.

I made this same design of fancy fold card last Friday which had the measurements.

I just love how the dies can cut out the images in the coordinating Designer Paper. The gnome and mushroom are both cut this way – it makes card making super easy so you can concentrate on designing a fancy fold card! The window is cut using the largest square from the Stylish Shapes dies.

Can you see the Pearlized Enamel Effects in White that I have added to the tree branches?! Make sure you add these last so you can sit the card aside to allow these to dry. They don’t take long, but it would be a shame to ruin them. The Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems on either side of the sentiment (stamped in Orchid Oasis ink) add extra interest.

The gnome is added on dimensionals to the front panel.

Heart of Christmas begins for 2022!

Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our July-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

July is a great time to start making those Christmas cards before the year gets away from us, and it’s Christmas before we know it!

When I first saw the JD Mini catalogue, I fell in love with the Storybook Gnomes Suite (#159630) and they were the first items to drop into my shopping cart!

I love how the images on the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper can be cut out using the Gnomes dies. The trees are from a Saleabration product Tree Lot dies, that can be earned free with a qualifying order). The are cut from the Parakeet Party colour in 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer papers and the 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series paper. The gnomes hat and feet are die cut from the left over paper around the sheet I die cut the gnomes from. His nose is also the Glimmer paper (Tahitian Tide). The beard is Shimmery White cardstock. The Fabulous Frames dies was used to cut the oval in the centre of the DSP. The stamping inside the oval uses Pacific Point ink.

This next card uses some DSP and then I stamped/die cut the mushroom and gnome. These are coloured with alcohol Blends Combo markers. then added with dimensionals to the card. The sentiment is stamped in Balmy Blue ink.

Some red and white Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics are added and set aside to dry.

These next two cards can be made in multiples as they are created using the Storybook Designer Paper. No sign of stamps or ink, just the paper and Gnome dies! Some Simply Elegant Trim and 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots were added for some bling.

Do you love gingerbread cookies at Christmas time? I do, and that is exactly what I have added to my card… well, not the real thing, but what looks like the cookies I make and ice with my children every year!!!

The Gingerbread dies and Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with some Heartwarming Hugs DSP create some cute cards for the festive season. The Kraft paper creates the perfect cookie with some Basic White and Real Red icing on top!

The sentiment (Peaceful Deer stamp set) is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink to coordinate with the card base.

Tonight’s card very much has a silver touch to it – A Smoky Slate card base with some shiny silver foil snowflakes (Gingerbread dies) on some Peaceful Place DSP patterned paper with silver accents. This was cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies three times for the background.

Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added to the centre of each snowflake. The sentiment (Peaceful Deer stamp set) was stamped in Versamark ink, Silver Emboss Powder added and heat set with my Heat Tool. This was cut out using the Seasonal Labels dies.
