Hello Crafters,

Now here is something different and it was inspired by LeeAnn Greff.

This card folds flat and fits into a card size envelope as the base is A5 in size.

The colours used here are Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse & Primrose Petals with White.

I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to make all the score lines and the cuts for this card, before decorating with Simple Stems stamp set (wood or clear).

Here are the measurements:

Mojo Monday

Hello Crafters,

I am really looking forward to the long weekend coming up, so I have created a card for the Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge MOJO335 designed by Julee Tilman.

Flower Shop

I have used the colour scheme Chocolate Chip, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette & Pear Pizzazz.

The Decorate Dots TIEF gives the card base a bit of interest and can be earned free with any $90 order via my online store.

The flowers are Flower Shop stamp set and coordinating punch and the Petite Petals Stamp set and coordinating punch. Both of these sets can be purchased as bundles (stamp set & coordinating punch) 15% savings for you!

Scallop Tag Topper Punch Card

Hello Crafters,

I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get enough of this Sweet Sorbet DSP. I love the colour scheme and find it so refreshing, maybe these colours remind me of gelati, yummy!

Scallop Tag Topper

For the card base, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″.

Measure and mark the centre along the shorter side. Flip the card and repeat. Shimmy it into the Scallop Tag Topper punch (#133324) and line up the mark with the centre of the scallop punch.

Here is the inside of the card!

Scallop Tag Topper

I used the Sweet Sorbet DSP and the coordinating Petal Parade Stamp set which you can choose to receive free with any $180 order. Or if you only want one of these items free, you only need to spend $90 during Sale-a-bration, which ends on 31 March!

Be sure to visit my online store for more details.

This is such a nifty card style that could be used for any type of occasion.

Five Way Flower

Hello Crafters,

Following on from yesterdays card, I thought it would be nice to make a card for the first time Grandparents, whose daughter had a baby girl this week!

Naturally it had to be pinks and as I hadn’t used my Five Way Flower (#131088) stamp yet, I thought it was time to ink it up!

Five Way Flower

I stamped the image onto white, twice in Melon Mambo and twice in Blushing Bride. Using the scallop circle punches, I punched a layer from each of the images, alternating the colours.

The background is die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits (#126999) in Blushing Bride card.

I didn’t have any coordinating ribbon, but I did have some very vanilla taffeta, so I took to it with the Melon Mambo ink pad!

The sentiment I typed on the computer and punched out with Large Oval (#119855) and layered onto the Scallop Oval (#119856).

To finish it off, I coloured a pearl using the blushing bride stampin’ write marker and placed it into the centre of the flower.

This is a very simple, but effective card and I am sure the new grandparents will love it, just as much as their new bundle of joy!

High Heel Shoe Card

Hello Crafters,

Today I have a different type of card for that special lady or friend in your life who may have a shoe fetish. Wouldn’t she love this card!

High Heel Shoe Card

I started off my drawing a shoe shape and cut it out in black card. The base of the card is a piece of white cardstock folded in half and then cut around the black template, so that the fold is on the heel side, as this is how the card opens.

The patterned paper is a retired piece of DSP which I thought was just perfect for this project. It is called Print Poetry DSP and can be found in the Clearance Rack in my online store!

This was a fun card to make, but a bit of mucking around initially to get the correct shape I wanted.

What do you think of this card? I am sure you would know someone who would adore this style of card!

Handmade Piano Card

Hello Crafters,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend here in Australia to celebrate Australia Day, as I know I sure am!
Who loves a little music? I know I sure do and love crafting while listening to my favourite radio station.
Well, it gave me an idea, why not create a card with some piano keys. I also remember seeing something similar on Pinterest some time back and knew I had to have a go. Here’s what I came up with!
Piano Handmade Card
Don’t you think it looks just like the keys on a piano?
I used the Stampin’ Up! Word Window Punch to create the keys and then glue them onto the black card before mounting onto white card. I added the Bitty Butterfly Punch to add a little colour.
Be sure to return to my blog tomorrow for a very exciting post and the beginning of Sale-a-bration 2014!!!!

Flower Pot Card

Morning Crafters,

Here is my take on the Flower Pot card which has been around for years, but this is my first time creating one ~ I don’t know why it took me so long, when it was so simple!

I have used Soft Suede cardstock 9″ x 3-1/2″ then scored it at 3-1/2″ & 7″.

Fold in a zigzag and using a border punch, create the edge on the flower pot.

Measure in 1/2″ from each side at the bottom of the pot and mark with a pencil. Holding up the flap, draw a line from the pencil mark to the top corner to create the pot shape. Cut along each of these lines through the double thickness of cardstock.

Take some ribbon and tie it around the top of the flower pot (as shown). This holds the card together without any gluing!!!

Flower Pot Card   Flower Pot Card

Take a piece of soft suede card measured at 2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock of 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

Layer these on top of each other. This creates the section for your written message and slides into the pot.

Once you have this in the pot, decorate as desired, ensuring you cover the top part of the card and that some of the images sit in front of the pot.

HANDY TIP: It is also a good idea to lay this onto an envelope so as not to add too much height that it won’t fit into a standard size envelope!!!!

I have used Real Red, Coastal Cabana and the Fresh Prints Designer Series paper stack, along with the Simple Stems Stamp set and the coordinating Secret Garden Framelits. This stamp set and DSP are available from 28th January during Sale-a-bration!

Be sure to let me know what you think of my take on the Flower Pot card!

Cascading Card

Hello Crafters,

Here is another style of card that I have had on my list to make and finally got around to trying it. It is a bit like a concertina and folds flat to be able to send in the post!

This is the cascading card and I have seen many variations of it. I made this simple version but next time will spend more time in decorating it, but this gives you an idea of how it can look!

I have used some of the new items in the upcoming Occasions catalogue available online from 28th January.

Upright Diamond Fold Card

Hello Stampers,

Today I have been having a play with a new type of card folding technique ~ the Upright Diamond Fold.

It is quite different to any other card I have made before!

Upright Diamond Fold
Front of card

To begin I used a card base of 11” x 7” cardstock .

On both long sides make a mark at 2”, 4”, 6” and 7”

On the left short side make a mark at 3½”

Diamond Fold

Valley fold on the blue lines

Mountain fold on the red lines

Cut on the green lines

To make the diamond shape layer, cut a piece of DSP 3¾” x 6¾”

Diamond

Make a mark at the 1 7/8” on the short sides and 3 3/8” on the long sides.

Cut on the green lines.

Decorate as desired.

I have used the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper with Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, and the Designer Frames Embossing Folder.
