Heart of Christmas #13 – Shining Brightly & a Fancy Fold that Packs a Punch

HOC Blog Header 2023Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our September-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Heart of Christmas Week 13

Today’s cards feature the Stars at Night Bundle with the  Shining Brightly Specialty Designer Series Paper. The gold foiling adds a gorgeous shine. I do love a fancy fold and it’s even better when they look elaborate, but are so easy to make, and this is one of those! I have no idea of the name of this fold, but let me know in the comments if you know what it is called.

The star on the front consists of a Gold Foil star die cut and embossed with the Stars at Night Hybrid TIEF. A Night of Navy star and a Gold Glimmer Adhesive-backed paper star in the centre. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, Gold Emboss Powder added & melted with my Heat Tool.

Open it up and it sure does pack a punch!

Measurements
Card base: 21cm x 14.8cm, score @ 10.5cm & 3.5cm either side of the centre scoreline (fold as valley, mountain, valley)
DSP: 6.5cm x 14cm (3), 6.5cm x 4cm
Tabs for inside (3): 4.5cm x 7cm

My next card features more of the stamps & dies. Stamping the stars onto the Night of Navy layer after I diecut the centre section with all the dots. I placed a 6cm x 6cm square of Gold Foil behind the die cut & two strips down either side of the navy layer. This panel is then glued to the Thick Very Vanilla card front. The first star die cut is in Gold Foil and the top one is die cut from the Gold Adhesive-backed Glimmer paper. This is popped up on mini dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink and die cut with the coordinating die. I had a few strips of leftover Gold Foil, so I created little banners, using my paper snips, and placed them either side of the sentiment.

  1. Wow Kate your fancy fold card is impressive with the triple flaps inside and I love the gold embossed sentiment on Night of Navy card stock which adds elegance to your card. Your second card is also beautiful with the foil and glimmer that makes up the star.

  2. Gorgeous cards, in a really lovely, elegant colour scheme, Kate. I really didn’t expect the surprise inside your first card … I was thinking it was a tent fold (opening upwards), so it took a moment to work out how you managed the inside mechanism! Beautifully done. I LOVE everything about your second card – the colours, the tone-on-tone stamped stars, the gorgeous central glimmery star, the shape of the sentiment label. Divine!
