Week 10 – Balmy Blue
Today I share my bookmark card. I haven’t made one of these for a few years, and now that Stampin’ Up! have added a new line of accessories for the Take Your Pick Tool, which includes the Rotary Perforating Tip, it was time to revisit this design.

My Balmy Blue card base is 10¾” x 5¾”, score at 4¼”. Rotate 180o and score again at 2¼” then perforate this line with the Take Your Pick Tool with Rotary Perforating Tip and a ruler.

Using Paper Snips, I angled the corners then decorated with Misty Moonlight card and a strip of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper, Very Best Trio Punch and Misty Moonlight Inner Braid ribbon.
On the front, is a matt layer of Misty Moonlight card with DSP on top. The Basic White frame was created using 2 of the Countryside Corners dies. I thought it was a little too bright, so I sponged the edges with Balmy Blue ink and a Sponge Dauber. This is glued to the card. Using the Paper Florist dies, I created some flowers. The leaves are cut from Vellum. Some Silver Trim is added amongst the flowers which are glued to the card.

The sentiment [Sending Smiles stamp set] is stamped onto Balmy Blue card in the same colour ink and die cut using the Countryside Corners die. I felt it was too high, so I sat it in the die again and cut it smaller. Some Misty Moonlight fringing was added below. This sits on some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Wink of Stella is added to the floral centres and some Silver Metallic Enamel Effects to each of the stamen.

On the inside, a piece of Basic White card and another strip of DSP to match the bookmark!

Thanks for the heads up Kate about the perforating tool. I hadn’t noticed it. Such a pretty card Kate and lovely idea to have the matching bookmark for the recipient to tear off and use.

What a lovely card Kate, I love the way the tag is attached ready for someone to remove when they receive the card. It’s a really lovely idea.

What a lovely way to give a card and a gift in one! Beautiful creation, Kate. I especially like the silver details, and the Misty Moonlight fringed piece underneath the sentiment.

Oh how lovely! You’ve inspired me to make myself a bookmark – only this morning I dropped mine down the back of my bed, out of reach. Haha, it was only a clothing swing tag anyway, so well and truly time to replace it with something as beautiful as your bookmark (and card!).

Love it, Kate. A Bookmark card is brilliant using the new perforation tool. Love your paper flowers and all the different details you have incorporated in your card. The addition of the Metallic Enamel Effects on the stamens is delightful. I must put the on my workstation so I don’t forget to use them. xxx
