Five Way Flower

Hello Crafters,

Following on from yesterdays card, I thought it would be nice to make a card for the first time Grandparents, whose daughter had a baby girl this week!

Naturally it had to be pinks and as I hadn’t used my Five Way Flower (#131088) stamp yet, I thought it was time to ink it up!

Five Way Flower

I stamped the image onto white, twice in Melon Mambo and twice in Blushing Bride. Using the scallop circle punches, I punched a layer from each of the images, alternating the colours.

The background is die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits (#126999) in Blushing Bride card.

I didn’t have any coordinating ribbon, but I did have some very vanilla taffeta, so I took to it with the Melon Mambo ink pad!

The sentiment I typed on the computer and punched out with Large Oval (#119855) and layered onto the Scallop Oval (#119856).

To finish it off, I coloured a pearl using the blushing bride stampin’ write marker and placed it into the centre of the flower.

This is a very simple, but effective card and I am sure the new grandparents will love it, just as much as their new bundle of joy!

Zoo Babies

Hello Crafters,

It must be month for babies, as a past work colleague who I still keep in touch with became a grandmother during the week. Her daughter had a baby girl!

I immediately thought to use the Zoo Babies stamp set (W#130483, C#130456) and the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (W#132022, C#126257) with coordinating framelits, Bitty Banners (#129267).

Zoo Babies

I stamped the Rhino in Smoky Slate ink twice and fussy cut the head and used a dimensional to place on top and a 1/8″ mini silver brad for the eye.

The lion is stamped in Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango for the head, also fussy cut. The elephant I used Pink Pirouette ink and mounted the ear.

The polka dot paper used for the background is from the Subtles DSP Stack and the dotted scallop ribbon border punch in Pink Pirouette card.

How cute is this card? I just love the soft tones of baby cards and love the look of using dimensionals to add height to the animals, a bit like paper tole!

High Heel Shoe Card

Hello Crafters,

Today I have a different type of card for that special lady or friend in your life who may have a shoe fetish. Wouldn’t she love this card!

High Heel Shoe Card

I started off my drawing a shoe shape and cut it out in black card. The base of the card is a piece of white cardstock folded in half and then cut around the black template, so that the fold is on the heel side, as this is how the card opens.

The patterned paper is a retired piece of DSP which I thought was just perfect for this project. It is called Print Poetry DSP and can be found in the Clearance Rack in my online store!

This was a fun card to make, but a bit of mucking around initially to get the correct shape I wanted.

What do you think of this card? I am sure you would know someone who would adore this style of card!

Birthday Calendar

Hello Crafters,

Today I have a craft project for you, to help you remember those birthdays during the year!

This is so much easier to have hanging on a wall to glance at quickly and see who is having a birthday this month, don’t you agree?

Birthdays Calendar

I have used the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper (#130145) and the coordinating cardstock; Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Crisp Canteloupe, Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit and Basic Gray. I used the 3/4″ circle punch for the Months and the 1″ circle punch for the names hanging from the gorgeous new Gold Baker’s Twine (#132975) in the Occasions Catalogue.

The “Birthdays” were die cut with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies (#127553) in Raspberry Ripple cardstock.

The white background was embossed with the Arrows TIEF (#132187), also in the new Occasions Catalogue, before being mounted onto a piece of heavy brown card that came as the backing sheet with the 12×12 Foil sheets. Waste not, want not, is my motto!!!!

PCCCS#78 ~ Card Sketch

Hello Crafters,

This week at Paper Craft Crew Challenges is a card sketch PCCCS078.

This is my first time entering a challenge at Paper Craft Crew Challenges and I am loving the fact that I can try new things, although I do tend to struggle with Card Sketches, but this may have something to do with the fact that I am always trying new things and crafting outside my comfort zone!!!

PCCCS#78

I love the Chevron punch and the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) coordinates so well with it. When I embossed the black card though, you couldn’t really see the texture, so I used a sponge and lightly added some White Craft Ink to make it pop!

As you may have noticed, there are a few more “new” items I have used from the latest Occasions Catalogue; the See Ya Later stamp set, Fresh Prints DSP and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch! This punch is sure to be an awesome item that everyone should invest in, to make your own tags and gifts (which you will see soon on my blog, so make sure you return!)

Here is a closer look!

How lovely is this stamp? It could be used for Valentines Day or for someone who may be a little down in the dumps and need a lift to cheer them up!!!

JAI#200 ~ Summer Flowers

Hello Crafters,

This week at Just Add Ink is the challenge using the beautiful inspiration picture by Nikki.

This just yells summer to me with gorgeous yellows, greens & whites!

JAI#200

I don’t have anything so daisy like, but I love the Secret Garden stamp set and coordinating framelits. Initially I stamped the flowers in daffodil delight, but it didn’t have enough interest, so I used the technique called Kissing. To do this, you ink up the flower stamp with the Daffodil Delight ink, then ink up another stamp with Tangerine Tango ink. Press (KISS) the 2 stamps together before stamping the flower onto the white cardstock. Don’t you agree it gives more interest?

Here is a closer look!

Are you wondering how I created the background? I thought you may. I used the Simply Scored Tool and scored the crosshatch pattern. Then did the same on another scrap piece of card and cut part of it away to create a diamond template (see below). Line the template up on your cardstock and using a sponge dauber, sponge the ink in the bottom of each diamond!

JAI#200

I love this summery style although I am not so good in the heat. Is anyone else suffering with these days over 30 degrees? I like to hibernate and stay inside with the cooler on…. maybe it’s just my excuse to stay home and stamp!!!
