Masculine

Hexagon meets Grunge

Hello Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a masculine card I case’d from a card I saw on Pinterest a while back using the Hexagon Punch and the Kaleidoscope DSP.

I did the base card in Black, then added a layer of Crushed Curry card and stamped an image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Smoky Slate ink.

I punched the Kaleidoscope DSP with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack then used the Hexagon Punch so the circle is centred.

Hexagon

I used some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and weaved it through the punched Hexagons.

I stamped Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with coordinating Bitty Banners dies.

Here is a close up!

Hexagon Punch

I love how this turned out and love the Grungy look using the stamp set to add a little detail. Without the stamped background it looked too plain.
This grungy style was something that definitely didn’t appeal to me when I first saw it, but boy has it grown on me!
Why don’t you have a go at a gungy style card too?

Core’dinations & Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

Yesterday I celebrated my 1st anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator ~ happy anniversary to me! ~ so of course I had to make a card appropriate for this milestone and so I came up with this.

Coredination Petite Petals

I needed to get out my core’dinations card stock as I haven’t used it for some time. I love this soft suede card with pink pirouette!

I sanded only the bottom third of the card before adding some pink ribbon, tied with a knot.

The leaves are die cut from the Secret Garden Framelits in Pistachio Pudding and the flowers are stamped tone on tone in Pink Pirouette with the Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating punch. This stamp set and coordinating punch can be purchased together as a bundle to save you 15%. Petite Petals Bundle can be ordered in Wood ($39.75 ) or Clear mount ($34.75) and is great value!

Coredination Petite Petals

I added rhinestones to the centre of each flower, doesn’t it finish them off perfectly?!!!

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and punched out with Word Window Punch.

Don’t forget today is the final day to place your orders before Sale-a-bration tonight!

Digital Scrapbooking

Hello Crafters,

My photographs have been left to sit on the computer or in packets in cupboards, for long enough now 😦

I really needed to get stuck into some scrapbooking!!!! YAY!!!

I began with some 12″ x 12″ pages, but was finding it a little overwhelming, so I went back to the computer and opened up My Digitial Studio (MDS).

I only went back as far as 2011 (but to be honest, I have only done one years worth of my oldest daughter who is about to turn 8 this year!)

Below are a few pages I have done and I will be sure to share more with you over the following weeks!

Here is a page of my youngest daughter who used to pull the funniest faces when the camera came out ~ and you know what, until I looked at these photos again, I had already forgotten about this!!!!

MDS Scrapbooking

Here my girls are in the backyard with a “friend” from kinder!

MDS Scrapbooking

and here is their birthday party from that year ~ yes, the movie Rapunzel was a huge release here and that was all they wanted me to make for their birthday (I have deliberately blotted out faces to protect identity).

You too can create some wonderful layouts in MDS.

You can also do a combination of digital and traditional scrapbooking because as you know, Stampin’ Up! colours, papers, embellishments all coordinate!!!!

Love, So Very Grateful (JAI#207 )

Hello Crafters,

At Just Add Ink this week, it’s a sketch challenge!

The minute I saw this challenge I knew what I was going to do, it was just the colours that I wasn’t sure about. Because I wanted to use the ‘love’ die from the expressions thinlits, I thought I should do something with pinks!

So Very Grateful

Some of the items used in this card are from the Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogues:

So Very Grateful

To create the banner edges, I placed the pink pirouette card stock into the side of the Decorative Label punch. Isn’t it a cute result?!!!

I didn’t have any ribbon in coordinating colours, so I used the Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and coloured it by placing it onto the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Ink pad and let the colour soak in. I used my heat tool to dry it so the ink didn’t run onto the So Saffron tag.

I think the pearls just finish this card off perfectly.

Be sure to have a go at some Challenges, they are great fun to play along and see what others design, so head over to Just Add Ink for more inspiration from the Design Team!

Owl Punch Art

Hello Crafters,

Morning everyone and what a wonderful time of year it is, with the cooler mornings and lovely days. I am thankful for the cooler change!

I know I am not the only one who loves owls at the moment, so I wanted to share with you today a gorgeous card I made which was case’d from Deb Raymer of Debzhouse Stamping.

So here it is!

Owl Punch Art

I used the Venetian Romance DSP with the coordinating card stock of Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding, Tangerine Tango & Crisp Canteloupe.

The background is embossed with the Woodgrain TIEF. The white markings on the beak and eyes was using a White Uniball Signo Gel Pen.

Owl Punch Art

The punches used to make this cute baby owl are:

I added some green feather that I found lying around in my kids craft area and it matched perfectly for my owl!

Soccer Card

Hello Crafters,

This time of year is all about sport and the AFL has begun! But instead of an Aussie rules card, I decided to make an English Football card in the form of Soccer.

So here it is!

IMG_4348

The item I have used to create this is the Hexagon punch in white and black and adhered to a crumb cake card base.

This card was so quick and easy to create I am sure I will be making plenty of these for the boys parties my kids will be invited to.

I added some of the Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain Ribbon for an interest of colour under the Happy Birthday from the Sassy Salutation stamp set.

Gift Ideas

Tea Light Candle Gift Box

Hello Crafters,

Now that the long weekend is far behind us, I need to share with you some little tea light candle gift boxes that I have made in time for Mother’s Day!

I will be doing a workshop on these on Saturday 22 March, 10am. Email me if you would like to come along, or rsvp via my Facebook event!

I got a bit carried away creating these. I started with one and then did a couple of different colours according to the tea lights I had.

I started by stamping the images with the same ink as the card stock (tone on tone). I used So Very Grateful Stamp Set (Wood or Clear) which is in the Occasions Catalogue. Isn’t it just so pretty?!

Tea Light Candle Gift Box

I used my Big Shot machine to die cut the Chalk Talk framelits on the pink one and then found it easier to use the Decorative Label punch on the other two. Using a punch saves so much time and you can whip these up in no time.

The card stock colours used here are Tangerine Tango, Strawberry Slush & Wisteria Wonder. Come along to my workshop and you will see just how easy these are to make for yourself. You will have loads of gifts to give away once you try this!!!

Here is a close up!
