Heart of Christmas 3: Peaceful Garden

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 3: Craft♦A♦Long with Peaceful Garden DSP

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARDS
I recently took part in an online Craft♦A♦Long run by Stampin’ Up!  They showed how to create 6 cards using 1 sheet of Designer Series Paper and the card templates on page 42 of the Sept-Dec Mini catalogue. Today I am showing you 3 cards and I’ll share the other 3 in a later post.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – Cloud Cover and Misty Moonlight card bases, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp – the sentiments are stamped onto die cut pieces in Misty Moonlight ink. Card 2 is an extra label piece leftover from the Birthday Fancy Card Kit.

3. Layering – Card 1 has patterned paper, a Misty Moonlight circle [Stylish Shapes dies] and the Cloud Cover die [Peace on Earth dies]. Once I die cut it, I left it in the die, turned it over onto my Silicone Sheet and used the Stylus tip [Take Your Pick Tool] to trace around the inside of the die to create that extra detail. Card 2 has patterned paper with 2 Arches [Everyday Arches dies], Cloud Cover Glimmer circle [Stylish Shapes dies]. Card 3 has the patterned paper and a Cloud Cover circle [Stylish Shapes dies].

4. Finishing touches – Card 1 has some Hues of Blue Flowers, and die cut foliage. Card 2 has a white dove with some Irridescent Pearls and Card 3 has some Misty Moonlight Silver Edged Ribbon behind the sentiment, a white dove and Irridescent Pearls.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Monday for more Chrismas inspiration.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Judy May.

Heart of Christmas: Traditions of Christmas

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

I am obsessed with this Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP)

and the Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera Pack – this pack is fabulous and has gorgeous gold foiled sentiments on a thicker white card, and can you believe, there are a total of 126 sentiments and they are adhesive-backed!!!

Here are my cards

These cards have a predominant use of Secret Sea to them, but it still works, don’t you think? I love them, especially with the additionak gold foil features.

How you can re-create these cards

1. Create the base – 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm – one in Thick White and one in Secret Sea.

2. Add Texture – Card 1 has a layer of Secret Sea dry embossed with the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

3. Layering – Card 2 has a strip of DSP down the centre. Before adhering it, die cut a circle using the Stylish Shapes dies in the centre. Flip the circle over to reveal the reverse pattern and glue this into the die cut hole. Add narrow strips of Gold Foil on either side.

4. Add the sentiment – Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera Pack added on Mini Dimensionals.

5. Finishing touches – Card 1 has gold foil splatter using the Metallic Textures Rub Ons that are so easy to use and a really bright foil. Card 2 has a Gold Foil bow die cut using the Christmas Greenery dies.

Heart of Christmas: Week 1

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products for the next 13 weeks.

As I was late with submitting my preorder (for the Sept-Dec Mini catalogue) and it arrived too late for this week’s hop, I had this Octagon Aperture Wreath feature in mind and set about using what I already had. So, this handmade card features mainly non-Christmas products (except for the sentiment and bow), but it shows that you don’t need Christmas specific product to create your Christmas cards.

For this project I wanted to capture the wreath as the main feature and this is such an easy fun fold design to feature it in the centre of the card.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – start with a side opening card and fold the front back on itself to create a Z fold.

2. Add texture – the stripes [Stripes & Dots stamp set] were stamped in Versamark ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock. I used a stamp positioning tool [Stamparatus] to line up the stamped image to repeat to the length required. Then Gold WOW Emboss Powder was added and melted with my Heat Tool. These were cut to size and added on the front panel and inside on the right.

3. Create the feature – I began with creating the Octagon Wreath using the ‘B’ side of the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper (DSP), Granny Apple Green and Garden Green cardstock. The wreath was added to the front panel – remember to only add adhesive to one side so it hovers when open!

4. Add the sentiment – a 1″ Circle in Basic White is stamped with the sentiment [Peace on Earth] in Real Red ink. The bow [Christmas Greenery] is diecut in Real Red cardstock.

5. Finishing touches – some Basic Rhinestone Jewels were coloured with the Real Red (Dark) Blends Marker and added to the card to complete it.

Thanks to Julie Heitz, The Chirpy Cardmaker of Quilts for her YouTube instructions to create the wreath featured on my card.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Monday for more Chrismas inspiration.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Claire Daly.
