Baby Wipe Technique (Masculine)

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you another baby wipe technique but this time a masculine one.

I am just loving this fun and very easy technique!

The colours this time are: Midnight Muse, Baked Brown Sugar & Bermuda Bay!

IMG_4810

The card base is Midnight Muse Core’dinations cardstock which I sanded to give it a more rustic look.

The technique is exactly the same process as I showed you last week with the Engagement card, you can view this here.

This time I stamped the Beautifully Baroque image onto very vanilla card stock. Isn’t it just stunning?!!!

IMG_4812

I added some bakers twine around the image giving it a more masculine look.

And I added the sentiment “happy father’s day”. Yes I am getting in early this year!!!!

Baby Cards (boy & girl)

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you some quick and easy baby cards using the Baby We’ve Grown stamp set.

I am just loving this set of stamps with 6 images, only 4 I have used!

The colour scheme is: Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake!

IMG_4813

The card base is Crumb Cake.  I stamped each of the images onto Very Vanilla cardstock using a Soft Suede inkpad. I coloured parts of the images with the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker and sponged all the edges.

IMG_4814     IMG_4809

The background was created by inking the inside of Petals a Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and placing the cardstock over the top being careful not to move it. Rub it gently then remove it slowly, so you don’t smudge the image. It is another fantastic technique for using your TIEFs!!!

I added some Vintage ribbon and some pearls to finish it off.

I then decided to make one for a baby boy using the same colours but exchanging the Pink Pirouette for Soft Sky and here it is!

Say Cheese

Hello Crafters,

Are you getting inspired about the new annual catalogue coming out soon? If not, well here is another set that is sure to please!

Not only will it be great for cardmaking, but also with Scrapbooking and the new Project Life range. I cannot wait to get my hands on the Project Life products, I am so excited!!!

Say Cheese Flashback

The card base is Crushed Curry Core’dinations cardstock. The stamp set is called Say Cheese and I used Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Bermuda Bay inks.  The scallop border punch was used to add a bit more detail, along with the Apothecary Accents Framelits used behind the Say Cheese Sentiment!

Say Cheese Flashback

The Designer Series Paper is the new Flashback DSP. Don’t you just love how everything coordinates, the Stamps, Inks & Papers?!!!! This is why I love Stampin’ Up!

I fussy cut most of the images and layered them  to the card with dimensionals.

Here is another close up of the image.

Say Cheese Flashback

The ribbon is Bermuda Bay, one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! colours.

PCCCS#87

Hello Crafters,

With an extra hours sleep today (daylight savings ending) I have been up and busy entering some card challenges!

At Paper Craft Crew Challenges this week, it’s a Card Sketch Challenge!

Card Sketch 87

I wanted to try something completely different today with this challenge. I felt the need to work on some more masculine cards (certainly not my favourite style with all girls in our family), and also to try the Black Magic technique. So here we go!

I stamped the lobster from the stamp set, By the Tide with White Craft Ink onto black card stock and then heat set it.

Colour over the white ink with watercolour pencils. Start with the lighter colours and then build up the shading with the darker colours. What a cool effect you end up with!

Black Magic Technique

I used a black card base and added a Tempting Turquoise banner embossed with the Chevron TIEF. Before adhering the banner, I stamped a couple of other images from the By The Tide stamp set in White Craft ink.

The anchor image was stamped with Jet Black Stazon ink onto Tempting Turquoise card and punched with the 1″ circle punch and adhered with a dimensional.

The sentiment is stamped from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and I punched it out with the Word Window punch, before sticking down with more dimensionals.

Black Magic Technique

The Basic Metal Buttons are from the current Occasions Catalogue and give a real masculine feel to finish off this card.

Be sure to have a go at some Challenges, they are great fun to play along and see what others design, so head over to Paper Craft Crew Challenges for more inspiration from the Design Team!

I also used a few punches to create the scallop circle, chevron border punch and the Word Window punch with the sentiment stamped on it.

The seahorse is a stamp from the By The Tide stamp set.

Thanks to Angela Footit, my fellow SU demonstrator, for this card design template.

Hexagon meets Grunge

Hello Crafters,

Today I want to share with you a masculine card I case’d from a card I saw on Pinterest a while back using the Hexagon Punch and the Kaleidoscope DSP.

I did the base card in Black, then added a layer of Crushed Curry card and stamped an image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Smoky Slate ink.

I punched the Kaleidoscope DSP with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack then used the Hexagon Punch so the circle is centred.

Hexagon

I used some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and weaved it through the punched Hexagons.

I stamped Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with coordinating Bitty Banners dies.

Here is a close up!

Hexagon Punch

I love how this turned out and love the Grungy look using the stamp set to add a little detail. Without the stamped background it looked too plain.
This grungy style was something that definitely didn’t appeal to me when I first saw it, but boy has it grown on me!
Why don’t you have a go at a gungy style card too?

Soccer Card

Hello Crafters,

This time of year is all about sport and the AFL has begun! But instead of an Aussie rules card, I decided to make an English Football card in the form of Soccer.

So here it is!

IMG_4348

The item I have used to create this is the Hexagon punch in white and black and adhered to a crumb cake card base.

This card was so quick and easy to create I am sure I will be making plenty of these for the boys parties my kids will be invited to.

I added some of the Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain Ribbon for an interest of colour under the Happy Birthday from the Sassy Salutation stamp set.

Don’t forget there are only a couple of weeks left to place your orders before Sale-a-bration ends. Any orders of $90+ can earn free product from the Sale-a-bration brochure (pgs 11-17). But if you place an order of $180+ you get to choose 2 free products!!! Be sure to check them out now!

Two in One Challenge!

Hello Crafters,

Today I share a card that I have submitted for two card challenges, the first at Just Add Ink ~ just add a sunburst, and secondly at Pals Paper Arts ~ colour challenge (PPA194).

It’s Friday and the long weekend is about to begin, but my time off started yesterday (lucky me!) so I wanted to put some time aside today to enter some challenges and it just happened that these two challenges I was able to combine.

I began with an A5 size card base, measured the middle of either end and slid the card into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, then trimmed off the excess. From the left side I scored at 3-1/4″ and folded in. Then decorate.

Sunburst PPA194

I have used the colour scheme from the colour challenge and at first, I wondered how it would turn out. Not colours I would normally think to combine, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The embossing folder was the only non SU item I used.

As you may have noticed by past blog posts, I have loved playing with the Scallop Tag Topper punch, as it is so versatile. You do not have to just keep it for making tags, but so many other things!!! See some of my other posts using this punch to make boxes, treat boxes, card in a box, chocolate treats, and more! The Scallop Tag Topper punch is available in the Occasions Catalogue, click here to view it online.

Here it is open. I stamped the Simply Stars stamp set on the inside for a bit of interest as well as on some card stock and cut out for the front of the card. These were adhered with Stampin’ dimensionals.

IMG_4327

Tied together with a piece of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon.

Here is a close up of the embossed background and the stars showing the 3D effect created using Stampin’ Up Dimensionals and the gorgeous large rhinestone gives it that little sparkle!

Sunburst

Scallop Tag Topper Card (masculine)

Hello Crafters,

I don’t know what it is, but I just can’t get enough of this Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I think it may have something to do with just how versatile it is and what can be created with it!

IMG_4293

For the card base, I started with a piece of Soft Sky card stock measuring 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″.

Measure and mark the centre along the shorter side. Flip the card and repeat. Shimmy it into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch (#133324) and line up the mark with the centre of the scallop punch.

To see a video on how to create this card base Click Here

Here is a close up of the card!

IMG_4294

I used the High Tide DSP (#132992) and By the Tide Stamp set (W#131910, C#129120) and fussy cut the fish and adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set (W#128706, C#122497) and punched with the Large Oval punch (#119855).

Don’t forget about the amazing deals during Sale-a-bration until 31 March!

With any $90 order, you choose 1 free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure (pages 11-17)

$180+ = 2 free products

$270+ + 3 free products and so on!

and if you spend $300+ you also get a bonus $50 Hostess dollars to spend!

Roar, it’s a lion

Hello Crafters,

Continuing with the baby theme of the past couple of days, here is a cute little card for any young child.

What child doesn’t like the zoo and visiting the lions? I know my girls certainly do!

I used the Floral Frames Collection (#127012) dies in the Big Shot with Soft Suede card.

Floral Frames Lion

To soften the edges and give him a bit of softness, I sponged the edges with a sponge dauber in the same colour as the card.

The face is created using the 2-1/2″, 3/4″ & 3/8″ circle punches in Summer Starfruit cardstock. The feet were punched with the Extra Large Oval punch, cut in half and the corners rounded with paper snips. I drew the lines/markings by hand.

When I photographed this card, I noticed the reflection in the glass, just like it is sitting at the waters edge getting a drink! Love it!
