Card 2
The Notes of Nature Bundle is one that really appeals to me, but I’m not a confident crafter when it comes to this style. In saying that, I’m happy with the result. I watched Emma Goddard make a card recently so I have cased her design but used different colours and papers.

I started with stamping the larger leaf image a few times on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Versamark, added Silver Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. I also diecut other finer leaves so I could also watercolour them. I used Pool Party & Highland Heather inks with my Water Painters. Some of the finer diecut leaves, I dabbed them on my Versamark inkpad and added Silver Emboss Powder. I think they came out beautifully.

On the Highland Heather card base, is a piece of DSP from the Softly Stippled 12×12 DSP (free with a $90+ product order during Saleabration 2024). This has been brushed with Pool Party ink, then stamped with the dotty stamp and Silver Embossed. I also used a Sponge Dauber and added Highland Heather ink around the edges. The top layer is Pool Party cardstock, brushed with both colours of ink and stamped. I diecut the holes down the left side and roughed up the edges with open Paper Snips.

Now that I have all the layers glued together I added another strip of the DSP across the centre then started gluing the leaves. Some are added on Dimensionals, but mostly glued. The sentiment is fussy cut and added on doubled up dimensionals. A silver Simply Elegant Trim bow is added on a glue dot.

On the inside is a basic white layer, a sponge dauber added ink around the edges and then another of the watercoloured leaves added in the corner.

  2. Two fabulous and different cards Kate. I know you said you’re not a confident crafter with regards to your second card but your creation is lovely. Pool Party, Highland Heather and Silver go so beautifully together.

  3. Both cards are beautiful this week (as always) Kate. I like all those extra touches you’ve added with the second card, and I must add that Highland Heather and Pool Party are a favourite combination of mine.

  4. Kate, your cards are just gorgeous! I love the monochrome hot air card and your beautiful floral card too. I’m not confident with this type of card making either, so I know just how you feel, but your card looks so amazing, especially with your colour combination and that silver embossed greenery.

  5. Two stunning cards Kate, I love both of them. Your mono chromatic balloon card is very clean and fresh compared to all of the lovely layers on your second card

  6. Both of your cards are lovely, Kate. I love the flowery paper, Rainbow Dots, and white-on-white elements on your first card – so pretty! Pool Party looks beautiful with Highland Heather, and you’ve used the colours beautifully on your second card. It’s good to push ourselves outside our crafting comfort zones, once in a while!
