Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.
Week 48 – So Saffron
So Saffron is from the Subtles collection and is a dusty yellow that looks amazing with black.
Today I am using it with the Butterfly Brilliance bundle and the Stitched Rectangle framelits. This stamp is one huge stamp with all the butterflies together, so it makes it easy to stamp. The die is also one big die to cut out all the butterflies in one go!
Using the Stamparatus really helped with stamping and lining up the images when I stamped the Saffron layer to place over the top of the stamped white layer.
I took 3 of the Rectangle framelits and die cut them from the Saffron layer. Put these aside as you can use them on another card – you’ll see it shortly! Glue the Saffron layer to the White layer, lining up the stamped images. Die cut the butterflies in So Saffron card and add Wink of Stella to each one. Glue them to the card so their wings can be folded up. Before gluing the white layer to the card base, I decided at the last minute to add some white twine. I used a 1/8″ hole punch to notch each side so the twine sits neatly, wrapping it around and tying in a bow in the centre of the largest butterfly. Then glue it to the card base. Rhinestone Jewels were added last.
This next card is using black card for a dramatic effect and the left over stamped rectangles from the previous card.
I also used some Champagne Foil behind the filigree butterflies and Champagne Rhinestones!
On the inside, I used the largest Stitched Rectangle framelit for my writing panel and stamped some more butterflies. I didn’t add sentiments to either of these cards, as they could be used for any occasion and I don’t think they needed one 😉

Two stunning cards Kate. I love them both. I love the monochromatic look of card one, but I also love the rich depth of colour on your second card. Cannot pick a favourite! Gorgeous!

Your cards are wonderful! The way you’ve lined up the butterflies over the two layers on the frost card is genius!

Kate your cards look fabulous! I don’t think I could get them to look that good having the rectangles out like that but yours look so good. I loved the first one and then the black one was so striking. Love the champagne foil under the butterflies. Beautiful cards.

Great economical use of the rectangle die cuts, Kate! The butterflies look beautiful in So Saffron, and I like your dramatically different colour schemes.

Wow Kate these cards are stunning – it’s amazing how different So Saffron looks on black and on white. I love the way your stamping on the first card looks like the shadow of the wings and the elegant dark drama of your second card with foil and Champagne Jewels for the butterfly’s body.
