Four Feathers Shaker Card

Hello Crafters,

I have been very busy today and I want to share another challenge at Pals Paper Arts. The challenge this week is a Colour Challenge PPA2219.

This is my first time entering a challenge at Pals Paper Arts, but these colours are some that I just don’t use. In fact, this is the first time I have actually opened my Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze inkpads and cardstock! Can you believe this? They are just not my style, so I felt the need to have a go and get out of my comfort zone.

Well enough of my chatter, let me share what I came up with.

Four Feathers

So I began with my cardstock in front of me and worked out which layers I was going to start with. I used the Crushed Curry as my base card and added the Cajun Craze then the Always Artichoke. Both of these being the Core’dinations cardstock. I embossed the green with the Pretty Print TIEF.

The next layer is Crushed Curry stamped with Always Artichoke ink using the image from the Bordering Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. Then I die cut the centre using the Labels Collection Framelits. A piece of acetate was glued to the back of this die cut to create a window for the shaker card.

The little stars were created using the Stars Border punch. The images are Four Feathers Stamp Set and coordinating dies, also a new photopolymer set.

The flower was made using the Simply Pressed Clay and coloured with the inkpad. Once it was dry, I them covered it in Crystal Effects and left to dry. It gives it such a gorgeous shiny sheen! Some linen thread was added behind.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Pals Paper Arts page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

  1. Wow! What a great way to bring these colors together! A lot of detail and attention went into this card – and it shows. Congrats on opening those ink pads. 🙂 Thanks for playing along with this week’s PPA color challenge.

  2. Such a fun card! The confetti stars are wonderful for this shaker card and I love the colour and texture mashup you’ve achieved. Thanks for the tip on the clay flower, will try Crystal Effects on my next batch.
