Christmas, Stampin' Up!

Christmas Pines

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card also uses the Christmas Pines stamp set and the Pretty Pines thinlits which can be purchased as a bundle saving you 10%!

Christmas Pines, Metallic #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY Handmade Card

I have also used lots of GOLD! Well come on, who doesn’t love gold for Christmas, right?!!

Notice the pine cones are very different to the previous cards I have shared with you. These ones are not stamped, but just die cut and layered. It gives a totally different effect.

And the bows, well who would have thought to layer 2 bows and add a jingle bell with some twine lol

Christmas Pines, Metallic Tis the Season #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY Handmade Card

The sentiment was heat embossed with gold embossing powder just to add a bit more gold to the card. I must say, I do love that Petal Burst TIEF as the background. Although it isn’t a Christmas themed folder, it works so well.

What do you think of this Christmas card?

Santa Cookie Cutter

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another card using the Cookie Cutter Bundle, but this time a Santa theme!

Santa Cookie Cutter Christmas Presents & Pinecones DSP, #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY

This bundle is super versatile as you can see from the previous post on Monday with the Teddy Bear card.

Santa Cookie Cutter Christmas Presents & Pinecones DSP #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY

I love how there are so many styles to choose from. Santa, Teddy Bear, Gingerbread Man, Eskimo or the cute Reindeer. I will showcase some of those stamps over the coming weeks.

I love to colour, so this Santa was stamped and coloured using my Copic markers. His trims and pom pom have Iridescent Ice embossing powder added which is heat set and gives a gorgeous glitter effect.

The Designer Series paper, Presents & Pinecones DSP was used as banners behind the Santa along with a piece of Glitter paper.

Christmas, Stampin' Up!

Pinecones for Christmas

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another card using the Christmas Pines stamp set and the Pretty Pines thinlits which can be purchased as a bundle!

Christmas Pines, Presents & Pinecones DSP #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY

I love how this bundle can be used for Christmas cards, but I also think that it can be used for other projects throughout the year, as well as in my scrapbooking pages, so it is also very versatile.

Christmas Pines Presents & Pinecones DSP #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 @cardsbykate DIY

I wasn’t sure what colours to use for the stamped layers of the pine cones, so this was a bit of an experiment. As you can see, I have done the smaller one on white card, stamped with Crumb Cake then Soft Suede. The middle one is Soft Suede and Early Espresso and the largest pine cone is Soft Suede, then stamped off Early Espresso then a full strength Early Espresso.

Christmas Pines, Presents & Pinecones DSP, #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016, @cardsbykate DIY

The Designer Series paper, Presents & Pinecones DSP was used as a layer on the Early Espresso base card. This dark brown card is not a colour I would normally associate with Christmas, but it works so well with this DSP.

What do you think of this Christmas card?

Christmas

Merry Christmas

Dear Crafters,

I hope you were all good little boys and girls and the man in the big red fat suit paid a visit!!!!

He certainly did find our home and left loads of goodies for us all.

Anyway, while the Turkey is cooking away, I thought I would drop by with the cute little cards I made for my daughter’s prep class mates. I needed something that was reasonably quick and not too time consuming, as I had to make 20 of them, so I came up with this.

Rudolf Reindeer #stampinup

It is a simple white card base and using the Dots & Stripes Decorative Mask, I sponged 8 circles in Soft Suede ink for each of Santa’s reindeer and then 1 in Real Red ink (no guessing who this is for!!!)

The antlers are the top part of a branch from the No Bones About It stamp set (you know, the one with all those dinosaurs!)

Rudolf Reindeer #stampinup

I stamped the sentiment from the Jingle All the Way stamp set at the bottom.

Aren’t they cute?!!!

I hope you all enjoy your Christmas Day and eat as much delightful food and yummy drinks as you like, I know we sure will!

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

Dear Crafters,

Today I used the Sleigh Ride Edgelits & Delicate Ornament Thinlits dies to create a non-traditional coloured Christmas card!

The base card is Blushing Bride with a piece of Very Vanilla embossed with the Elegant Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the top.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

I die cut the Sleigh Ride Edgelits in Pool Party and Blushing Bride, layered them onto some Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut the Delicate Ornament Thinlits to create the Bauble.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

I added some retired Pool Party ribbon and tied a bow in a piece of Pool Party Twine to add to the top of the bauble.

Sleigh Ride #stampinup

Don’t forget to decorate the envelope and the inside of your card to coordinate.

Please leave a comment below if you like my non-traditional Christmas card!

Christmas Cutie

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card using some more of the brand new goodies from the Holiday Catalogue!! Be sure to get a copy or view it online now!!! You won’t be disappointed!

The Season of Cheer Designer Washi Tape is so quick and easy to use and helps to create cards in no time. The Home for Christmas Enamel Dots are adhesive backed, which make them super quick to add.

The image is stamped with the new black archival ink pad which is perfect for use with watercolouring techniques.

Christmas Cuties #stampinup

I used the brand new Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies to create the sentiment. The die was glued on with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen, which is super amazing for adding small embellishments like these!

Christmas Cuties #stampinup

I coloured the image with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Bright & Beautiful

Dear Crafters,

This Wednesday will be my last day of work for a month, yes you heard it right, I am taking 4 weeks off work. It is unheard of, but this year I want to spend as much time with my precious girls before my youngest heads off to school in 2015. She will be a big Prep girl and I will no longer have them home with me during the day 😦

Anyway, not only that, but also more stampin’ time!!!! Ye-ha!!!!

Here are some of the cards I have made for work colleagues.

Bright & Beautiful

These are so quick and easy to make but look amazing. You could make 10 of these in 1/2 hour easily!

The base card is Blackberry Bliss and embossed with the Stars TIEF. I stamped the larger star from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set in Crumb Cake ink onto Whisper White card.

Bright & Beautiful

The sentiment is stamped over the top of the star in Blackberry Bliss ink.

This is adhered to the base card and a ribbon bow attached to the top of the star.

Bright & Beautiful

The inside of the card is also stamped in the same colours in the bottom corner!

These colours are amazing together and work well for a non-traditional Christmas card. What do you think?

Endless Wishes

Hello Crafters,

Now we are well on our way to Christmas and Santa will be here soon kids, I have a few more Christmas cards to share with you.

Today we are using the Endless Wishes stamp set which is photopolymer, meaning the stamps are totally clear and stick easily to the clear blocks. I love how when you stamp with these, you can see exactly where the image will be on the card.

Endless Wishes
This card is one that you could make as a stamp a stack, making multiple of the same style in no time at all.

Just pre-cut all your cardstock pieces and then stamp away, it’s that easy!

I have used Pool Party and Night of Navy with White.

Endless Wishes

With this heat in Melbourne these past few days, I just felt the need for something a little cooler with the snowflakes!!!!

White on white

Hello Crafters,

Heavens is it Monday again already??? Yikes where did that weekend just go?

We had such a busy and exciting weekend with the kids school fete on Saturday and we managed to win first prize in the major raffle (XBox One). Hubby was super excited when he arrived home from work to find it under the Christmas tree!

Then we went to collect our new addition to the family – meet Maggie!

Isn’t she just the cutest?!!! She is only 6 weeks old and a bundle of joy already. She is such an affectionate little kitten.

Sunday we had a birthday party and then the kinder Christmas party and we are all totally exhausted, hence I don’t have a lot of craft to share with you today, but I will show you a card I case’d from splitcoaststampers.com.

Christmas Star

This is the first white on white card I have made and I totally love it. I will make some more of these for Christmas this year!
