Heart of Christmas: Above it All

HOC Blog Header 2023Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our September-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Heart of Christmas Week 5

Not long now until you can view inside the new Mini catalogue… Wednesday 6 September!

2023 September - December Mini Catalogue cover.

Today, I have a cute card with gondola’s in a warmer setting as it can be quite hot here in Australia at Christmas time. This scene reminds me of when we were in Switzerland in 2001 and we took a gondola down the mountain side to the sound of swiss cow bells. It was extraordinary and a moment in time I will never forget. Anyway, you just want to see my card, so here it is!

I cased this design from a card on page 40 of the catalogue.

My Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis gondola’s are so pretty against the background. That was coloured using the Blending Brushes in Boho Blue towards the bottom and Misty Moonlight at the top. The mountains are cut in Crumb Cake cardstock & the trees are stamped in Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock & Old Olive. Some Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs were added for a bit of shine! A simple sentiment is stamped and glued in place. Just having ‘wishing you’  keeps it open to be a Christmas card or birthday or anything really!

  1. Great card Kate. Very clever of you to leave the greeting open ended. I love your choice of colours. Could easily be the Kuranda Sky Rail or the Blue Mountains. Thanks for sharing your memories of your time in Switzerland.

  3. Oh what a good idea Kate to leave the actual sentiment off your card allowing you to use it for numerous occasions. You have created a lovely soft background for those pastel gondolas.

  4. Oh, I so love your gondola card Kate. I love your memories. For me it evokes memories of my holiday in New Zealand after an On Stage – good memories. I love you colour combo. The Crumb Cake mountains are delightful, especially with the little trees. xxx

  5. Oh, I was waiting to see what you’d stamped inside … but instead you decided to be sensible, and leave it open for whatever occasion you choose in future! LOL. The pastel colours look really lovely, along with the brights, Kate, and I love how this scene evokes such special memories for you.
