Colour Creations: Around the Corner with Blackberry Bliss

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. This week we are featuring a returning colour, Blackberry Bliss!!!

How pretty are these Delicate Lace Edgelits dies?!!! I have die cut them in Blackberry Bliss card stock and glued them to the front of the Balmy Blue card. Next I stamped the sentiment from the Around the Corner stamp set.

Animal Outings, Around the Corner, Delicate Lace Edgelits, Stampin Up 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia..JPG

The Animal Outings bundle is so Australian with its choice of animals, but today I’m using the cute little rhino. Those lace edgelits remind me of the skin of the rhino so I felt it appropriate to stamp it and cut it with the coordinating Animal Friends thinlits. Loving that there are coordinating thinlits for this stamp set.

Animal Outings, Around the Corner & Delicate Lace Edgelits, Stampin Up 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia.

I coloured the rhino and the little bird with Stampin’ Blends Markers, then added it with an action/wobble accessory… it’s like a spring and it makes him move. These are very easy to make by punching 2 small circles of card stock and wrapping some thin craft wire around a pen/marker 3 or 4 times. Remove the wire from the pen, cut the wire from the roll and using some tape, add each end of your coil to a circle. Place the action wobble behind your rhino with some glue and add it to your card.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card too. Here is have used the sentiments from Around the Corner, perfect detail for a birthday card.

Favourite Retiring Products Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Tonight I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some projects using our favourite retiring products from both the 2016-2017 annual and 2017 occasions catalogues!

Select retiring products have discounts of up to 50% off but are only available until sold out. Be sure to place orders before the sun sets on these items on 31 May. You don’t want to miss out – ask me how!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You have come to me from the talented, Rachel Palmieri!

Now let’s get started!

For my first project, I have used my favourite suite, Cupcakes and Carousels!

Carousel Birthday Card using Stampin Up Cupcakes & Carousel Birthday DSP, Up & Away thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Melbourne. #Occasions2017 3D

Oh how I love this Designer Series Paper. It is so bright and colourful and definitely in my colours that I really love to work with. Don’t the layers look wonderful?!

The carousel is gold embossed twice. The bottom layer was directly onto the square white card and the second was die cut with the circle die. Not sure if you can see that lovely gold shine?

The cupcakes are stamped and die cut and added with dimensionals.

I cased this from a card I saw browsing Pinterest by Crafty Little Peach.

My favourite products from the annual catalogue would have to be the Papillon Potpourri stamp set. This was the very first Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I purchased in my starter kit and has always been a favourite. I’m not sure I will ever be able to give it up!

In this card, I have also used the retiring Elegant Butterfly punch, Lovely Lace TIEF, the Subtles Designer Series Paper and the Very Vanilla 1/4″ Satin Ribbon.

and those gorgeous mini pearls… they won’t be around any more either, but don’t fear, the packs have been reconfigured and will return in a different format!

This card is the same design as the one above, however, I have used the retiring Happy Hearts TIEF (this really was one of my favs!).

I have a double spread scrapbook layout using the Candy Cane Lane DSP, Cookie Cutter Bundle & Star of Light stamp set.

candy-cane-lane-dsp-cookie-cutter-bundle-gingerbread-man-diy-double-layout-scrapbooking-memory-keeping-holiday-catalogue-2016-cards-by-kate-stampinup-cardsbykatemorgan

I haven’t done any journalling, as I have created this ready for Christmas this year, and it really isn’t that far away!

Every December, my girls and I make gingerbread men and tiny gingerbread houses and we decorate them. It takes us the whole weekend but we have made it our annual tradition.

My next project features the Blooms & Bliss DSP. I adore the colours in this paper pack; Blushing Bride, Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum & Whisper White.

The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set. The flower is from the Crazy About You stamp set and coordinating punch, Flower Medallion.

This card uses the same Blooms & Bliss DSP, but in the blue tones!

The next DSP to feature is from the Holiday catalogue, Presents & Pinecones. This has been my favourite paper pack this season! This is a shaker card using the Delicate Ornament thinlits.

My final project for today features the Floral Bouquet DSP with the Crazy About You stamp set and coordinating Medallion punch.

I love the classic blue and white of these papers.

Don’t forget to order your 4 packs of DSP and Get 1 FREE today!

AWH Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop!

Dear Crafters,art-with-heart-image

Today some of the Art with Heart Stampin’ Up! team girls are sharing some fun and fabulous ideas to inspire you from our brand new Holiday Catalogue available now until 3rd January 2017. Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today!

You have come to my blog from the lovely, Rebecca Jacovou.  Blogs are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

For my projects today I am using the Cookie Cutter Bundle (Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set & Cookie Cutter Builder Punch). By purchasing these items together you save an extra 10%.

Who doesn’t think of Rudolf when you think of Christmas? Well, Santa has to get here somehow and guess who is the leader of the gang?!!!! So today I begin with a card with Rudolf being the focus!

Cards by Kate, Cookie Cutter Reindeer #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016, DIY @cardsbykatemorgan

Having a stamp and coordinating punch, makes cards so easy to create. By stamping the background with multiple of the same image, you don’t necessarily need designer paper to get started. Stamp the image again onto the same colour card and punch it out and centre it to the card on dimensionals.

Cards by Kate, Cookie Cutter Reindeer, Rudolph, #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 DIY @cardsbykatemorgan

I added some of the new copper metallic thread behind for a little bling and a shiny red nose with some Dazzling Details and a bright red sentiment in the bottom corner.

Next is a similar card, but stepped up with an embossed background with copper embossing powder.

Cards by Kate, Cookie Cutter Reindeer, Copper, #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 DIY @cardsbykatemorgan

The Real Red card was die cut with the Layering Squares framelits and I used the copper metallic thread wrapped around it multiple times for an effective pattern.

Also in this bundle, is a teddy bear (cute hey?!) and the sentiment Have yourself a beary merry Christmas!

Cards by Kate, Cookie Cutter Teddy, Beary Christmas, #stampinup Holiday Catalogue 2016 DIY @cardsbykatemorgan

This time I have used some Designer Series Paper, Pinecones and Presents and I selected the piece with the little bows to coordinate with the bow on my teddy bear.

The Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon is tied in a knot with some gold sequin trim.

And now for some cute little Santa earrings, made with this bundle and using some Shrink Plastic! How cool that you can use your stampin’ stuff to create these gorgeous accessories!!!

and some cute little Eskimo’s too!

Blog Hop: New Annual Catalogue

Dear Crafters,

AWHT Logo-001

Today I bring you another AWHT blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today our focus is on our New Annual Catalogue!

I would also like to highlight the joining special for the month of June. Our group is one of the largest teams in Melbourne and offer support, fun and friendship to anyone who would like to join us; from Hobby demonstrators to Business demonstrators to anyone in between. And for the month of June, there is a bonus special, you get to choose any two stamp sets of your choice for free along with your starter kit ($169). What are you waiting for, contact me today to find out more.

You have come to my blog from the very talented, Ros Davidson.  Now let’s get started!

For my projects today, I have used the Build a Birthday Stamp Set.

I was so excited when I first saw this set demonstrated at Convention on the Gold Coast, that it was going straight onto my wish list! And let me tell you, it hasn’t disappointed. I have made so many cards already with this versatile stamp set.

This card is made using Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay. I am totally loving this colour combination.

Build a Birthday Stampin Up!

I have used Bermuda Bay as my card base with a layer of Crumb Cake. The images are stamped onto Whisper White card using the Build a Birthday stamps, layering each one on top of the other with the coordinating ink pads. The best bit is that this set in photopolymer (completely clear) so you can easily line up the layers, one on top of the other!

I added some Bermuda Bay sequin trim, how gorgeous does it look? Check out that shine!

Build a Birthday Stampin Up!

I stamped the inside panel of the card with some birthday candles.

Build a Birthday Stampin Up!

I also stamped on the envelope.

And here is another card using this same stamp set, but in a different format. See those cake layers are now candles!!!

Blog Hop: Favourite Retiring Products

Dear Crafters,

AWHT Logo-001

Today I bring you another AWHT blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today our focus is on  our Favourite Retiring Product!

You have come to my blog from the lovely, Jenny Van Dijk.

Now let’s get started!

For my project, I have used my all time favourite stamp set, Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set and the I Love Lace Background Stamp.

I was so upset when I saw that Stippled Blossoms was retiring as it was the very first Stampin’ Up stamp set that I purchased. I cannot tell you just how much I love it and I am certainly going to miss creating with it (sniff, sob). It was so popular that it also sold out within days of it retiring, so unfortunately it can no longer be purchased.

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

I have used Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base. I stamped the I Love Lace background stamp with Versamark Ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and applied gold embossing powder being heat setting it. How gorgeous does it look? Check out that shine!

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

Next I Inked up the solid Stippled Blossom image with Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto the coordinating card stock, using the Masking Technique. Then I applied Versamark ink to the second image and using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped it on top, before applying more gold embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. This is the first time I have ever embossed this image, but it gives a real special effect and I wish I had thought of it sooner! I fussy cut the flowers with my paper snips.

The leaves are stamped with Old Olive and Baked Brown Sugar inks onto Whisper White card stock and fussy cut.

Stippled Blossoms & I Love Lace

I added the Baked Brown Sugar stretch ruffled ribbon around the edge before gluing it to the card base.

The images are added with dimensionals as is the sentiment. This was punched out with the Word Window punch.

I think this is the perfect card for this occasion.

Thanks for visiting today. Don’t forget to email me at craftwithkate@live.com.au to get a copy of the new Annual Catalogue or to ask about joining the Art With Heart team.

Let’s keep this blog hop hopping. Next up we have the amazing, Rachel Woollard.

You have come to my blog from Tamie Holt.

Now let’s get into showing you what you can make with the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set from the Occasions catalogue.

For my projects, I have used the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set, and the In Colours Designer Series Paper Stack.

Indescribable Gift

I have used Blackberry Bliss as my card base. I die cut the largest of the Deco Labels Framelits from the front of the card.

I used a piece of Vellum and stamped the Indescribable Gift image with Stazon Black ink and let it dry, before colouring with the In Colours Stampin’ Write markers (Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow & Baked Brown Sugar).

Indescribable Gift

The next step, I used my Stampin’ Piercing Mat and the Simply Scored Stylus to gently go around the flower petals on the coloured-in side. When you turn the image over, you can see the white shining through where the stylus has touched the vellum.

Indescribable Gift  Indescribable Gift

I glued the vellum to the inside of the card and put a piece of DSP (with the same size die cut) over it to cover the crooked edges and make the inside more attractive!

Indescribable Gift

I finished off with a coordinating ribbon bow and the sentiment from the same stamp set which I die cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

Indescribable Gift

I also made some cute little baskets for my girls to give to their friends for Easter from the same coordinating Designer Series Paper! How cute are they?!!!

Easter Basket  Easter Basket

These are only small and I cut some small strips of cellophane to put inside before adding 3 little solid eggs. I think the girls are going to love giving these to their closest friends.

Seasonal Catalogue and also Sale-a-bration! If you place an order with me during Sale-a-bration, you can choose a free item with every $90 you spend in one transaction. Now let’s get into showing you what you can make with the great new products in the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues.

You have come to my blog from Ros Davidson.

For my projects, I have used the Best Day Ever Stamp Set, Best Year Ever Accessory Pack & Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration Brochure) and the Something Borrowed Embellishments & Note Tag Punch (Occasions Catalogue).

Best Year Ever

I began with a card base in Coastal Cabana and stamped the background in the coordinating ink. I added the sentiment onto Whisper White card and punched it out. The DSP is added over the top after I sponged the edges and added the ribbon and embellishments.

I just love these Something Borrowed embellishments which I added on top of the ribbon, which I have folded to look like the pattern in the DSP (did you notice that?!!!).

Best Year Ever  Best Year Ever

and don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card and your envelope!

Best Year Ever

and why stop here…. I continued this theme (as I just love these colours together) and made a little magazine file folder to hold up to 10 cards and envelopes in. What a great idea these would be to make as gifts for loved ones.

Best Year Ever  Best Year Ever  Best Year Ever

How did I make this? Well, the following diagrams should give you the basic measurements. Be sure to decorate the “outside” as shown before you stick it together. Adhere the Belly Band last before decorating.

World Card Making Day

Hello Crafters,

Today being World Card Making Day, I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in our Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team and our focus is GIVING.

There is nothing better than checking the mailbox and there is some happy mail from the postie!!! I hesitate and almost cringe wondering what bills are going to face me from the mailbox, but to find some happy mail instead is an absolute bonus, and better still, when it has been handmade by someone who is thinking about you, makes it even more special!

So, let’s share some happy mail cards that I am going to send out to some wonderful people this week ~ get ready to stalk that postie in case you are the lucky recipient!!!!

I also just want to add that I have a great time sharing what I love, and Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart is To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference! I just love that and I think it sends a message to all of us who love to be creative.

Now let’s get started and see what you can make with some of Stampin’ Up!s amazing products from the Holiday and Annual catalogues.

A6 Card Box Chevron Petite Purse

The envelopes are stamped in Crumb Cake ink with I Love Lace down the left hand side.

Now for the card:

I Love Lace

I started with Island Indigo card stock, layered with a strip of Rich Razzleberry Core’dininations card stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it to the same length of the card and used the Chevron Border punch along one edge. I trimmed it so it has a 1/8″ border on each edge. I repeated this so I have two strips. I then turned one around and intertwined them (as shown).

Chevron Punch     Chevron Punch

I took a piece of Whisper White card and stamped it with the I Love Lace stamp using Versamark and then applied gold embossing powder and heat set it. Once touch dry, I punched the flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flower punches. I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink pads.

I Love Lace     I Love Lace

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fair Framelits!

I added the flowers, leaves , sequins and twine with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp set, a FREE Hostess item with any order (workshop or party) to the value of $300 as well as the Hostess dollars earned.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card also. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but see how I added a little of the I Love Lace along the bottom? It just ties all the elements together!!!!!

I Love Lace

Would you like to see more? Yes?

Petite Purse     Petite Purse

I used the Petite Purse die to cut out an Island Indigo purse, then used Versamark ink and the I Love Lace stamp, before covering with gold embossing powder and heat setting. I attached the handle with gold brads and the petal in the same way.

Well here is another small project, an A6 card box!

IMG_5305

although this time, I made a box for the cards to go in to. This would make a quick and easy gift, along with a few cards to give to someone.

A6 Card Box

I started with an A4 piece of card and trimmed it to 29.7 x 20cm. I scored the short side at 2cm, then rotate to the long edge and score at 2, 14, 16, 28cm. Along the bottom edge (shown above), cut up each of the scorelines to the 2cm line.  I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to create the 1/2 circle at the top.

Here is a close up of the decorating (same techniques as the card)!

I cannot tell you just how much I love these colours together!!!!
